Courtesy of Grok: The claim that male Uber or Lyft drivers have been murdered or assaulted with deadly weapons by female passengers is rare but not entirely baseless, though it lacks significant supporting data to suggest it’s a widespread issue. Based on available information, including web sources and public records, there are isolated cases where female passengers have been involved in violent incidents against male rideshare drivers, including murder. However, these incidents are statistical…

I didn't ask for this. I didn't wake up one day with aspirations of ripping my family apart! I've reached the level of anger recently that had me envision what I was about to do. Like a third person view off my actions. I proceeded to accomplish my thoughts only to catch myself at the last second and do something else just as vicious. I sometimes think that's what it set me about to do in the first place but knew I had to be tricked. I would have never thought of that. One things for certain - T…

I am so sorry it's been like that for you. There is a ton of what some of us call "monstering" going on. I got a lot of rage from my XH in person. Either way it is terribly unfair. It sucks that feminism gave her the cover to act so badly. Feminism is supposed to help both sexes live a better life that is truer to who they are not to revile and denigrate one over the other. My guess is that she feels she has to hate and slander you, as mine did me. Because if we are loving and kind, then how can…

Neuroscience has shown that our brain has a built-in negativity bias. The grandest philosophies and major world religions are all, in a way, time-proven scintillating solutions against that bias. They foster love, hope, appreciation, the urge to improve and protect, and awed contemplation of what is beautiful and beyond ourselves. Those in turn offer the most potent neurochemical cocktails against fear, pain, and psychological annihilation. Your therapist is obviously offering a solution that is…

Wow that's amazingly kind of you to say. Most generous of you. I saw you helping others on this sub and kudos for being such a healing force of wisdom and honor for your fellow human beings. I'll look up that cheating gene idea. I never cheated. I however have only had two relationships, ever. I know I am not emotionally healthy. A fair number of guys had been interested in me since I was 14; I was and remain terrified of love. Just wanna be friends. My daughter did tell me recently that, watchi…

Both you and she deserve better. I might be wrong, but you are in no place to have a relationship with anyone else now. Cheating also inflicts trauma on the person who engages in it, because it is an expression of their internal pain and shatters their beliefs in themselves. So please consider healing your relationship with yourself first. You deserve love and happiness. You are meant for beautiful things like everyone else. Please be kind to yourself. A lot of people would tell you to suck it u…

I understand where you are coming from. Food for thought. TLDR: No good models from a relationship rooted in two families with systematic divorces and cheating with a 5% exception. My brother, it pains me to say, does what a lot of men whose fathers cheat do. Has cheated relentlessly his entire life. Models himself on our dad, perhaps in order to justify what happened, and in reaction to feeling unloved by him. Bro has Alexithymia. When I ask him why he makes choices such as marrying someone he …

I am sorry you are having a hard time. And I applaud you for striving to be a better person and to do right by others. Shame and guilt are meant to alert us to the need to change our behavior. If you harness them the right way you can be both good and happy. Best wishes and hugs.

I know you mean well, and thank you. The thing is that my father used to cheat on my mom. My XH knew I was traumatized; he did exactly what I most feared to me. It's no sacrifice to me to stay single. I don't trust relationships any more. I am aware that I am a product of intergenerational trauma, and see its cruel impact on my child. Both of my grandfathers cheated on my grandmothers too. It seems so ironic, doesn't it, that by cheating these men ensure that they can spread their genes, but at …

I am a woman whose XH cheated and initiated divorce. 6.5 years later my daughter is still having a terrible time. Self-harm thoughts. I never said a mean word about him and told her he was being brave in looking for a better life, but the hurt persists. He's on his third girlfriend and I have not dated. I have offers but my heart feels irretrievably broken. I would do anything to get a chance to restore our family for my child's sake. She is a gorgeous, smart, sweet and thoughtful 21 year-old. H…

I am so sorry you are going through this. My husband cheated on me and initiated divorce. My daughter had and still has self-harm thoughts. And let me assure you - I am as woke as they come. I am Asian-American, feminist, immigrant, worked to help other minorities. But I like y'all adored my family. I had so many men hit on me during my 19-year marriage. Never looked at any. My husband was my entire world. And I know other very liberal women who were left by their husbands for some shiny new aff…

It happens to some men. Men who are not white, not wearing a dress shirt, in a wheelchair...absolutely. But it does not happen to all men categorically. Whereas I've seen this happen to the blondest, best dressed, most athletic-looking women. It happens to us across the board.

No, she was talking about technicalities. The guy was defining "single-payer" healthcare to her. That's like someone off the street explaining the difference between an automatic and a stick-shift to a car mechanic. The mechanics of how healthcare is paid for is what they were discussing. You are right that there is ultimately an ethical dimension, but it's the mechanics the guy was describing and not the ethical underpinning. I am not a healthcare expert by any means, but I have a master's in p…

I can be wrong. I am only asking because, if marriage were a tennis game, then the "I've been playing my backhand wrong for 19 years!" realization makes perfect sense. It's all technique, a part that needs to be switched out, some mistake in the spaceship that, once fixed, all will be well. Marriage is instead the total sum of decisions, views, values and their changes, omissions and stasis. It's a "Total Person Concept" if anything is. It's done by you as you, not your backhand, not your spark …

If you think that I am asking it in bad faith, that should save you from having any undue credulity, no? If what I ask is sheer folly, a lie to entrap you into guilt, or blame-shifting, then by all means wipe it clean from your mind. You are master of your own soul.

May I just ask, for the sake of curiosity, how, if you made such an enormous mistake, you can go on and break up your family? I mean, the sort of mind and personality that would commit this error clearly cannot be trusted right away, right? Wouldn't you need years of introspection, hard work and therapy to right things within yourself? Ask what the processes and mistakes were that led you to do something so wrong for so long? Just wondering. Sorry if I am intruding.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
