This is a thing. The women in my family have great genes. We all tend to age slowly. My mom is 60 and comes off at around 40. My grandma is 80 and looks better than most 60-year-olds. She was widowed 10 years ago and never moved on. My great granny is over 100 and sharp as a tack. She lost her high school sweetheart 20 years ago and had to move to a facility 5 years ago. Not because she has dementia, but because her bones became so fragile she started breaking them. She gets some family visitors…

This is not dumb at all. It is good advice! There are a lot of people out there that wouldn't do so badly if they could learn to take care of themselves. I spent part of my early career working with younger people from rough situations as they were first starting out. Imposter syndrome ties into people who are going from low status to a higher one and are suddenly feeling unable to fit in. Most reasons they don't fit in are social including the ability to present oneself as the professional they…

Would you want to be in close proximity to a woman who couldn't manage basic self care? Do you think it is right for a woman with an oil slick all over her to claim that AMALT because they don't respond well to her lack of personal care? Same thing.

There is a difference between looks and hygiene. Why is that such a hard thing to get? Wash your hair, brush your teeth. Check for crusty crap on your face. Wash your hands, use face wash for your face and clean your body. Trim your nails, stop chewing or smoking it is gross. Stop drinking till you stink and puke. It is gross. Essentially stop being gross. Too many kids are missing this essential training, then they grow up to be pissed off AWALT 20 somethings with smelly feet. It is not the fau…

Gotta agree with Smurf on this one. JG is rocking that nerdcore derp so hard. He comes across as authentic, intelligent and is one of the least try-hard personalities I've ever seen.

No one needs a smirk!!! Self satisfied grin and a good punchline to send it home.

In my case, if we aren't laughing at some point in the mix it isn't nearly as fun. I can't change your view on this because we all have our own preferences but I can say with certainty that there is a certain amount of derp that can make things really fun. Stone-faced serious sexy time would be hard.. Excuse the pun. I get the giggles too easily so why not roll with it? Come as you are and derp as you twerk, just don't take yourself too seriously, honey or the fun becomes work.

I like this contribution. I am glad you said "most" because time can be arbitrary, especially if a couple is just bobbing along without adversity. Infatuation and love are not quite the same. Sometimes it takes some life experience as a couple to test those waters and couples form or break bonds after weathering a few storms together. Still, Five years seems to be a fair time line to experience good and bad with another person. The storms are how we build up the reserves of trust that form the f…

I am telling you that when in a team situation it is important to look out for the team and do your best to fix what you can for the good of the team. You have touched on something valuable: "All he can do is call attention to it and support her in her efforts to fix it." This is good. Thank you for acknowledging that he has a responsibility to his own happiness and must put forth some effort.

It is hard to predict how the changes will impact the fallible and imperfect balance of anyone. It is easy to wag a finger and say that people shouldn't have kids. If they started out normal and having kids messed up the balance how is anyone supposed to know until it actually happens?

Pout pout - I didn't downvote you. If a man is concerned about a situation that his partner is unable to recognize or address, and it is in his interest to fix it he should do the work to try to do so because it is probably not going to fix itself any time soon. Same goes for the wife of a depressed man, but that was not your question. In a married situation especially around times of extreme change the one who sees the problem and wants it changed has some responsibility to do the work. Anythin…

Wow! Look at that hamster! Your response reads as though these well documented physiological issues are just a big conspiracy. What resources? Many people just starting out during peak child bearing years have few resources to speak of. We were in our early 20s. In my situation it wasn't until later that he had any resources to speak of, I came into it with more resources than he did in the beginning. Pretending that uncomfortable problems like these don't exist, that they are just excuses is aw…

I think it is more this than anything else! For me at least, there was a body flattening fatigue that bowled me over. It is complicated because you can still like him and want to be around him but honestly really and truly have no drive whatsoever because the kids have essentially kicked the stuffing out of you. It wasn't depression like crying all the time, it was like moving through life with senses dulled. Also a lot of ladies don't get very good postpartum care, so unless she is acting outri…

Entitlement. This will not be popular but here we go. Lots of people grow up thinking they are the very most special person. The question targets men so I will specifically mention boys, but I know lots of girls grow up this way too.. That said, little Jonny grows up hearing he is the smartest, the bestest the most lovely boy. He expects what his family and TV and society tells him. You are special, life will be easy, you don't have to try. Pretty girls a nice house a good job and a wonderful li…

So yeah, I think our definitions must be on opposite ends of the nerd spectrum. I don't know the term you are using, umc? (Edited because I am getting tired and hit post prematurely)

Well, I would say a serious, studious person who is typically energized by alone time, but excited about certain niche things. Some nerd stuff has become mainstream, like Avengers and Harry Potter - for sure, but among my sort of people we also get excited about ideas, scientific findings, and other topics that generally require a lot of reading. I work in research and it absolutely draws a type! We all know our house in Hogwarts. I am a Ravenclaw and my best friend is a Slytherin. My husband is…

Oh lord, that sounds remarkably uncomfortable. I immediately thought about hand sanitizer. Too many people, too loud, too much touching. Nope. I can't come up with a scenario that would get me in there in the first place.. OMG yes.. I can! I probably went in there to catch a Pokemon. Simply being somewhere has no bearing on AWALT. If those grindy guys get between me and that Pikachu you can bet your sweet bippy I will put on my very best horsy-bitch scowl.

So let me get this right... I am in a club.. Married woman and all that... If I smile and flirt back AWALT. If I don't I'm a horse-bitch. I guess I can't win. Oh well. My guy is great and I hope you find someone who makes you as happy as he makes me. Neighhh!!! 😄

Well, if you aren't getting the results you want from doing the same thing over and over I can't see how changing it up could hurt. If nothing else you might learn to make something amazing and take someone home to eat it with you. 😊

You misunderstand me. I am saying I have some lovely colleagues who are nerdy as hell, and very pretty. Saying nerdy people are unattractive simply because it is harder than using Tinder or hitting on bar people makes you the fox and them the grapes. "I can't see any pretty nerds at this club, that must mean nerds are ugly."
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/18 12:42 AM

Not true. My colleagues are hot. This is a fox and grapes thing. "They are too hard to reach, they are probably too sour anyway".

Why date someone who doesn't have some common interests? You can't expect to fake it forever. People in these clubs aren't dumb. Go somewhere to learn about something that interests you. Like minded females might enjoy your efforts at self improvement and enjoy all the other body builder hot-guy stuff as a welcome bonus.

😂😆😀 it is crappy to say but as a huge introvert who doesn't want to sleep with anyone who enjoys the club scene, I kind of love this reply. I have cultivated one hell of a scowl just for people who hit on me. I am not there for you. I don't work out for you, or try to be cute for you or answer to you. Why on earth would I care if I piss everyone off? The hubs is my one and only. If that means all introverted women are like me, you are in for a treat if you finally figure out how to hold up your …

Nope! INTJ here. I clean up nicely every day before I go do my big brain job at work. INTJs tend to become studious about whatever interests them. For me that includes fitness and skincare. I was blessed with great genetics. I care about my wardrobe. My regime is based on a clockwork routine and science. I will outlive all of you, show up on time and look good doing it! 😎 With that said my ENFP SO will probably have way more fun because we are both very true to type.
