Doesn't try to game wife at all and then strikes out on a bunch of women until he can have awkward sex with an ugly one. He's not focused on growth or self fulfillment at all. When your thoughts and actions align with your ideals, you will skyrocket your belief in yourself. You need a social circle. You won't feel rewarded for making changes or improvements unless you have people who care about you and notice. Some people are all internal. Obviously that is the goal.
