As far as I'm concerned, Prison inmates should have next to no rights. They can get food and water, oxygen and just enough warmth to stop death. I don't really think this is as much of a "Mens Rights" issue as a "Prison Rights" issue.

Guns aren't legal in every country. I think, given the actual likelihood of getting raped walking home (which I assume is pretty low), it's not a really good item to stop rape but it is a really good confidence booster. I think it's supposed to stop the fear, not the act.
