Growing up male 1990-2020: being told to listen to and accept the experiences of others while being told what your experience is

The confidence with which some PPD posters declare that there are immutable characteristics of all men, such as "Men hate to be pursued and feel uncomfortable with a women thirsting after him," highlights the black-and-white thinking that some people possess and an inability to see past their own experiences. In other words, people who, well, I don't really mind if they're struggling with dating.

Broke it off with a woman who believes so strongly that we shouldn't have to make any effort around each other to do anything, it's just the "spark" that might turn her into an affectionate person instead of a frigid reptile. That neither of us should have to "try" for anything to happen. Go eat some bricks, lady.

Ayyy so am I a big beta for waiting until the show runs to make a move? It feels professional but successful men don't seem to act so professionally

Dang, I have met so few MTG players who aren't insufferable know-it-alls. The game attracts nitpicking mansplaining (I'm male) bad losers and bad winners. In my experience, consistently one of the worst venues for socializing (maybe it's obvious that I shouldn't have expected otherwise? idk).

And then women receive attention and women receive attention and women receive attention and outlier women on dating subreddits protest but women receive attention and women receive attention and women receive attention Society will be fine

Hey, I relate! I also don’t have great advice! I guess it all comes down to learning to be okay with how things are unfair in some ways… not that I have really come to peace with it… but I’m putting myself out there and trying new things and I can only suggest you do the same, I like community theatre now for example
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 05:42 AM

remember not to freak out after putting yourself out there for the painteenth time and being rejected, remember to just say "no worries"

Men's average dating experience: give and give and give and give and give and give and give and give and give Women's average dating experience: is this right for me? is he good enough for me? does he compare with my other options?

Damn, some women receive so much attention that they just so cool with exploiting a nice guy for dinner. Shit's fucked up.

Has anyone observed a dip in literacy on Reddit lately? Like, starting over the past few months, on many subreddits, post titles read like they were fed through a translator twice and posters are regularly unable to conjugate verbs correctly, and as far as I can tell, these are not bots. It's happening to PPD now.

Saw a poster for a stage show about three lesbians with a blurb along the lines of “The incel lesbian comedy we’ve been waiting for!” Don’t worry it’s okay for WOMEN to be incels we can use the label without vitriol for some fucking reason oh look women receive empathy and attention again and again and again what a fucking patriarchy. Absolutely, Susan, men hate feminine-acting men because they HATE women, not because they hate feminine-acting men, of course Susan how could I not have realized S…

What might fix it? (not trolling) After COVID I pretty much have difficulty making eye contact, not that I never do it, but wow Yet I do performing arts and was basically "the most social of the least social" in my software program, they be like "he ain't like us" I have been resisting medication :(

I'm 33. There is still time...? It would have been nice to have a partner when I was younger to feel more comfortable in sexual contexts! I was a textbook nice guy in high school (er, not so much the entitled turning psycho nice guy, just the vagina-drying no-game nice guy). Something feels shitty about doing 20+ improv shows over 5 years with the same troupe and seeing the women receive attention after shows and go through multiple partners and receive attention and receive attention and still …

I lost 10 pounds in about a week, albeit generally water/alcohol weight, but it puts me back below 200 which is just crazy (I was 300 in September 2022). Loneliness consumes me! A woman I thought was going to help me get over my sexual anxiety cut me loose instead. I want to enter a positive feedback loop with a woman, please. I'm sorry I'm not a sex god after the first girlfriend, with cysts, the second one, an introverted bookworm, and then five years of miserable solitude during COVID after s…

Hello I struggle with feelings of loneliness that I used to think were irrational but I feel they are more rational lately as I approach my mid-thirties. How do you/can I resolve feelings of loneliness? Yes, I am speaking of romantic loneliness. I have made strides this year participating in hobbies and have met women but I find it very difficult to make the first move. I was demoted to friend by the only woman I got to see for around five years this week and I don't know how to overcome it real…

brb just gonna overturn the snowballing fusion of inexperience and lack of confidence that comes from never getting to engage with the gaining-confidence-from-gaining-experience-from-gaining-confidence-from-gaining-experience feedback loop that skipped me in my young adulthood that enabled my peers to develop social skills and learn about themselves and others despite my best efforts as the eldest male in an estranged family with cursed Theodin as a Dad and zero role models to learn from

Because men GIVE and women JUDGE and no matter how many problems it causes or how difficult it can be for men or how much women demand to be treated the same as men, women DON’T CARE and DON’T want to change any gender norms that (they perceive to) make their lives better. I am getting better at accepting this but still struggle with how easy it seems for women to find partners, something we love to downplay with caveats about low-quality attention or women’s safety, but relationships are, you k…

Yes, I have taken a series of Ontario employment workplace quizzes more than once and they define sexual violence to include unwanted speech. Glorious.

Ah, further embarrassing content for this sub. Perhaps a signal that my days here are done. Enjoy your nonsense, "bud."

With all due respect, if it floats your boat to die on the Urban Dictionary hill, all the more power to you. Your comment is near-paradoxical to me because we're talking about a definition on Urban Dictionary. The definitions within are always not "what people think/say it is". This website is not where the MRA movement wins a fight for legitimacy.

The recent obsession with Urban Dictionary on this sub has me scratching my head. If you have any experience with the website, you know that the definitions given by users are intended to be humorous. I'm not saying that the pre-existing MRA definition is accurate or pleasing, but it exists for the purpose of humor. Have any of you bothered to look at the top definition for "feminist?" You might agree with it, but it is a similarly hyperbolic, generalizing definition which takes jabs at the defi…
