| 9 | Getting a divorce. Wondering about others experiences when there is a high disparity in income and kids involvedI'm my state, that half would be from your gross income so it works out to about 75% of your take home income. The system is so unfair to the breadwinner. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/09/23 03:18 PM |
| 6 | How long did it take you guys to rebuild?Everybody is commenting around the same time frame. I'm just over 2 years post separation, just under 2 years post divorce. Finances are better than they were during the marriage (less all the equity from the marital home of 20 years). No debt, cash heavy again. Bought my own home that I can work on and update without being told I'm doing it wrong or should hire somebody. I have pretty much full time custody of my kid. Lives with and goes to school with me. Got an absolutely beautiful girlfriend… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/09/23 10:22 AM |

| 13 | Worried about her mental healthThe best thing about divorce is that no matter what happens to her, it's no longer your problem. My ex went completely off the deep end after the divorce. I mean COMPLETELY... She started drinking, got fired from her job, moved 5hrs away, became abusive to our child, coerced my child into calling CPS on me, has an alternate personality (WITH A NAME!!!) that she uses as the scapegoat for the abuse. When she hit the kid or broke items purposely in the home, she would apologize to my daughter and b… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/09/23 08:53 PM |
| 3 | Is it good for me that she moved out?You have a lot going for you, from what I experienced during my divorce. I guarantee her lawyer has a hand in her behavior. It sounds to me like she is in the losing position. She gave up the house, the parental role, has stable AND high income. All of these were factors being used against me by my lawyer. The way it was explained to me is that courts like to follow precedence. For example, if you are paying her on a monthly basis (lets say $2k/mo) to cover expenses and childcare during the sepa… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/09/23 08:44 PM |
