straight up, you will most likely be judged with consideration of how old you are, but if you're up front about it it's best. My best (girl) friend is in the mode of just wanting a casual sex partner and is hooking up with someone. I'm forgetting how she met him though. They talked about protection and if they both wanted to hook up with other people.

10- sometimes she might honestly be busy so a caveat of "respectful interruption " might be better? I've been made flustered and anxious and uncomfortable when it's not a good time. Just my experience.

Engaged listening. Eye contact. Smiling at her.

Yes that's the gist. I think in your post you're also touching on how their issues trigger your issues and whether it's healthy or not. Yours play a factor just as much. How are you responding to neediness and clinginess, is it a good use of your emotional resources and how does it fit in with who you're trying to be? Who you want to be? Personally I'm trying to make the world suck less, by making those around me that I care about happy. My "need" to help has caused issues, so I have to learn to…

Find out if she's traveled. Where she likes to go and what the most interesting thing she's seen or eaten is.

I would counter and say it's a good way to share music you love with her if she's open to it, and potentially create a common interest.

Ask if she's training for anything in particular. Ask her out for a coffee and learn more about her if she's available.

Alexbass96 has a good definition. I would also like to add being able to process the emotions and where they're coming from, and knowing how to handle them if needed. To be emotionally in tune with others around you and notice cues.
