I agree that sometimes, over-analysing can mess your game and make you even more self-concious. However, I think a good part of the learning process REQUIRES that you make the mental effort to look back on your approaches and understand what works and what doesn't so that you avoid repeating the same mistakes. The worst thing that can happen when learning the game is to NOT realize when you make mistakes. When you do go out, you make a conscious effort to try some new stuff and avoid your shortc…

I disagree. I think it's important to analyse what happens otherwise, you keep repeating the same mistakes. Alot of times, I write these FR and I don't get any useful feedback, but it's still useful being able to put into words what I've experienced. I agree with you it's more important to go out than to keep analysing. However, when you start analysing what works and what doesn't, you're suddenly able to put into a real-life situation what you've read about so it makes your inner game that much…

Also, I didn't want to get into anything too heavy at first. Because of the logistics, I knew I had maybe 3 minutes at most to make the best of it. In retrospect, I could've stayed a bit after receiving my order, but the pressure to eject was too strong. That's lack of confidence right there, but I'm getting better at it now since I can actually recognize where I go wrong.

Yes, day game is awesome, because they don't expect you to hit on them (as they would in a bar), so the conversation can get real friendly very easily. I always keep my body at about 45 degree angle with my head turned towards her so that I don't invade her space too much at first. I also forgot to mention that I deliberately kino'ed her elbow when we spoke and it definitely made me look more sociable and friendly. I think it's good to be aware of these things at first and make the effort to doc…

Yea I didn't think of that. This is a workplace cafeteria on a huge campus. People usually get their stuff and eat in their own lunch room. I should have asked her though.

Why, oh why would you text so much without proposing something to do. You're just hurting your chances the longer it goes! The stuff you said would have been good stuff if it had been face to face! Over text, it loses all its meaning since you can't escalate! The longer it goes without you escalating, the more she'll see you as a friend! The texts are fine, but cut it short! Don't text so much!

That being said, was my wording good enough to be cocky funny and should I just work on delivery/state and smiling/touching more? I noticed yesterday I was too serious in the delivery of some of the lines, which might get her to misinterpret my intentions. (playful as opposed to judgemental)

Out of curiosity, how would you have played the movie part?

I'm aware that I'm coming off as overly judgemental when I'm trying to be cocky funny which is why I'm asking the seddit community for alternative ways of playfully teasing her. I'm not sure if she's diabetic or not, but I can assure you she did not take anything I said the wrong way! No feelings were hurt! I don't think she's super into me. I think she might find me somewhat interesting as a person, but only because boys her age give her so much attention and I don't. I actually try to act aloo…

Agreed. And I even said the same during our conversation. It went something like this: Guy: It doesn't happen very often that there are more guys than girls in a dance class. Me looking at HB8: Yea, 2 guys just for you. How lucky are you?! She laughs Me: It's simple really. You'll find more girls than guys taking dance lessons, because girls like to dance. But you'll find more guys than girls in dancing clubs because guys like to flirt! I don't know how good of a line it was, but I think it allo…

I'm 29, but look like 25 or so. They do serve alcohol, but very few people get drunk. They go there to dance, which is why it's so much easier to approach than in a typical bar/club. What do you need explained? I used to always ask their names and introduce myself. I thought it was the assertive way to present myself. I found out introducing yourself like that is conductive to boring talk. Instead, I find that it's better to focus on interesting talk. Noone cares about your name and you don't ca…

That's what I do usually. Girls are much more self-concious about their moves than guys are anyway. If you lead the way and make them feel comfortable, even if you mess up, noone care...cause the messed up move is part of your repertoire...or so she thinks! In any case, I'm not worried about my dancing skills at all. I think I do just fine with that. But I do need help with everything else though in the way of interacting. To be honest, I used to use dancing as a crutch to approach, and that's w…

The Japanese porn bit is too bold for me. I don't think I'm there yet. I was under the impression that you had to avoid any conversations about work/education/weather because they always end up so boring and neither of us is really interested anyway. Isn't that what most AFCs talk about? I mean, sometimes, it does get to that, but I try to branch out whenever possible.

Can you expand on point 8 or how to handle the situation? While I agree that ejecting early is a big problem for most newbies, I do feel like staying no matter what can make it look like you're trying too hard and are a bit desperate. I think the reasoning is that by ejecting after you've build some interest shows that you're leaving on your own terms, that you've can chill with other people as well and you're not hung up on her. Then, when you do see her again, it's that much easier to build in…
