In my opinion that's pretty normal. Especially when you come from a BP mentality in the past, this will sneak in sometimes. Don't worry about it. My advice is: own the feeling, acknowledge that it's there, tell yourself "thanks for the feeling. I know it's not very helpful, but I can't help it that it's there" (practice from ACT, got it from the book "The Happiness Trap"). After that, move on. It takes some practice, but it will make you much more relaxed. By acknowledging that the feeling is th…

Inprovements: - Got back to TRP at the end of last week, have been reading this whole week - Ordered Models & The Rationale Male, started reading them - Started my fitness routine this week. Doing lifting 3 times a week, cardio & running 3 as well - Read the top posts in TRP as well as the sidebar. Got some links I still have to read - Continued being sober (marking a year and a half soon) and without smoking (2nd week) Fuckups: - A potential plate (fucked once) told me she didn't want to speak …

That's my question as well. A woman that doesn't take of her house is a train wreck in my book. I've had the same experience once. An adult woman that lived in a house that was filthy, her bedroom felt like a kiddies room with all pink, clothes everywhere. After some tea I told her it was getting late and I'm going home. This was even in my semi-bp days

I'm getting back into TRP and this one was one of the first I read. I had the same wtf-moment :p

that's the national sport in US That's spot on! As an outsider (Dutch) it always amazes me how people feel the need to cover their ass in any way, because there's always someone watching who feels entitled to criticize it in any way.

Like the Taco Bell dude, she'll probably try to sue the maker of the movie (if he can be found), claiming she's filmed without her consent

Explaining your weaknesses to women just gives them ammunition to use against you. Stop making excuses. If you need space, take your space, don't explain yourself. Don't ever apologize for doing what you had to do. Own your shit and stop over-sharing. Thanks, you are right. Right now I am not evaluating my own behaviour, the over-sharing part is indeed a thing I need to stop doing. Solid advice

I think there is a difference between cancelling last minute or tell her in the morning. The latter was the case. And this was the day before her birthday. We weren't really committed. Nevertheless, lessons learned. I could have handled this cooler

I like your comment. You are right. I haven't swallowed TRP yet. Need to do it again. I did recognize her blame-game and used it against her, but this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't apologized to her. Sidebar... Here I come again...

Have a look at that. Given the fact that more women are active on social media, this is going to have an impact (or it might turn out a failure as a company). I am a little worried. Not only do you need to check you offline reputation, if this app is going to be successful, you can be reviewed negatively online, without a big amount of control for you. Think about it... If you're being called a misogynist, if there are fake rape charges, a disgruntled ex who wants to fuck you over.... It goes on…

It's funny that everytime I read a story like this, it reminds me of No More Mr. Nice Guy and the whole "nice guys aren't actually such nice guys". Been there for a while in the past, I was like that guy. Being a "good guy", or atleast pretending to be a good one, and at some point completely blow up and be a narcissistic asshole that feels entitled to crush someone emotionally... Luckily that's in the past, but it made me lose a couple of friends because of that stupid behaviour.

I'm in the same boat, dude. Hitting the gym before my 30 seems to be a lifesaver, and my career is actually doing fine. So without any expectations, I'm actually looking forward to turning 30 :)

I like numbers, but I do pose a question.... If you would talk numbers, and you are saying 10... how the hell do you keep up with any of them? If I want to focus my energy in TRP ways on myself (to improve as a man, because I want to improve), how can I keep 10 in rotation? I'm curious about your methodology.

Thanks. Absolutely true. I just walk away. I cut contact with 1 and 3, 2 I keep at a low profile (as in, she's the one initiating, I am not going to put effort in it). All energy that is preserved by not putting effort in any of these sorts of women I focus on myself...

Daily running 8 miles does the trick for me. After my rant yesterday I decided to go for a run again. Feels better afterwards.

I lost frame with number 3, that's true. With #1 and 2 it was more subtle. There was some frustration on my part, but I didn't convey it to them. I will definitely hit the sidebar more often. I finished the TRP e-book about two weeks ago. After venting and reading the comments here a lot more made sense, and I am seeing where my behaviour fits into the 'results'. Lessons learned

Excellent comment and completely true on all 3 points. That last one is true. I was just in a bad spot, chose the 'wrong' women. Lessons learned indeed. Will see what comes next

That's not the right perspective, although, reading your comment and re-reading my own rant, it makes sense. Let me be more specific: 1) I did sleep with. Moreso, she made it clear on numerous occasions clear that she never met a guy like me. So I had my way with her, but she decided I wasn't 'the one'. Yet, If I think about it, I think I crawled back to beta me at some point, which made her make that decision. Nevertheless, it is what it is. It's over, we're done. I was just frustrated. 2) you …

Yeah well there is dating and dating. I mean, I met a woman who is about 8 years older, is completely cockcrazy, and she's fine. We both know we are never going to be in a relationship, so it just immediately graduated to FWB status. So it depends on what you want. I like older women personally, but I would date them for anything more than just pure fun. They know that, except for that 33y HB8 who couldn't accept it

Good feedback, thanks. Yes, bowling was fun. I liked it. And about the first part... I know. I feel stupid for not doing anything. We had fun, but there was no spark or whatsoever. I think I reverted to the old beta-me with her... So yes... I think I have just friendzoned myself to death with this girl ;)

I know, you are right. This will pass. Better yet, it has already passed, time to move on. Venting helps, lessons learned. Part of me wants to call all 3 of them on their bullshit, but the rational mindset just keeps telling me "It's not worth it, you are not going to fix anything with it, it's just your ego. Abundance mentality, dude". I just leave them like this...

Well it poses a 'problem', I know women of that age are hitting the wall. Lately I have been more into older women. Maybe because they are more laid back or confident, I don't know. Yet, these same women seem to be more crazy lately (atleast the HB8+'s). So I guess I'll be targeting younger women from now on. I do understand your part about empathy. Maybe, on my part, I was just a little bit fed up with the whole manipulation scheme in them these last weeks. Usually I pass shit tests with flying…

Yeah I have been lurking TRP for a while and have already incorporated a few basic rules. The whole venting is just to blow of some steam and frustration, on the other hand it is clear evidence that a lot that has been said here is true. I like new experiences, so this is one that I will remember. I just experiment the shit out of it, with great results. Just that those results blow up in my face these two weeks means I have learned something new :-)

As I understand RP, why is 'game' important in the first place? I get what you are saying, but I think you value game too much and this post is a bit on the negative side of things. Game is just experimenting the shit out of women. Whether you get laid or not, that's not the point. Fail and learn.

Yes I get your point, did you actually read my comment? I was socially retarded, so I needed the Special Olympics just to find out that women are not that special at all. The training wheels have come off lately (like I said, I am done using Tinder). So now that my flight simulator training is over, I feel like I can now start crashing and burning those 767's....

Yes and no... your post makes a solid point when it comes to online dating, but no, I do not believe that you're associated with beta losers for doing the whole online dating game. I started using Tinder more than a year ago and had some great experiences. The analogy of the Special Olympics is hard, but I think you are right on that point. The thing is, on the other hand, for some it can be a starting point. About two years ago I was terrible with women. Using Tinder, I started experimenting. J…

A good friend can always say these things and you should mutually respect eachother. I don't tell people what to do and neither do I let anyone else do the same to me. The only true opinions I value come from my best friends. I had my best friend being tricked into some exclusive pussy-deal. He was not entirely happy with it, plus he found himself cockblocked when dealing with other women. I was the only one who told him "Get the fuck out. Make her a friends-with-benefits, but no exclusivity." F…

Yeah I know, this would be a very hard challenge. I wouldn't go out and try to bed a woman that night. My success is in the long run... e.g. going on a date and bed them later, multiple times. Not getting too involved. Basically, investing just enough to get the return on investment that satisfies me (with interest in the long run). I wasn't particularly serious about the 'challenge'. I think I fantasized about this a couple of times in the past. The thing is.... I thought that would never be po…

It really depends on the person and the amount of fapping. I have tried NoFap before and found it very hard to maintain. On one hand (let's say my right one) I can say that it gets you more focused and energized if you do not masturbate. On the other hand (I would suggest, the same hand, all pun intended) it is relaxing. Moderation is the key element. I suggest you do it in moderation. See how long you can go no fapping without losing your mind (Hell, life is just one big freaking experiment). T…

Nice, haven't read this, great tip for the newer guys. Will read it myself as well. I think I already have an abundance mentality, this is very tightly related to how you feel. I feel great ever since I quit drinking (in control, confidence, more focused), this has helped me internalize some of those mentalities as well.

First of all, congrats on getting this far. You are doing this and you are responsible for it yourself. The fact that you are aware of certain things means you are trying to implement the things that you learn. Because you are willing to learn, you might be willing to make 'mistakes'. That is ok. Am I doing this right? Should I be seeing her more often than the weekends? I feel like I am doing things right since I am getting results but since this is my first, i don't want to fall into bad habit…

I do understand what you are saying, it makes sense on a logical level.... but: I do not want to live in a hypothetical world. As in... yes I could think about all the things I would be doing when I would lose her. That only sounds counterproductive, because I don't even 'have' her yet (By 'having' in this context I would say being my gf). So if I don't 'have' her yet, what would be the point to even think about some hypothetical situation? That being said, I thank you for your comment. It can w…

Haven't been out gaming these two days due to work... but flirting with my hot colleague made a difference. The whole 'chemical' explanation was a good way for me to get my head clear. Good short explanation. I sobered up a while ago and those first few days I actually felt like shit because of the withdrawal symptoms. Basically, what you are saying is that this is a withdrawal symptom. That actually makes perfect sense when I look at the feeling. Thank you!

Hey, great read, thanks! Quick question... I read the introduction, there is talk about what 2014 will bring. I don't know whether it is relevant or not, but is there a "strategy" or resolutions for TRP for 2015?

I would suggest option one. Showing too much interest. I was also BP as fuck, so I think it is not completely due to me giving advice that she ran away. It was just one of her arguments that caught my attention. The rest of the arguments were non-related BS

Ha! This post brings up memories and I have learned the same thing. I have dated some of the most troublesome women you can imagine in the past. Daddy-issues, stressed out, burnout, name it. I had those women. At some point I realized I was doing this just to make myself feeling better. I was giving out advice and got back validation, women liked me for my advice. In the end they would run away when things were 'good', because I was boring. At some point I said "I am not going to date any of tho…

When I look at my country, The Netherlands, we have had discussions like this aw ell. Our country is pretty liberal, we were one of the first to adopt laws to make it possible for gays to get married. The thing that strikes me, is that those problems coming from a fight between 'Deconstructors' and those who oppose it, do not seem to apply at our country. Yet, I do see a shift in perception in the last few years. This shift is not so much in the perception of gays, they are actually pretty much …

Absolutely. I get the 'losing frame' part, but how does that make you lose integrity? In general, I agree to what you are saying in your post. Here are some of my FB rules: I share very little about my life status. I do not let people see what my religion (none at all), relationship status and job/school is. That is all private. Even my birthyear, only sharing the day. Job-wise, they could check my Linkedin for that. I do not share with whom I am friends. I see people who add every living thing …

I totally agree. I think I am transitioning to RP, been lurking for a while and a lot makes sense. Coming out of a depression recently and currently preparing to go monk style RP. Anyway: Beta me three years ago: I broke up with my GF because she was a cheating whore. But, it also totally fucked me over. I was devastated. So, to 'fix' myself, I became a total social media attention seeking junkie... I was on FB days on end, and posted 2 or 3 times a day. The 'aha-moment' came when I was at a par…

(Sorry for typo's, not English and on my phone) I had this problem in the past and still have it some days. It is indeed a lack of self confidence. I had it with my friends and it annoyed the shit out of me. My realization came when I started to objectively compare myself to friends. Let me set an example: I have a friend who is extremely succesful in business. I wanted that and kept comparing myself to him. And then I asked myself "OK, so why is he more succesful than me? I can relate on the matter of having a girl that I wanted, suffering from one-itis, just pure because of sex. The thing that helped me was /r/nofap.
