...but they very clearly said she wasn't in the vehicle yet. I'm all for holding everyone accountable for their actions but this is a stretch. Her driver lightly hit a police vehicle with no damage when pulling up to pick her up. I see no reason why she should be missing a flight.

I agree with this almost completely. My only exception would be that it could be the ex's actions throwing you off more than hers. Either way, I think you should follow your own advice and bail.
