Definitely not, I’m pushing 5’11” and never once has a woman commented on my height irl. Even when the woman is close to my height. I’ll get the occasional you’re tall but only from women 5’2” and below. Honestly I don’t think they really care IRL as long as you’re taller than them. I also don’t really go for women taller than me which is somewhat rare here in America.

There’s a lot of variables. Approach, attitude, body language, vibe. I’d say if it’s a reoccurring thing you’ll need to build a bit of repor before asking. Just a little bit of playful banter. I agree, lost most of my body fat down to visible abdominals for the first time in my life. The attention I got from really attractive women was surreal at first.

I agree, some may disagree that talking to women you’re not attracted to is a waste of time. Honestly if you’re starting at the bottom any interaction with a girl is going to slowly build to something bigger. This is if it’s someone fresh out of the womb so to speak.
