I went to a marriage counselor once; we took a survey beforehand. All it told us was we were severely incompatible, and we agreed to separate the next day. By the time you realize you need marriage counseling, it is already too late.

Just teach them self worth and confidence, they'll figure out the rest.

Big ooof, true though. Let my wife convince me on our third. Didn't know she wanted to save the marriage just thought she wanted 3 kids. We both came from a family of three.

You have to feel it to get through it. You're in the manic phase right now. It does get better, keep working out and on yourself.

I have 3 kids and found a woman who wanted kids but couldn't have them. Trust me they are out there and it is wonderful. You have am advantage being a great single dad is so attractive to woman, you might have to just a little bit older though. Online dating is a shit show. Volunteer or do things by yourself that you are passionate about and you'll find a great woman that will share in that passion which is always a great starting place for any relationship.

2 months out of the request to separate and I feel exactly the same way. I have SO MUCH anger and resentment when I'm in physical proximity and it's tough since we still live together with 3 kids (she just put an offer on the house). I'm just taking it day by day and telling myself if she triggers me she wins. But ultimately I want her to find her happiness.

You have to feel it to get through it. Make sure you experience each of the stages of grief. Don't hide away or avoid with alcohol or drugs. Just breathe, live day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute if you have to. It's gonna suck but you will get through it and be a better person.

Just discovered my SBXW is a narcissistic. Gaslit me for the last 2-3 of marriage about feeling different about me even though I knew something was up to the point where I thought I couldn't recognize or receive love. I do suffer from PTSD and thought that was a symptom. Her only response now is, I did love you it was just a different kind of love. Fuck that. I know what real love feels like because I found someone I truly click with and what a difference it makes for my emotional well being.

Church and school do seem odd and you can attend both. She is well within her rights on the meals and house. But get this, she's trying to hurt you by being friendly and pushing those boundaries. Don't linger next time and keep it strictly business.

Atlanta, I've been here almost 20 years and it's always been great for single guys.

I've had that thought many times, when my STBXW admitted she was fucking someone already, THANKS BUMBLE, I almost lost my shit. Thank god I didn't and realized that what she is pursuing is hollow validation and to keep working on myself. Plus where I live it's a 10-1 ratio of single women to guys. So when it's time she wants actual relationship she will find it very difficult.

Everytime my STBX gets mad or doesn't get her way, I'm controlling her. Fuckin glad to hear I'm not the only one.

Keep your head up, keep busy, keep working on yourself. Don't dwell on the past or what you could have done differently. Go volunteer on things you are passionate about, it helps you through the loneliness and you may meet someone with similar interests. Keep moving forward, keep believing in yourself, and reach out to your support network and above all else if you have kids focus on them and creating a safe haven for them as well. You will get through this and be a better stronger person. Hope …

I'm in that transition period now and starting to realize we are better people and parents apart. It also helps I met someone I really like and she really likes me and we are taking it suuuuuuuuper slow. Good thing is we have so many mutual things in common and it is really helping me through the final phase of depression.

Go before kids, and do it sooner rather than later. You're still young. She sounds super toxic and controlling and it's only going to get worse.

Offer to give her a massage. It will take the pressure of off you and really warm her up.
