Start with splitting for where you are at right now. Do audio book.

Be sure to take good care of yourself mentally/emotionally. Hit the gym and eat well. Care for yourself. Try to rest well also. You have to be strong and conserve your energy.

She is totally preparing to use this. You should’ve filed yesterday. Once those temporary orders are in place everything is about keeping things consistent for the kids. Try however you can to keep things how they are and strategize as much as you can but then file to keep things locked in place where you can keep things locked in and being the good dad you are. Mine wanted to keep kid out of school (job security for her) but also to keep him isolated as I have been too. I took him and picked hi…

Went through one myself, worked and paid it all down myself. When brought up later after the fog started to clear and corrected me and told me it was MY bankruptcy……. It surely was…. Worked my ass off to pay it off and keep everything afloat.

This might not help your situation immediately but this book came to mind: “Don’t alienate the kids.” Bill Eddy He also wrote splitting - the book for high conflict divorce. I just immediately thought of some tough examples he had given when hearing your situation. He’s an attorney and also was a counselor. I like jamming his audiobooks and they have been helpful for me. Good luck brother! https://books.google.com/books/about/Don_t_Alienate_the_Kids_Raising_Resilien.html?id=Qgz-56Od-oAC

Hi, thanks for the questions. There was 1 initial mediation that helped us setup our temporary orders. It wasn’t fruitful and was a day of back and forth with the final hour being 50/50 nesting and temporary support. Then 1 postponed mediation for attorney scheduling conflict. Then 2nd postponed mediation last minute to escalate to discovery and false accusation of secret baby and having women stay over during dads time. Discovery is mostly financially based. No, never directly discussed vividly…

There is no settlement : / we were supposed to be cooperative. Currently nesting with 50/50 I’m paying a small support and all the bills. She is dragging things out and escalated to formal discovery. She switched jobs and blamed her switching jobs on me not being helpful? Took about a month off. Now she is only working on the weeks she doesn’t have child. I’m working my tail off, being super dad, paying for everything, getting slandered and feel like I’m getting walked to slaughter.

Thanks a ton for this tidbit. It seems awfully invasive and hasn’t been an issue and is just fishing expedition from right now. I think they could file a motion to compel? And if I didn’t answer would possibly draw attention or hear to it. May I ask what state your case was in? And were you able to resolve in mediation? Did you go to mediation first? Who initiated the discovery? We were supposed to be cooperative and while things were tense and heavy in the air we were ok. But once she learned I…

Thank you, yes we have both filed and her counter petition is a no fault. The question has to be answered and sworn because it was asked. They could then counter file from a no fault to a fault and ask for a disproportionate share. Which there really isn’t anything but debt and I’m willing to be more than fair just to get away with my kid (and of course encourage a healthy relationship with kid and mom). Attorney agrees it could be used to make me look bad or give me a look or taint me some but …

Same here buddy lol get use to it. Don’t play into her gaslighting and smear campaigns. Keep your cool. Keep your cards close to your chest. Read read read. Do audiobooks for high conflict divorce. Get yourself a damn good counselor for yourself that can help keep you on track. Do you believe she has a B cluster personality disorder? You need to have a counselor to help you manage your frustrations and keep you grounded through this. Your attorney isn’t and shouldn’t be your counselor although t…

I’d advise against Cordell and Cordell in my research. It seems like they advertise to men and then “farm” their contracts out to firms or practices. I could be wrong. But I looked and decided against it. I’d go to AVVO and search family law for harris county. Search by star/review ratings and read the reviews. Then also check the Google and yelp reviews. Don’t go for the best/most expensive as they might be spread very thin and you’re a smaller fish to them. Go for upper middle of the road. Be …
