Surely when I want to find out what a man wants, it's best to ask men? Of course I've spoken with my fiancé too, but I wanted to get more opinions.

Love this, thank you! You sound like you've been in the same position. I'm fed up of the media painting men as sex-crazed maniacs, because it just reinforces his feeling of emasculation when he declines sex, and my feeling of "huh? why doesn't he want it?" We've found a great middle ground.
/r/askTRP19/06/16 04:16 PM

Not a "lot", as I'm only 26. But he is not my first relationship.

How awful.

I love this answer... thank you! That makes sense regarding the negativity I'm finding - I thought that men on here would appreciate a woman wanting to proactively be a good wife, so the negativity surprised me. Thanks for your perspective.

Agreed! I sometimes wish we had sex more, but I appreciate that after working 7 days straight of 16 hours shifts, he probably doesn't fancy any more cardio! I make allowances and try to be understanding.

I love this answer. Great perspective, thank you.

It isn't, but now I'm interested! His website comes across as a bit "spammy"... is it safe?
/r/askTRP19/06/16 04:10 PM

This is a great idea! I feel insecure when massaging, because I don't know how to do it properly and am cautious about injuring. I'm sure I could take a course in massage therapy inexpensively... I'll start saving and get qualified.

My hubs-to-be didn't believe I was real when he saw my online dating profile. There must be something about my online presence that seems "off"!

I keep a nice house, but I'm working on the cooking! Fortunately, he eats at work anyway, because I'm usually working at mealtimes. I'm not lazy... anything neglected in the home is because I'm working, not slobbing on Facebook. Fortunately he understands the demands of my career - not all men would. His grandmother and mother were/are successful career women, so fortunately he doesn't expect me to be home all day baking pies (I flew the idea past him of giving up my career and being a stay-at-h…

Thank you! My hubs-to-be feels the same. He is fiercely loyal and cheating would be his deal-breaker (and he has an all-encompassing definition of cheating).

Is being pessimistic obligatory on this group? For someone just trying to please her man, I'm encountering a strange amount of negativity.
/r/askTRP18/06/16 03:50 PM

That story is awful. I do know the high injury rate (and I've spent enough time in the emergency room with him already!) but I'm not too worried. I have a good network of fire wives (some of whom are also surrendered). I can't think of anything that would make me act less than loving and respectful towards him... I just hope that I don't have to face anything like that!

He is aware and comfortable with me posting on this forum (although he disagrees with the red pill philosophy in general).
/r/askTRP18/06/16 03:47 PM

Thanks for replying, but I'm not comfortable answering those sort of questions.
/r/askTRP18/06/16 03:45 PM

So, despite him saying he'd rather I didn't initiate (so he didn't have to turn me down), you think I should still initiate once in a while? I've gone with a half-way option, which isn't technically initiating, but presents him with the option if he should choose to take it. So I'll walk into the living room in lingerie, or not wear any underwear etc. So I'm not like "Hey, let's have sex", but it gives him opportunity to initiate if he wants to. What do you think? It's difficult because I would …
/r/askTRP18/06/16 01:13 PM

I found my way there. You have me painted incorrectly, but that's ok!
/r/askTRP18/06/16 12:58 PM

Thank you for taking the time to write all of this! I appreciate getting opinions from real people. I'll comment on each of your points! 1: Love it! I believe in backing him publicly 100%. He is my family above everyone else, and I have disowned my stepfather, partially on account of his criticism of my soon-to-be husband. I'd immediately cut out anybody that did the same. I also refuse to join in with these strange "female bonding" sessions which seem to involve just man-bashing. I was at a spa…

I understand none of what you said. Could you elaborate? My PT is called Emma...

I'm really not an ad (promise!). We met 4 years ago. I'm not sure if I'd use those sites now... they're mainly hook-up apps these days, aren't they?

Your grandmother sounds delightful! What a lovely lady. I try to be a good first mate. For example, when he left the military and decided to join the fire service, he asked me to help him with his application (he's dyslexic, and I'm a lawyer so I'm good with words). He got the position completely on his own merit, but I helped where I could (and where he asked me to). I like the captain/first mate analogy!
/r/askTRP18/06/16 12:39 PM

Agreed! Although, I often love my own space and some silence, too.

I follow Dr Laura on Facebook, but I've not looked into her books. Thanks for the tip! I think Surrendered Wife covers a lot of your points, but it can't hurt to be reminded and read more of the same. Your #3 hits home for me, because he refuses to lead regarding our finances. I would love to surrender it all to him, as per Surrendered Wife, but he isn't comfortable managing our money (he has never had to manage his finances before, whereas I have, so he says it is in "safer hands" with me!) He …
/r/askTRP18/06/16 12:35 PM

Woah! No thanks!
/r/askTRP18/06/16 12:32 PM

I'm just very into self-development. I couldn't be more satisfied with my lot in life.
/r/askTRP18/06/16 12:32 PM

He found me on PlentyOfFish.com... so you could start there!
/r/askTRP18/06/16 12:12 PM

He says he isn't interested in sex with anyone else. I think it's natural to be attracted to other people, but he says he has no inclination to touch or be with another person. He just says he's marrying a pageant winner and ex-runway model... why would he downgrade? (His words, not mine!)
/r/askTRP18/06/16 11:22 AM

As tolerant as I am, I'd be miffed if my husband turned out to be gay! Very surprised, too. I've suggested threesomes or things along those lines, and he is adamant that he doesn't want to. He is just genuinely very into monogamy. It's refreshing!
/r/askTRP18/06/16 11:17 AM

Haha! He's very into monogamy, so he wouldn't be up for that. He even hates the idea of threesomes.

That's strange... I see her advice as applying to many different types of character/personality. I suppose it's how you read it!

I recommend the implant - none of the disadvantages of an IUD, lasts for 3 years, no room for error, and (for me, anyway), no side effects whatsoever. He'll probably feel safer having sex knowing that this little rod in your arm has you both covered for 3 years! (And, for reassurance, he can feel it!)

Read Laura Doyle's, "First, Kill All the Marriage Counsellors". I can't give any better advice than that. It has all the answers to your questions!

I go for sexy over sweet (I'm 24). Ariana Grande's style is just too popular with teenagers in the UK! I feel like a 5 year old in a skater skirt. I would disagree with people saying that sexy is more likely to attract men only wanting hook-ups. I dress sexy, and am marrying the man of my dreams!

I actually prefer your blurb... concise and to the point. I couldn't be bothered reading the above paragraph. Thanks for the link- - I enjoyed the show!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
