Completely agree. It seems like the majority of people here don't want to have a real conversation. They just want to wait for their chance to talk about their pre-conceived notions of women, and it can be scary.

It's height for me too, as a guy. I'm not particularly interested in dating any short women or my height. Feels uncomfortable. I'm not tall myself at all either, I'm like 5'7" lol. I just prefer being the shorter one in a relationship, I like looking up to my partner, and I find height attractive.

Why do you keep trying to make hypothetical scenarios where women are the bad guy?

I'm almost 5'7" and my girlfriend is 6'2" and I'm in heaven every single day. She's not afraid to wear her big goth boots that make her almost a foot taller than me either, and she knows she's looking like a whole goth goddess. There's a lot of guys out there who would kill to have a taller girlfriend. Some guys are insecure and are turned off by the idea of a taller girl. Overall, it's really about preferences. Similarly to how a lot of women prefer to be the shorter one in a relationship, I pr…

Thank you for that!! I swear, I'm debating leaving this sub every day cause of the ridiculous things I see on here every time I log into reddit. There are so many people who see things as so black and white and have all of these pre-conceived notions of how things should or have to be, and it just makes no sense. Ugh. Lol

Understandable. I'd assume, like almost everything, that it's on a spectrum. For some people it can probably take months, for others, a few days or weeks till you feel a stronger emotional connection. I get not wanting to attach a label too and just taking it at face value instead. Some people let labels take over their identity so that can be unappealing. For me personally, it can kinda help me understand that someone has similar experiences and take it from another perspective.

Have you ever considered the possibility that you could be demisexual?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this sounds like they don't actually want to be friends with the person. So then there's a retaliation of "Since you won't date me, we're not friends." That seems dishonest and sad.

You don't get to decide what she likes.

....no. She likes that I'm shorter than her. You don't get to decide what she likes on her behalf lol. You're putting these arbitrary numbers in people's lives for them for no reason. Some people like certain heights, some people couldn't care less. You're making a lot of unnecessary assumptions.

Hey man. I'm about 5'6" ish myself, and I can honestly say after a lot of reflection over the years, it really, truly is that sometimes we're just not someone's type. That's okay. Everyone has something they want and something they value in a partner. I'm now dating an amazing woman who is friggin 6'2" and she likes that I'm shorter. They're out there! Don't be afraid to approach someone who you believe is out of your league. As you get older (I'm 26), you kinda realize, there isn't really a "le…

Fr. Like every post I see come up is something like "Women are everything that's wrong with the world, and it's all their fault cause I'm a good looking guy! How do we stop men from being demonized?!"

That seems to be like 95%+ of this subreddit. Pretty scary tbh

ah well in that case, that's my bad. That was just a direct reply to what I said so I figured it was about my girlfriend.

What in the world is this response lol. She's very aware of asexuality. She's bisexuality herself as well. It has taken some time for her to fully trust me, and that's okay. Relationships are about building trust and communication.

I love showering my girlfriend with love, appreciation, and affection. She had a rough home life growing up, never having a consistent place to stay, and the men who were supposed to be role models either abandoned her or abused her. I count myself lucky every day that she chose to let me into her life. Just yesterday morning, she woke up and turned to me and said "not to be gay, but you taught me to trust again." And I was over the moon in tears, happy. I just crave to be her stability, warmth,…

Ik!! I was just saying in another comment, it's pretty scary how many people have very unrealistic views of a relationship, make all these crazy assumptions about people because of how many people a person has had sex with, it's astonishing.

I'm gathering that a lot of people here have an amazingly unrealistic view of relationships and sex. It's pretty frightening

Big agree all around. I'm 26, my gf is 23 and we've been together for over a year and a half. Probably gonna be at least another year or so before I pop the question, but I'm very certain she's the one I want to marry. We battled long distance for almost a year, and even at one point, her phone broke and communication was rocky for about 2 months until she got a phone again. We're on the same page about many things, I know we can openly communicate any problems we have, and we're always each oth…

Fascinating. If anything, I'd think the opposite. I currently live with my partner and have for almost 1 year now. If anything, living together taught us much more about our relationship, each other's love language, areas we both need help in, the list could go on. Living together before being married lets you know if you'll be ready to handle it for marriage, because there's a whole lotta things that are different when you move in together. You really learn much, much, much more about your part…

My gf and I actually met through bumble, and I'm the one who had the high height requirement lol. The area I'm the most shallow in for dating is height, and I'm a 5'6.5" man (altho I like to say 5'7" on a good day haha). Ideally, I'd want a partner who is at least 5'10". She is 6'2" and is not afraid to wear boots that add some height, and I love it. I'm VERY thankful that height isn't important to her, and that she actually has a bit of a preference for shorter men.

My gf is a lot more experienced than me lol, all I know for sure is that it's much higher than my body count of 2, she being my second. Although, it was very nice to hear that when we were first dating and "getting to know each other" that she was shocked that I had only ever slept with one person before. Overall, I really don't have any opinion on her having a high body count. She was younger and wanted to explore things and she did! She's very loyal, thoughtful, and caring, so for all I care, …

I'm 26 dating a woman who is 23, and we've been together for over a year and a half now. Before we started dating though, I went on a date with a woman who was 31, and another who was 34. I don't care about age all that much as long as it's nothing too drastic.
