Ah, it's cool. Lol, my bad

Both situations would be extremely violent and wrong. Infidelity ≠ Assault

So... narcissism and violence are inherently masculine traits? That's a bit sexist bud.

Damn, that's sad. I rarely see that happen in my everyday life but then again I don't regularly hang out with women and whilst I've noticed misandrist double standards from older female relatives I just assumed that it was a "born in a different time" sort of thing. Sadly that seems to not be the case, gosh that's gross

I can relate to some of these, specifically the not finding unnatural hair colours attractive, demonisation of femininity (even tho I'm not very feminine myself) and finding the anti man sentiment to be off-putting

OK, but that still doesn't explain what you mean by leading. How does one lead a relationship?
/r/AntiFeminists20/12/21 10:08 AM

But specify. What are examples of leading in a relationship? What is helping out when necessary ? Do you mean specifically the 60s traditional thing of the man providing income, making decisions and only really being needed in his house to fix something whilst the wife cooks and cleans on a regular basis while looking pretty? Not criticising I'm trying to understand what you mean by taking the lead and bringing harmony cos I was always taught that was the job of both parties. Make decisions toge…

Yea, that's understandable ig. You're aware weed isn't dangerous though right? Or do you just have an aversion to any recreational drug?

I'm going to disagree with that last statement. But I'm curious what you consider the man's role in a relationship vs the woman's role.

I... have no words. It's not all women but the fact that it's so many women is terrible. Have you met women who hold these same viewpoints in real life?

Sure ig. You do you, pal.

That's what masculinity is usually associated with tho. When I think peak mass I think lumberjacks, body builders and bikers. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Like I said, I don't know so I asked them to elaborate.

Beer, immense physical activity, body hair, aggression, unpleasant smells, lumberjacks, health etc.

So being overly political and abusing substances?

I don't know... that's why I asked for elaboration.

So what would be your idea of feminine if wearing the pants in a relationship or having a gender equality mindset is masculine?

Tattoos, piercings and independence is masculine?

How is the definition of consent ambiguous?

I doubt that you'll lose all muscle strength because you switch to a vegan diet. It's hard to maintain muscle mass on a vegan diet but not impossible.

I didn't say you did say that... I'm just giving reasons why it might be difficult for him to just dissappear.

So... a minor had sex with other minors just to be charged with rape later?? I'm sorry but I feel like I'm missing some content. What country/state did this take place in and what were the ages of all parties during the alleged assault. Was the act confirmed to be consensual or not? Is there a link to the article or any interviews? Depending on the situation this could be a huge miscarriage of justice and if so we need to spread awareness about this.
/r/MensRights22/11/21 04:50 PM

He shouldn't have to dissappear without a trace to get out of an abusive relationship. If they're married then they probably share friends, certain family members, possibly finances etc. To dissappear he'd have to leave all that stuff behind and start over.

Record all you phone calls with her, record conversations with her. Make sure you have evidence or you might be overlooked and yes, it's likely that they'll take her side if she accuses you of something.

So those who conform to gender roles, those who don't attend queer protests and pride events and those who commit themselves to spreading awareness about men's issues... they're not included in this I guess?

Firstly, you didn't answer my question. Secondly, can you please link to a reputable study instead of a single graph, I'd also like to know if this was a study done on the just the women living in New Zealand or in other countries too.

I mean, I went to a same sex school and had "friends" hold me down and force feed me a sandwich because I wasn't hungry that day. Or that time they spread a bunch of rumours about me in school causing me to lose some of my closest friends for the remainder of secondary school (2 years). Even now I'm older I've had women joke about how disgusting my body is, how disgusting my boyfriend is and just a bunch of unsolicited "advice". When I say "being mean" I am being very compassionate with that ter…

Yeah... women can be absolutely awful to each other. Men can be mean too but at least they're mean to your face, women are nice to your face but mean behind your back then turn around and blame you for making them talk about you. Probably projecting a little, that's just been my experience.

I've personally rarely had men to fall back on, I usually just fall back on women. Despite getting along better with men I find that most lack experience when consoling the emotions of and expressing their sympathy. I do try to be there for male friends however and on occasion they do open up but most seem to supress their emotions or change subject. Can't speak for men falling on other men though, maybe guy friends just won't speak to me about their issues cos I'm female?

Mhm, sure. How about instead of just saying "Men are violent and dangerous, it's no wonder OP feels this way" we try and figure out why so many men are committing violent crimes as well as encourage men to express emotions and make therapy for men more accessible and less stigmatised. Also, it's people like OP that make men feel unable to be open about their emotions and mental health.

I meant the different types of men. Sporty, beer drinking jocks? That's great. Hairy, out-doorsy lumberjack? That's great. Fashionable, flaming, drag queen? That's great. Introverted, hoodie-loving gamer? That's great. Passionate, eccentric artist? That's great. Trans dude? Still great. Basically I meant that all forms of men's personal expression is valid in reply to you saying you didn't fit my "cookie cutter" definition of a man. I do agree that we should correct the behaviour of asshole men …

I'm a demi-girl, pal. I don't have a cookie cutter definition of a man, all men are great and they are men as long as they feel like one. What I can't take seriously, however, is you trying to justify ignoring the issues of men by pointing towards other groups in a subreddit specifically about Men's rights. Go find a feminist subreddit if you want to talk about toxic masculinity and how bad other men are.
/r/MensRights20/11/21 09:16 PM

Just because other groups have historically had it worse does not mean that men's social and political issues should be ignored. Most suicide victims, incarcerated, victims of violent attacks, victims of workplace injury are men and yet these things aren't taken seriously by others because "they're men". The fact that these things are happening and nobody is saying anything is a huge issue and we're asking that be acknowledged and addressed. The greater suffering of one group does not negate the…

I just want to point out that women also pay taxes and do exist in each of the professions you've listed (though I will admit those professions are extremely male dominated). But question, if men did revolt and storm the palaces who would they be confronting? Aren't most people in positions of power just other men?

No offence but she doesn't seem like a great friend. Is she always sexist?

I've always taken the "It's okay to look, just don't touch" philosophy. As someone who enjoys women I find it can be difficult to look away when an especially bouncy lady walks past with her cleave displayed or even when scrolling through social media and seeing an attractive woman's bikini pics. I don't think it's a crime to admire from a distance but the line is drawn at what actions you take afterwards. You don't harass, you don't point, you don't touch and if you're having a conversation wit…

I feel like the issues mentioned above don't effect men of upper class men because they can afford protection, healthcare and are treated better overall than poorer men (especially since men's value in society is often dependent their earning potential and status). Also, no... I refuse to believe that all men are just inherently polygamous, promiscuous and competitive ( I say this as someone who freely hands it out and do get men who admit they'd prefer a committed, monogamous relationship ) . I…
