It could be rooted in a lack of self-esteem. If you know you’re the shit, and truly believe that, you’re not going to be surprised or anxious when a girl shows those indicators.

Literally just have a conversation with them. Just because it’s a girl doesn’t mean she doesn’t enjoy spontaneous conversation with someone socially adept, quite the opposite. Feel out if the conversation is flowing, if she’s engaging and smiling, then just ask if they want to get a coffee/drink/etc or if you can get their number. If she declines, say no worries, smile and say have a nice day. In some cases you can get away with asking if she’s sure with a laugh and smile. If it’s a no, then be …

Well I wasn’t intentionally trying to bring anyone home that night, but I’ll let you know after these dates. Imo jumping on a chair and singing to a girl is a huge escalation from blowing some bubbles.

Idk man, you’re thinking too seriously about this imo. This was a techno event and weird things like bubbles are fun and very appropriate. I was having a good time with them, and I think the good time I was having just became contagious. Again though, may not work at a different sort of event, and that has to be followed up with actual game, and not JUST blowing bubbles endlessly.

Not necessarily. There’s some degree of peacocking, but I wouldn’t say that’s directly tied to your success in game in a club setting. In fact if you’re extremely high energy while trying to game in a club setting, that can definitely be a disadvantage. The reason this worked for me is that I followed up with some laid back conversation after introducing a fun vibe. If I had kept my energy at that fun vibe rather than bringing it down and changing my tone, that probably wouldn’t have worked out …

Yes exactly — it’s the novelty, but you definitely have to back it up with other forms of value once the novelty wears off.

I pulled a couple girls who were almost 30, so don’t be so sure. The most important part of this for this to work is immediately switching into normal game once you’ve engaged them for a minute or two with the bubbles. Once you’ve engaged them they might find out that this person is not only fun, but they’re also chill to talk to, they have a good job, strong circle of friends, etc. Also, a big part of why this worked is because it’s a techno concert, and bubbles were very par for the course.

Idk, I did this at a reasonably upscale club in downtown Boston. I was even blowing bubbles for the girls pouring drinks and the bouncers, and they found it entertaining 🤷‍♂️ It was a small container of bubbles I will say.

Lol this is why I’m asking for feedback! That was the first time I cold approached and I did it without thinking too much, so I could use some calibration. We’re setting up a date for her to cook some eggplant parm for us right now, so seems smooth sailing so far. This is really valuable information, thanks!

This is validating. This just happened after I made this post — she mentioned that she makes a really mean eggplant parm, and I said I’d love it if she showed me her mean eggplant parm sometime. She just texted back that she hasn’t made it in a while and she’d love to. I’d appreciate your thoughts on steps after this development, but now just seems like I need to set up a day and time and make sure to establish attraction? And maybe not text too much until then?

Accept that not every interaction will go well, figure out what you can learn from each interaction, and keep it moving. Try to be as present and as out of your head as possible, and don’t censor yourself too much. Be kind to yourself in the learning process because this is a different way of being and it takes time and repetition. Also, if interactions do go poorly it’s not always you — sometimes it’s the other person.

Absolutely! There’s a lot of research on the benefits of meditation, but there’s also some research indicating that it may not be right for 100% of people 100% of the time. People diagnosed with manic depression may not benefit from meditation. People with PTSD can experience flashbacks by going into the body. It can also just exacerbate symptoms of anxiety and depression sometimes, and someone experiencing that should go very slowly with building a practice with the help of a clinician. For mos…

I work in a research lab that studies meditation and being in your body is extremely important when working with anxiety. Emotions begin in your body, but they don’t have any emotional valance until your brain interprets what your body is feeling. Interception is the ability to notice sensations in your body. If you can notice a sensation coming up in your body before your brain starts to interpret it as an emotion, you can begin to prevent yourself from associating those bodily sensations with …

I have no problem confronting her about it, but I am unsure if it would help or hurt the situation. If she is starting to feel differently, I don’t want to scare her off. I’m also not even sure if she’s aware of these things she’s doing.

First, you should find a therapist to speak to. If you’re breathing, there’s more right with you than there is wrong with you. But a therapist can help you process these thoughts and emotions in a healthy way, as well as set some goals for yourself. Second, you’re still really young and you have plenty of time to find your winds. You’re in a great position actually, you’re not having to pay for housing, and you’re still in college, and plenty of people don’t pursue a job in their field until aft…

Ik it’s hard but the only answer here is to see and interact with her less for a while, and be honest about the fact that you need that space. Pursue your own hobbies/passions/goals, talk to other women, and try not to even think about her. Remain friendly if you do see her, but always opt to keep it brief and don’t fall into old patterns with her you may have had from that 6 months. If you do interact with her, try to always have interesting things to say about what you’ve been doing lately. Th…

Yes! This is also a big part of the equation. I live in a city where everybody is extremely highly achieving but also very insular and rigid. I need to surround myself with more people doing similar things so I can have some community and support. Any advice on how you’ve overcome this in your life?

I think you’re right. All of these things are external. I genuinely do like myself and see value in who I am, but I think respecting myself when that respect means doing something another part of me might be avoidant of is hard for me. I also think I was raised in such a way that acts of service are a way to show my affection for people I care about, so I often prioritize other people even when that means I suffer. Definitely not logical/healthy. I think I’m going to find a therapist to help me …

Ironically, I work in a research lab that studies mindfulness and meditation. So I’m usually pretty good at being aware of my emotions and thoughts, and I’m usually a pretty happy person. I love philosophy and art and I use these things to reflect on my life regularly. But since I started working on myself more intensively I’m still struggling so much. I will say my family lives 10 hours away, and I miss them a lot. And I’m not as used to contemplating my long term goals. My life has been pretty…

My company has plenty of institutional money and my labor, so I'm not worried about their coffer tbh. 😅 The impact on the environment does give me pause. If I do this I'll probably order some to use for work so it's not a waste, then maybe take one or two with me. I wouldn't give them out like candy, only to people who I have a good connection with whose number I would ask for anyways. I usually have no problem making an interesting and fun first impression, so I guess I'm curious if a solid fir…

That's fair. I don't perceive myself as a desperate person, just curious about playing with different options. But I get that girls may not see it that way. I think if it did work, the initial impression I make would have to be airtight so they're left wanting more.

Yes this is EXACTLY the basis for this idea. I get the logic of the other redditors and I am considering those opinions, but I know I give value and so I'm really not concerned if someone reaches out or not. It's just fun to play around with different elements and I'm curious what would happen.

This is exactly where I'm coming from, I'm just curious to play around with different elements and see what happens. I have some pause from the reactions I've gotten here no doubt, but still tossing around the idea.

Appreciate the straightforward opinion. If I do this, I'll probably give them to some people and just go the more traditional route of getting numbers with others. Not really investing too much stock in having stellar results, it's just really easy for me to get business cards for free so I'm curious what would happen.
/r/seduction08/03/22 12:45 AM

I can actually get them for free through work so there would be very little investment on my part and I wouldn't lose money even if it does end up in the trash. Business cards are still pretty relevant imo, at least in my job. But I agree that A.) It could come across as a little stale and B.) Guys typically do the calling. I'm just considering messing around with some different elements given that it's so easy for me to get them.

I smell what you're cooking, I did have that thought. Another perspective I had is that it's probably not something that girls get often, so it might be attention grabbing. I'd also imagine if there's a genuine enough connection, at some point it might not matter? Just thinking out loud.

Witchers are way fucking cooler than Superman and it's not even close. That said, sadly I think Superman would wipe the floor with Geralt.

Not for everyone, but there's something to be said for meditating in public. It helps you become a better meditator because it forces you to hold an awareness of the many noises around you as well as your thoughts/bodily sensations. Kind of like training with ankle weights.

It would be better to throw yourself hard into your hobbies, work, or friends. You want to be naturally busy with interesting things, not flaky to try to make yourself seem less available, women can tell the difference.

I recognize now how it communicated the need for validation and I won't be doing that in the future. That said I'm kind of thankful the conversation took the turn it did because I recognize my value as a man (no doubt more than I did 8 months ago) and I don't want to waste my time on someone with such open hostility towards a stranger. Even if I would have crafted the perfect tone to get off the app and on a date, I wouldn't want that date if I had knowledge that this shitty attitude is under th…

100% agree, I've had far more success meeting people through friend groups or at clubs than I've ever had on these apps, the difference is crazy and game changing. I appreciate you telling me your straight up opinion, even if idgaf about the exchange and was just curious, it makes sense that that is what it communicates.

Thanks for the gas homie ✌ I stay away from super likes these days for sure. I've never had a negative Tinder exchange like this so I was surprised and wanting to understand the interaction more than anything.

Hahaha yeah it was a trash opener, I definitely phoned that shit in. I guess in my mind it was the next natural step in the conversation. She said super likes don't work, so if the super like didn't work, then what did. I guess a better question would have been why are you wasting my time with a bad attitude 8 months later. Most definitely shot myself in the foot on this convo for a few different reasons, but given her response I don't think I'm missing out on this one. I think I learned a littl…

You meditate by sitting with and simply noticing the sensations in your body, as well as your thoughts and emotions. Don't change a thing about what comes up in your body or mind -- simply observe, make a mental note, and move on, not holding on to any one sensation for too long. Start small -- 30 seconds to 1 minute to 3 to 5 to 7 to 10 minutes to 20. It might not feel helpful at first because you're not immediately solving your problems, but you're priming your brain to think in a more efficie…

The answer is yes, but the way in which you're thinking is crucial. Integration is essential either way, but it's as much about training your brain to respond to negative emotions, automatic thinking, and limiting beliefs in a way that's adaptive, as it is about corrective problem-solving. We're both talking about neuroplasticity and learning essentially -- but you seem to be talking about cognitive, top-down problem solving, and I'm talking about somatic, bottom-up problem solving that happens …

No problem! I assess, provide information, and make recommendations for what treatment groups are clinically appropriate for PC patients who have received referrals for mindfulness-based therapies, so this is quite literally my job. Glad it's helpful -- the end goal is to not just meditate, but to live mindfully even when you're not meditating, so have fun with it and don't pressure yourself with too much too soon. 🙂

Yes they do! Calm is also good. I have a friend who used to work for the researchers who developed Headspace and one of their biggest problems is retention -- people have a hard time folding it into their lives in a way that's long-lasting, but the apps can be good for getting some immediate relief or understanding what it feels like to enter a mindful state. If you're interested look into David Creswell, he's the head researcher on Headspace and he has a fantastic talk on YT.

Okay so this is my passion and my day job, so the bulk of my knowledge on meditation has to do with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, rather than meditation in the context of religion. From this perspective, meditation at it's core is about becoming aware of how your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and bodily sensations relate to each other, and how an imbalance amongst these things creates unnecessary suffering. By dropping into awareness of the body first, you create a channel for the body to …

Meditation is incredible, it can rewire your entire brain and body from your neural connections and structures, to your nervous system and internal organs. That said, it's definitely not right for everyone at all times -- ESPECIALLY if an individual suffers from trauma or a psychiatric disorder. When a man can safely practice meditation, it also makes emotional space for his inner feminine to feel safe, which in turn gives him the ability to make emotional space for the femininity of an outer wo…

That sounds like a fun shirt, owning tf out of a loud piece of clothing like that can definitely make it work. Fit is so important too -- I'll pick an ugly tight fitting shirt over a loose decent-looking shirt most times because I just feel better in my skin that way. Edit: But idk, for me personally BRIGHT bright red just screams "Hot Wheels," or "my mom bought this for me at Walmart and it was on sale."
