I know exactly what you mean. I had a similar situation in high school with three circles of friends (jocks that sometimes drank, nerdy friends, and hard party drug/drinking friends). I kept the circles pretty much separate until after high school when a lot of us all went to either the same college or a nearby college and we started mixing together. Great times being all together. Should've done it sooner.

I agree that there are many non college options that are not only viable, but lucrative. I personally considered being a welder before going to school because many people in my family do it and make bank. However, I wanted to work more in finance and college (with 1/2 payed for from scholarships) was the best option for me. I then worked 30-40 hours per week to cover most of the other half of college costs. Many of the people I know that went to college would have been better off without it. The…

My understanding is that, iin general, it is a profession that is high in demand, but you should do your own research, particularly for the geographic market you want to work in. Best of luck to ya.

It's so obvious that most of the negative replies are from people who know almost nothing about finance. Probably Chad wannabes that live paycheck to paycheck.

Not OP but the best advice I would give is two fold. (1) Do not fall into the notion that college is where you're supposed to live care free and find yourself. You should view college as an investment (especially since you are likely paying some out of pocket $$ to be there); therefore, you should expect a return. (2) Obtain a degree that is in demand and pays well. It's hard to go wrong with STEM degrees but there are others that can be worthwhile as well. If you plan to study dance because you…

There seems to be a lot of good advice in here already. I'll just throw in that for me the two biggest things are (1) making myself actually get out of the bed and (2) having as much prepared as possibly the night before. For number one, I set my alarm (phone) away where I cannot reach it from bed. I actually have to take a couple of steps to reach it. This method helped me tremendously. Before, I would wake up, dismiss/snooze the alarm, then have an intense mental battle of "I need to get up" a…

Im not interested in other people, and more importantly, I dont have TIME to be interested in them. That's why no one (men nor women) like you either. I dont smile because most of the time I am serious and focused. Gee. I bet you're a fun guy to be around. See point 1. Repeating a persons name is key. Ill give you this one. Good for you. "be good at conversation". Wow great fucking advice. Some people aren't good at it, such as yourself. See point 1. No dont tell a person what they want to hear.…

Probably because the vast majority of the people that come through here are significantly overweight? It's not like OP and the rest of us don't know tiny dudes and skinny-fat guys pass through here as well. It's probably just simpler for the OP to cater to the majority instead of writing every alternative reason for why you should be hitting the gym.

Hopefully he was at least adding that to the bar? The bar weighs around 20kgs.

A point about that "I see X skinny person eat SO much food": I've loved and been good friends with many guys and girls that claim to be that type of person, but what a lot of outsiders don't notice is that they usually eat one bigger meal. For example: my past three roommates have been those that think "I j just can't gain weight." So, I started watching what they ate throughout the day. None of them ate any breakfast (they might have some coffee). They would usually have a large lunch (which is…

That's what I was thinking lol. I mean if you can't, fine. You gotta start somewhere, but it shouldn't be the norm for grown men, even if you have never worked out. Edit: a word

I know what defamation is; you do not know the difference between a crime and a tort (a civil wrong). For the U.K., still a tort. Edit: Since you edited during my response. Why are you linking about Italy and Norway? You know Belfast is in Northern Ireland, yes? Edit 2: Are you gonna show me some Shariah Law next? This offense occurred in the U.K., so, why would you think linking to laws outside the U.K. are proof of your correctness?

Sorry, but no. Defamation is a tort, not a crime. Edit: a word

Slander is not a crime; it is a tort. Meaning, you can sue in civil court for damages to your reputation, but someone cannot be jailed over it.

Prenups are almost always upheld here in the States. This not bring effective belief that floats around here is ridiculous. Ignore it

The jury decided the verdict, not the judge. The judge only gave the sentence. Overturning a jury verdict is a big deal.

It's mostly kids that have never read a finance book. I own precious metals, but there is no question that stocks make the highest returns over long periods of time.

I really hope people don't listen to you. This is horrible advise. This whole doom and gloom on the stock market is ridiculous. If you seriously think all the businesses will just go under in the blink of an eye, you should just quit posting. You won't make money off precious metals. It should be used as a hedge against economic downturns (no more than 10% in your portfolio). I too like bitcoin, but now is not the time to put all of your money into it, either. If people really want to prepare fo…

Not exactly correct. A judge is still required to follow the laws of the state, regardless that division of property is a question of equity. The reason the judge has so much discretion is because most states grant the judge broad discretion. For instance, it is common to find a family law statue declaring the division of property to be divided equally unless the court finds such division to be inequitable. The point being, divorce rape happens because people allow laws to pass that grant judges…

Actually, rape laws originally had a clause that said "not his wife." A rape statute would real along the lines of, Rape: a man commits the act of rape when he has deviate sexual intercourse with a woman, not his wife, by force and without her consent.

Overall, I really liked your comment. Your points are well taken. Thank you. Below, I make just a quick point. Do prenups work? It's a crap shoot really. What if you live in a state like Kentucky when you marry but then move to New Jersey where there is alimony? Your prenup probably won't cover that. Or if she leaves you and then resides in another state and then files in that state then you've got to deal with their laws. One can remedy this fear with a clause stating the governing state law.

Have a downvote. The family lawyer I worked for is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He helped plenty of fathers get custody of their kids too. Edit: Also, just because you think we're gonna enter an era of prenuptials being struck down doesn't make it so.

If a feminist is using the phrase "men can stop it," when referring to abuse, it would make absolutely no sense to be referring to male on male abuse. [Not to suggest feminists make much sense/use logic and reasoning, but even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while.] If "men can stop it" was referring to male on male abuse, there would be zero logic because obviously one male will be superior. Thus, one can infer that "they can stop it" is said in reference to female on male abuse. I th…

This is true, but I did enjoy how "anyone" is italicized, bringing emphasis to the word." I still regularly meet feminists who don't think men can be victims of domestic abuse because "they can stop it." This language implicitly means they are applying it to female on male abuse because I have never witnessed that language regarding male on male abuse.

Hi, I'm new to RP and RPW so I didn't know if this comment actually belonged in your post concerning your submissive significant other. I was going to suggest that since he is only 20 ,there are likely many manly things he doesn't know how to do and that learning to do some of them now might lead him to feel more masculine. For example, can he do his own laundry? There is nothing wrong with you doing laundry for him when y'all are together, but he should know how to do it, especially since y'all…
