1	/r/pregnant mods pushing circumcision Thanks, I see what you're saying. I suppose I disagree that circumcision qualifies for a label as incendiary as "mutilation". That term, to me, implies the practice will impede a child's normal life, but the Jews, as I have mentioned, have proven it no impediment. This is important because we can all readily agree that parent's rights do not extend to, say, cutting off a child's arm. Ear piercing technically qualifies as mutilation, but few object to that. 1	/r/pregnant mods pushing circumcision I already addressed all this, I think. These are baby boys, not men. And again, it is not women as a group that are fostering this practice (which, again, I do not advocate), but those baby boys' own fathers. And virtually all of those fathers do it because they love the child and think it is best. So far you seem to be saying it's not because we don't let parents do anything they want, but that doesn't address why we shouldn't let them do this specific thing. Some parents want their sons circumcised for religious reasons, some for cultural reasons, some don't want it done for health or other reasons. Great! To each his own.
