Right? I know some men do find therapy helpful, but that's always my go-to thought when it comes to this sort of discourse. It drives me nuts how people have gotten to the point where they think therapy should just be the first step literally everyone takes any time they have any struggles at all. It's become increasingly common for young women to all be in therapy, regardless of what's going on in their lives, as if it's just something everyone is meant to do all the time. And they project that…

Yeah. I appreciate what OP has said, but I also raised an eyebrow at that bit, because it seemed so odd. The implication seems to be that, as a woman, it's strange for her to be upset about something which hurts men. And like I said, it's a good thing that she is upset by it. That shows that she cares. But her surprise at the fact that she does care kind of demonstrates the problem. It should be completely normal for a person to care about the problems suffered by other kinds of people. That's a…

Yeah, it's tough. It's true even if you set aside the kind of people who say things like people in this thread are talking about. Like, obviously it's terrible to open up to someone and be told to man up, or told that men shouldn't cry, or otherwise dismissed as your feelings being unimportant. But even if we think about scenarios where the people you open up to are very understanding and sympathetic, there's still a problem. Because like you say, if you fall apart, people lose respect for you, …

This is tangential, but I think it's important. Feminists love to try to dismiss the problems men face (as usual) by blaming those problems on other men. For one, that's irrelevant, because even if it's only men causing a problem for other men, that's still a problem in society which should take all of society to address. The same way all of society is expected to help when it comes to women's issues. We don't just say, "fuck you women, sort it out yourselves". But second, in many cases, it's no…

One of those assumptions is based on statistical reality. The other is based on prejudice. Not remotely the same thing. The vast majority of relationships have the man working and paying the bills. That's just the reality of the world we live in. So assuming that to be the case isn't really a problem. If a woman is complaining about her husband not helping out enough around the house, it's reasonable to ask if he's the one paying the bills, and therefore contributing a reasonable amount already.…

Right. That's my main issue. People assuming that OP is a man, because the other person in the relationship is a woman? I don't take issue with that. People assuming that the woman has already asked OP to fix it many times? That's fucking stupid. But whatever. The real meat of the issue is that, as usual, these people have no consistency and no principles. When it suits them, they will screech about gender norms being oppressive and misogynistic. But any time a gender norm benefits them, they ar…

Not to mention that their point is irrelevant even if they were correct about those assumptions. These are the women who push for a world without gender roles. So, given that, why is it okay with them for the woman to repeatedly ask her husband to fix something, instead of fucking fixing it herself? They are always on board for gender roles when it suits them, and otherwise, they screech misogyny about them.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
