This is a really important idea to internalize. If you’re not the type of guy that commits to exclusive LTRs, girls you’re seeing are going to drop off sometimes to chase after relationships, career goals, new cities, etc. It’s so important to keep a cool head and not act desperate or needy during these periods. Just let them come and go as they please, keep the door open, and don’t get wacky or weird with them. Being nonchalant and friendly always yields the best outcomes.

I’ve only read his “Simple Path to Wealth” book, but it’s definitely in the realm of actually useful advice that I see in the self improvement space.

You’re getting older and realizing that you have things to lose, including the opportunity cost of making your own life better in pursuit of dating in your prime years. I think it just makes your standards / vetting process more strict. My advice would be to find new ways to get out of the house and socialize in groups where people have the same interests as you.

Built up a pretty nice net worth, letting off the gas because of how amazing it’s been this summer. Lift harder. Learn more about data and computers. Keep filling your roster.

It’s mostly lack of options and differences in social safety nets. Whether we like it or not, women do bring men some social and emotional support in relationships. Once they’re gone, it’s back out into the cold hard world for us while they commiserate with their girlfriends and families.

It’s simple - if I get my work done, pay my bills, save and invest, and get my training in, I give myself a hall pass to do whatever I want. If that’s video games, so be it. They CANNOT come before career and fitness. And you should really be using your spare time to network and socialize more. But as a video game lover, I understand.

You need to gain status in some sort of interest group where there are women present. Wine clubs. Fitness clubs. Make friends with bartenders. Make friends with wedding catering companies, etc.

If the girl you’re dating says she isn’t attracted to you, the relationship’s already over and her respect has been long gone. You need to proactively break it off and cut contact to get out with a shred of dignity. Write out a heavy lifting and training routine, push yourself to exhaustion. Keep leveling up your professional skills.

Been going to more parties lately, not drinking too heavily, but just talking with people. Reading Peter Lynch’s work right now. Bench 245, Squat 405, have not done a deadlift max recently because of a distant back injury. My mission is to become financially independent as quickly as possible, then travel and meet more women and new friends. Getting my frugal/grind phase out of the way now, but want to be full on self-employed with big bankroll to protect my quality of life into the future.

I’ve fallen into a routine that’s just way too comfortable and I’m on maintenance mode right now. Work, workout, eat, scroll, sleep. I need to put myself in semi-uncomfortable social situations again and potentially move.

My thoughts on the “no skills” thing - start yourself off in a service role or industry where you have to socialize with a lot of people who want something from you (bartending, high end waiting, tennis and golf tournaments). Preferably wealthy people if you can. Not only do you get paid, but you get put in positions to meet loads of different people in an environment where they go to relax and enjoy themselves. If you start asking people what they do, you’ll get more options and direction for y…

Some of the original contributions and posts on these forums literally changed my life. It was the one place I felt like I could get rational, pragmatic advice on understanding how the world really works, but most importantly, what I should do about it. Happy to give back what I can. There are a lot of things wrong with the world, but you can only whine about them for so long before you get fed up and choose to do something about it.

RP is a philosophy, not a set of iron fisted commands - whether or not someone should cheat on their partner is the decision of that individual. My personal stance is that cheating behind your partner’s back leads to unnecessary problems, and it’s wiser to state that you want an open arrangement up front, then give them the option to take it or leave it. Which is also why I don’t advocate for marriage, since I don’t want to be with one person for my whole life and risk the downside of losing my …

Cheating behind your wife’s back is a stupid move if you’ve agreed on exclusivity, there’s way too much liability to lose your shirt in a messy divorce - plus, if you’re actually working and in the gym, it’s too much ducking and stressing to be worth the energy. I don’t advocate for men getting married in general, though. Downside dwarfs the upside in most cases.

Compounding is the most powerful force in the universe. Your 30s are the point where the habits you formed in your late teens and 20s start to either pay dividends or charge interest. I’m approaching 30 and have been saving, investing, studying, and exercising for over a decade. In a few years, I’ll be able to “coast” since I’ve been frugal and disciplined. Stay the course, gentlemen.

100% agree with this comment. Trying to find cherry-picked videos of women airing out their dirty laundry is a complete waste of time. Most of the women in those videos are handpicked because they’re extremely low class. OP - Get in great shape, nail down a social hobby (like golf), travel, become an expert in your field of choice, build up your net worth, and make as many respected allies as possible. That should occupy you plenty.

Agree with this. I see it as a repository of empirical truths that mainstream society ignores because they’re uncomfortable to openly address. Blue pill is idealism. Red pill is reality and a framework for dealing with it to get results. Purple pill is accepting the red pill as truth, but still choosing to live under the blue pill because it coarsens you.

Game doesn’t matter at all if you don’t meet the other person’s looks standard. Hot guy is charming, ugly guy is creepy even if they both use the same tactics. Lack of game will cause quick turnover or a sudden loss of interest, though, even if you look good. Looks are your resume, game is the job interview.

They seem to market themselves as BP, but the way they behave is pretty darn RP. Once you think through the science of mating strategies logically, it all makes a ton of sense. Women are burdened with child bearing, so they want to make sure they’re giving their child the best chance of survival & genes possible by mating with men who are competent, attractive, strong, tall, well-connected, and have the ability to provide. On the other hand, men don’t have to bear children, so their role in ensu…

You know what’s funny? Chris Hemsworth and MBJ get yanked around by women on occasion too. Some women just like to toy with men and see if they can poke holes in them. There was a podcast where guys were talking about seeing Trey Songz get rejected at a party. The premise here is correct, though. She isn’t really interested in you because she thinks she has better options with higher value. Some women are better at game than others, but the ones that like you won’t be too hard to reach. Don’t “chase” them, just make a confident approach if you see some IOIs and get their number to set up a date. You should be able to go about this pretty casually. You keep them unsure of where you stand by not being readily available and not being emotional or insecure, and by having other interesting things going on with work and your personal life.

Here’s my suggestion to you: Keep her on the back burner as a plate if you’re not emotionally invested, but put her at the bottom of your priority list. Keep seeing other women ahead of her and prioritize your fitness, social circle, and finances. Now that she has crawled back, you have all the leverage in this relationship. EDIT: If you are emotionally attached or invested, cut her off altogether.

I like this post OP! Agree here. The goal of using social media is to show that you’re a) physically attractive and fashionable, b) have a social life of abundance, and c) lead an active, adventurous, accomplished lifestyle that people want to be a part of. Shirtless gym pics, in my experience, aren’t a good use of social media real estate compared to travel or nightlife. The only time I’d post a shirtless pic is if someone else took it of me in an organic setting.

I’m also a finance bro. It kills two birds with one stone - high earning potential, and financial literacy, both of which are necessary for getting wealthy. You also have a strong network of people who are focused on similar priorities, since finance selects for people who have social appeal. More money = better food, better hobbies, better health, better women.

Honestly, he has some blame to take for this situation. Not that his wife should be scheming behind his back, but he is responsible for making and keeping himself attractive. Some men get married and become complacent because they no longer have to put in work to get laid consistently. What they don’t realize is that they’re in an even worse position than if they didn’t get married. Their heart is about to get broken and their net worth is about to landslide.

See what happened with Tom Brady recently, too? Sources think she was seeing the other dude before the divorce was initiated. He’s 6’4”, a QB, handsome, charismatic, wealthy, and the best football player of all time. Everything and more still wasn’t enough. And let’s not forget Will Smith.

Both killer posts from your end, Bunny. People get bored of something when they’re no longer stimulated or challenged by it, and women are no different. This is what posters here mean when they say you need to establish and hold frame - she needs to be a small part of your exciting, mysterious, and dynamic lifestyle. Once you become redundant, predictable, and easy to figure out, the challenge is finished - you’ll either end up as beta bucks or get nexted altogether.

It’s getting worse, too. Social media has them believing that the average man is walking around at 6’6”, earning 6-7 figures, handsome, popular, in shape, etc. A girl’s dating standards are based around the best option that she’s gotten attention from. That D1 athlete who responded to her DM and texted with her for a bit is who she expects to be with.

This is the brutal reality of being a red pill man - either you choose to be in relationships with the knowledge that women’s hypergamy is always forcing them to consider whether they got their best option, or you can “spin plates” and accept that you’ll never have love in your life. Price is what you pay, value is what you get. Biggest mistake I used to make was being too available and spending too much time out on dates. This subconsciously tells the girls you’re out with that your time isn’t that valuable, which is a turnoff. It’s funny how investing less time and resources often leads to better outcomes with dating.
/r/TheRedPill25/03/24 11:08 PM

Correct, you just have to accept this. This lens will help you see dating for what it is, all while protecting your assets and sanity in the process. I will add though, many women out there are fun, interesting, and make for great company. There’s no reason to be bitter or upset that they’re usually attracted to height, looks, status, charisma and resources. Changing your perspective helps, too, though. Lead with your money and you’ll attract girls for your money. What other interesting attributes do you have that women value? Go hiking, go on coffee dates, take them to happy hour, etc. But also, yeah, most women are attracted to resources and want a man who is willing to provide. If you accept that, then you use your money to pull them and break it off after they start pushing for commitment.

It’s absolutely insane to see the kind of treatment you get when you’re her top option. I’ve had a girl try to invite herself over and bang down my door before. How do you become her top option? Not only should you withdraw, you need to get a hotter chick than her and use social media to subtly flex it. Not just another chick, a hotter chick. If you can’t, then you probably need to get your money up, get ripped, and get in some better social groups.
/r/TheRedPill19/03/24 11:41 PM

Thanks for the nod here - my return on investment guys know how it’s done. When you’re on the date, you want to be suave and show up looking like you can rub two nickels together. You should only be seeing a girl once a week and spend the rest of your time making money, getting ripped, and making industry connections. This makes your personal quality of life better and helps you get better results with dating while investing less time and resources up front.
/r/TheRedPill16/03/24 09:57 PM

Spot on and thanks for the nod. I like your note that frugality is NEVER sexy, but you can be frugal behind the scenes and splurge a bit when you’re with her. That’s why I advocate for being unavailable most of the time. Saves you time and money, shows her that your time is valuable.

When I was starting off in the city on a tight budget, I would usually do the following and it worked well: 1) First date out - take them to a bar where I knew the bartender or there was a happy hour. Spend about 1-2 hours on the date making casual conversation, then say I had to wrap up something for work and drop them back off at home. I think “repurposed” is a better term than “gave up” to describe my situation. My time is now almost entirely focused on 1) reaching financial independence and 2) staying as fit and healthy as I can. The time that I used to spend going out to meet women has been replaced by working, learning, exercising, or exploring hobbies. Also - what women say they want isn’t what they go after. Good stuff as always, Unc! My stance: Being dependent on high SMV and acting aloof works well for short-term flings, but I wouldn’t say it does for LTRs/marriages. If you’re giving her little to no investment and have a high SMV, most girls will push for a relationship, realize they’re not getting one, and move on to other shiny objects after a few months, max, while possibly keeping you on dial as the fallback guy if their other options don’t work out. I’d say it’s the number one thing that screws up so many young guys, thinking they have to be this army of one and take on the world by themselves. If you don’t have a good social standing, even if you’re a subject matter expert, you’ll be hard pressed to ascend to leadership roles. Success is shared and making money is a social activity. Humans are social beings, and our fulfillment comes from being valued and useful to others and the group. By not learning a skill or trade that provides value to the economy, not staying in shape, and not socializing with and encouraging others, you’re neglecting the gifts and opportunities you’ve been blessed with in exchange for a false sense of comfort. This philosophy is utilitarian. I seek to improve my skills and physique because I want to be valued by others and share the wealth with them…

Great response here… the goal is to become preselected so you don’t have to cold approach large quantities of women, which is extremely inefficient and ineffective. You only have so many hours in a day. Those hours are much better spent on making money, learning skills, fitness, and organic social activity instead of going to public places or dating apps and trying to work cold leads.

I have other mediums aside from Reddit to attain knowledge, what point are you trying to make? This is a discussion forum for men’s self awareness and self improvement, is it not? Knowledge isn’t something that you “take” away from other people like a possession, it’s something that can be shared at scale with little to no marginal cost. There are a handful of contributors who provide excellent write-ups such as Vas and GLO on here, and I’d like to see more discussions like the ones they pilot. …

I’m not personally struggling with dating, finances, or fitness (we can all always improve, but I’m not devoid of those things), but the original askTRP forum helped me immensely when I was younger because guys were willing to share that information and provide such a community. I was looking for a place to discuss what I was observing in life’s social dynamics, how to process it, and how to use that to my own benefit, and thankfully I stumbled upon this community. I wish I saw more detailed conversation around these exact topics in this forum - I only see it from time to time. Men need to spend their time becoming physically fit and combat trained, financially stable and economically valuable, and entrenched in building communities and solving practical problems with other like-minded men. More guides and conversation around these things would benefit men’s dating lives as well, but most guys here are missing the big picture and only talk about getting la…

I’d extend this to say that everyone should work some kind of job where you are facing others and have an incentive to go above and beyond in your work quality (ie commission or tips). It teaches you how to manage your time and energy, helps you get more organized, and inevitably helps you make friendships and improve your self-presentation and social skills. Sales experience helped me tremendously in managing time and tasks, and not wasting time and effort on low-value activities.

If you’re happy, having your needs met, and receiving mutual effort and respect, LTRs are usually more satisfying than casual imo. That being said, you have to be willing to walk and not get caught in the sunk cost fallacy if things take a turn for the worse, and you should never get complacent with your personal journey or dependent on the relationship for fulfillment.

Yes, I think all men who have experienced social dynamics know deep down that being physically attractive, and having money, power, and status attract women. That’s why you don’t see professional athletes and entertainers marrying unless a woman is high status, attractive and independently successful, or was with them before they made it. They’ll usually play the field with hot Instagram models and attention seekers but never commit.
/r/askTRP16/12/20 11:38 PM

1) Be as physically attractive as you can possibly be through fitness, diet, and wearing nice clothing 3) Rush a fraternity or comparable organization asap once you have 1 and 2 down. The good ones have guys who lift, throw down, take care of their academics, and get internships and career prospects. You’ll know them when you see them. And being in a respected organization means you’re already vetted, so it’s easier to get women without jumping through hoops.

These women have an influx hundreds of options at any given time, so they need to know that you’re preselected right off the bat for them to feel some sense of urgency to meet up. “Text for logistics” is what you should always err towards, but I disagree that it’s a hard and fast rule, as it comes off a bit robotic and dry. Texting and having some banter and flirting is good for maintaining attraction and excitement from my experience. The problem is that when you become too available over text, you signal that you have nothing else important going on in your life, which is generally unattractive. Let your unavailability do most of the work for you.

Not sure what she’s like, but the best way to do this isn’t to pose it as a question, rather a statement. Sounds like you did fine. Online dating girls are always 10x flakier before a first meetup, don’t take it personal. Next and hit up other girls, maybe she’ll come back around but I wouldn’t think twice about it.

You can’t choose your feelings, only how to deal with them. You’re on your mission, you’re talking to and seeing other girls, and you’re staying busy, which means you’re setting your sights on moving on even though your feelings are contrary. Keep the course, stay strong, and don’t let her reel you back in and it’ll heal with time. You’ll be extremely glad down the road that you handled this situation the way you did instead of letting it destroy you.

It always helps to have plates, but when they break you’ll be back to square one it you don’t find that fulfillment from within. Keep working on yourself and the rest will fall into place. The only way you’ll get better is to keep shooting your shot, practice makes perfect.

It shouldn’t even matter to you, either they’re interested or not. Her loss, on to the next one.

I don’t believe you can fake true confidence, it’s a side effect of knowing deep down that you’re a valuable man. There’s no shortcut to getting there, but your confidence will slowly improve as you do. Lift, focus heavy on your craft (work/school), be socially active, and better yourself every day. Have goals. The confidence will follow when you realize that you’ve hit several milestones and see the growth and progress you’ve undergone with time.
/r/askTRP19/09/20 04:14 AM

There’s no real answer to this, they find a man attractive who can support the lifestyle he wants confidently and comfortably. If you’re actually weighing between buying a car or property, keep in mind that vehicles depreciate and property typically appreciates in value over time. Don’t buy things to impress women, buy things based on the value they hold in your eyes.
/r/askTRP19/09/20 04:10 AM

It’s definitely not ideal, especially if your city is on full lockdown. Just slow down response times by being busy elsewhere but remain engaging when you do get back with them. The whole goal is to get that first meetup, it’s hard to get high interest otherwise.

I usually open with a friendly greeting or joke playing off their bio, then escalate to get their number, make some small talk about them as a person, and set up plans following that. Most girls are on there for free validation, so don’t get caught up on the ones that don’t go anywhere. You can’t build much attraction with someone you’ve never met over the web, get it to an in person hangout as best you can.

Demote. To. Plate. Just kidding. Sounds like she isn’t interested in learning about investing, I’d just let it roll off your back and not worry about it. If a seeming lack of trust is showing in other facets of the relationship, that might be a serious concern for you.
/r/askTRP18/09/20 09:12 PM

She doesn’t want exclusivity with you right now, so what’s it matter to her? Sounds like she wants you to be exclusive to her, but wants to date freely on her end. If she keeps asking, just deflect the questions or answer truthfully; you don’t owe her anything, so don’t let her make you feel guilty.
/r/askTRP18/09/20 08:25 PM
10

She rejected you once and she’ll do it again unless a noticeable increase in your SMV has occurred and/or her LDR is hitting the rocks. You’re likely wasting your time, I’d focus on gaming other girls and self improvement per the usual. You can meet up with her again if you’d like and have nothing better to do, but you should have zero expectations and outcome independence. Don’t make it a priority over anything else going on in your life.

Depends on where you go to school at, but status and being on the party scene is king at most colleges. Look to get involved with a fraternity or some on campus organizations. You’re also a freshman, so a lot of the girls will go for older, more established guys. Be patient, make a name for yourself and keep playing the numbers game.

Don’t even ask her again if she’s coming over. She hasn’t prioritized your time, so make other plans without her and reschedule if she hits you up. Ball’s completely in her court now.

She’s gone cold on you, next her and explore other prospects. There’s no conversation you can have that will get her to fix her behavior, and her behavior is a beacon of her interest in the relationship. Don’t go cold on her, start being a jerk for no reason, or cause problems where there aren’t any. Just get busier with your mission

She wants closure and to rope you back and in so she still has the comfort of your attention to soften the blow while she moves on. She wants an emotional reaction out of you, don’t give her one. Make her own her decision to end things fully. Best move is to ignore and move forward with the mindset that you’re done and will not be entertaining any contact with her.

It sounds like you’ve addressed it the best you can then. It definitely doesn’t feel good to have girls hitting you up who dumped you in the past. Try not to be bitter though, if anything you should be amused at watching her try to crawl back into your life as she sees you succeed. It’s sad how they operate.

Just read your edit man. My previous response was pretty straight to the point advice, but just wanted to add on and give you props for actually canceling the dinner and keeping yourself in line. After 7 years of dating, it’s gonna suck for a while and be an emotional roller coaster, but it will be in your best interest to stay the path and keep no contact while self improving daily. Stay strong and take it a day at a time.

Happens to the best of us. The best way to handle it is to shrug it off and don’t let it affect your frame. You could even make humor of it, I’ve done that in the past after getting whisky dick and the girls have come back.

5 years after being dumped, this individual person’s actions prompted you to post this wall of text. You know you need to cut them off. I’d say just go ahead and block so you’ll know EXACTLY what terms you’re on, permanently.

She’s either a freezer or gaming you. Definitely don’t go on a road trip with her if she hasn’t even do so much as kissed you with tongue. The solution here is abundance. Would you really be making time for one girl who’s not meeting your needs if there were others ready and willing to? Start gaming other women.
/r/askTRP16/09/20 01:41 AM

She’s just getting comfortable in the relationship, possibly too comfortable. The proper way to reset the scales isn’t by blatantly playing games with ignoring her or forcibly delaying response times/acting colder. It’s by naturally getting busier with work, social life, the gym, and overall self improvement. If that doesn’t get her to step her game up, maybe go out with a friend group that just so happens to have a few attractive females present.
/r/askTRP16/09/20 01:34 AM

For starters, I’d cancel the cooking plans with her and go cold turkey on her. Nothing good will come from that. Regarding yourself: Hit the gym regularly (or harder if you already have been), improve your diet, focus on your career and get a side hustle, improve your grooming and style, take advantage of that apartment situation to socialize frequently and meet more friends/women. Regarding your LTR: No contact after she picks her stuff up. Mute her on social media, delete her number. If you ca…

Agree with some of the points you’re making. I guess to add on, how do you become emotionally invested in girls while keeping a rock solid frame? I think the root of my problems is that I start to handle situations with girls poorly when I actually get feelings for them, and combat these feelings by trying to distance myself.
/r/askTRP15/09/20 04:07 AM
1

Well, now she’s made it easy for you to know that she shouldn’t even be more than a plate. Keep investment minimal, see her as you see fit, don’t get attached and you’re good to go.
/r/askTRP15/09/20 01:18 AM
2

You shouldn’t and don’t get to control what she does. You only get to control your level of investment. I’m personally fine with girls I’m dating going out with their friends, but it depends on you. If she does things you don’t like, you reduce your investment or next her.
/r/askTRP15/09/20 01:16 AM
4

The best thing you could do is next her, it seems like you already know that. But, you’ve caught feelings, so if you do, you’ll end up feeling like she “got away.” Your next best bet is to slow fade on her by getting busy elsewhere. Stop seeing her as much. Stop responding and contacting her as much. Focus on the gym, work, hobbies, and other plates more.

“Would you be interested in getting a hotel together?” This insinuates that you’ll be going half without sounding cheap by putting the ball in her court. If she’s high interest, she’ll pay half or work to find an alternative.

Have you tried to address the PTSD with professional treatment? That should be your priority. It’s a serious issue, not just some “weakness” you should be ashamed of. A good girlfriend doesn’t mind seeing you emotionally vulnerable once in a while, and they actually usually like it. Being vulnerable and being weak are two different things. Vulnerability lets someone see you for who you are and what you feel, and is an important part of intimate relationships (in stern moderation). Weakness comes…

Oneitis with a girl you know you shouldn’t date is always a difficult situation. You’re getting emotionally invested even though your logic knows that she’s definitely not worth anything more than plate status, but your instinct and emotions want more with her. It’s normal and okay to feel those emotions and miss a girl you dated. We all experience strong emotions after breakups, but it’s what you do with those emotions that counts. You ended the relationship for logical reasons (LDR). You’re self improving and seeing other women. It’s going to hurt for a while, but you’re on the path to getting over it. It takes time to get over someone no matter what, but you’re handling yourself very well. Keep the path and don’t contact her.

This is, in all honesty, really, really bad. The red flags were there, and you have oneitis hard. I won’t go much further than that when it comes to critique though, we’ll keep it constructive. I can empathize with you in that we’ve all had girls we connected really well with and liked a lot, but once you start putting them on a pedestal, you melt their attraction quick because you treat them like they are more valuable than you are. So here’s the game plan. Take all the time you need to grieve,…

Classic manipulation. You established and enforced your boundaries, she crossed them, and you kept your word on walking. Now she’s trying to make you feel guilty to pull you into her frame. Cut her off.

Focusing on your mission and dating/being social are not mutually exclusive. You should have enough time in a day to study, run your business, hit the gym, get good sleep, and socialize/date.

Long distance just about never works. Yeah, definitely get rid of all forms of communication with her. If you can’t keep yourself from making contact (checking her profiles, messaging her, etc) block her. Self improve and start talking to/seeing other women.

That’s the thing, there will ALWAYS be another guy with higher SMV within arm’s length for any girl you date. That’s why you remain outcome independent and keep focusing on self improvement. For me, there’s a sense of security that comes with knowing that no matter how interested in me a girl is, there’s always a chance she’ll jump ship, so she should never be the main focus of my life.

I’d say this has to do with consistency and predictability. They probably get comfortable with your company and consistent availability/communication, even if you’re clear with them that you aren’t looking to get serious. They don’t fear that you’ll disappear on them at any moment or get serious with another woman, so they don’t feel the need to pine after your validation. The thing that drives women (and men, too) “crazy” is intermittent reinforcement and unpredictability. For example, you give…

This is a simple one, and I’ve had “friends” try to pull this before. He’s desperate to have a chance with an attractive girl (like most men who don’t have a greater purpose), and knows your ex is a low hanging fruit. She’ll keep in contact with him for information about you and might even flirt with him or hang out with him to make you jealous, and he’s just lurking in the shadows hoping to capitalize and get with her. Leave them both in the past.

It’s true to the extent that genetics grant individuals advantages and disadvantages, but it assumes genetics are an end-all-be-all for whether or not you’re successful and attractive. I’ve experienced the same thing when dating, and it’s because they get too comfortable when they’ve “got” you. Start mentally moving on (becoming less available by being on your grind, exercising, and going out with friends and being around other attractive women). You may realize by doing this you want to end things, or she may straighten up. It’s sad that it always becomes a power game, but this is what happens when you get serious with flighty young girls.
