13	Men earning less I do live with him, and we are both working from home. Honestly I've tried to encourage him to go do an evening course, as I did during the pandemic, but he didn't want to consider it. He's talking about it now but I guess will have to see if he follows though and makes his career work for him. 201	wage gap isn't real As a female engineer, every time I don't want to stick my hand up and ask for more money I have to kick myself and say this is why there's a wage gap. Everytime I think I'm not qualified to apply for a position I remember that study that women will only apply if they match 90%+ of the requirements, whereas men will go at 60%. 1	What advice would you give to your 20 year old (or generally younger) self? I don't know if I agree with point one. Yes I have had quite a few friends who ended up liking me, and it was eventually obvious they wanted more, I was able to manage that and stay on good terms with them. If I like them enough to be friends with them, I like them enough to manage a situation like that, and this could happen no matter the gender to be fair.
