OP is right, on r/askMRP the sidebar shows no resources, I am looking at it right now. Go to r/marriedredpill and check that side bar out. Lot's of good books listed there as well as topic posts. I would recommend starting with NMMNG, MAP and MMSLP.

Nice, I tried the guitar a while ago, I sure developed a lot more respect for people that are can play, it is definitely challenging. Most obvious interest for me is video games, it's one thing I have done all my life, but as I setup a list of things of things I do for me (NMMNG BFA#9 I think) and put that list next to my goals, I have found my interest to game has declined, I'd prefer to do things for me that help achieve my goals. I also started making mead, I don't really drink (just on the w…

This is a good point for sure. Just talking to people when grabbing coffee or the cashier at the store. Yes I have to some extent, but not a real effort at it. This seems like a logical step for sure.

Losing 30 lbs has done wonders for my confidence and general mood overall. But losing weight is not something that happens over night, I can be doing more then working out and dieting out to improve myself. One of the the next logical progressions would be to become more comfortable being social.

Wouldn't have entered into Toastmasters if I didn't enjoy it, I have done it briefly in the past so easy place to start. Really looking for ideas and brainstorming more then anything. If you've done some groups or hobbies that I don't find appealing, I won't be doing it. But then perhaps you have something that I would find interesting, but had not considered it up till now.

Thank you for this post. I just started into NMMNG at the start of May, since then I have finished that and read MAP and MMSLP, working on WISNIFG and Models. I started working out and dieting, already down to 265 lbs from 295 lbs. I've started to make myself "my own mental point of origin" and started to "mentally divorce" my wife to quote Rollo Tomassi. (his books are on my reading list) I have reconnected with some close friends, and joined my local toastmaster club. My biggest issue; I want …

My understanding is each persons meaning in life is unique and their own, meaning can be the same for decades or it can change in a second. I would recommend a book called "a man's search for meaning" by Viktor Frankl. Sounds like you are very concerned about regretting making a mistake in life. It seems to me regret is a teacher, I have things I regret in my life, and this helps makes me better today, I have learned from them but I try not to let that regret turn into guilt.

Goggins' mission of finding peace while being alone, within oneself inside his own mind is the only idea that makes sense Some good reads: The Art of Happiness - Dalai Lama A man's search for meaning - Viktor Frankl I've found both books very helpful (though I am only half way done The Art of Happiness).

You should read the art of Happiness. Even the Dalai Lama basically says that romantic love can be seen as an extreme, unlike those relationships based on caring and genuine affection. Romantic love is based on fantasy therefore unattainable and becomes a source of frustration. Romance is desire and risk, love is intimacy and comfort. The 2 are polar opposites of each other.

Sugar creates the same dopamine spike as cocaine. It is addictive. I think of sugar addiction like smoking, I've seen how tough it is to quite smoking, well sugar is no different. The fact you already lowered your cola intake I think is a win. Too much sugar and other refined carbs will keep your insulin levels high and make it tough to loose weight. Insulin tells your fat cells to store energy (you want them to release energy) and it also blocks Leptin from working in your brain. Leptin is what…

I would recommend the book "The art of happiness". I am only part way done but it really has made me re-examine a lot of things I took for granted. For me the biggest struggle was to learn that happiness is not found in pleasure, it is found in peace.

Even the Dalai Lama frowns on romantic love, as it is a thing based on fantasy, unattainable and so therefore becomes a thing of frustration. The idealization of this romantic love is seen as an extreme unlike those relationships based on caring and genuine affection. Perhaps this is one of the reasons arranged marriages rarely end up in divorce... They are not based on some notion of romantic love but rather they learn that level of caring and genuine affection. They don't come to the relations…

Also our western society has taught us that you can only be intimate with that "one" significant other. This is complete garbage that is programmed into us and is only there to really set us up for depression when that "one" turns out to not to fulfil our needs. I had to learn that intimacy, love and compassion are much more broad concepts. I used to think I needed that special other to have these, now I find them everywhere I look.

I too have been in therapy and found it very helpful. There is nothing to be embarrassed about, you are investing in yourself and your well being. I made sure to review the psychologists online first and picked a good one, it's my mental health and I am going to invest in it properly.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
