I actually live in Austria so I have one more mandatory year of civil service before college, gonna be hard to move out before that. (Unless I've overlooked something?) Basically I'm being guilt-tripped and straight-up controlled by my dad each day and more so when distancing myself. Major's gonna be mech engineering. | 1 | How do you handle compliments?"Meet more people" is actually quite a good one. Generally, you can say a bunch of words one way or another, it really depends on how you say it. Swearing can come off as quite butthurt, so if you want to counter sarcasm, use more sarcasm! Not only is that the point of ball-busting the way I understand it (checking if the other dude is on-par with your humor in this case), but when delivered well, the insult just rolls off. | 1 | University in Europe? Still Possible?I haven't got much knowledge on the American-European transfer you're living through right now, but I'd like to focus on "ending uni at 23-24". As opposed to the US, in Europe it'd be rare to find someone leaving uni at 21, most students I see are around 23-25 (as you predict you'll be) and are enlisted in either a master's program or finishing up their bachelor. If you come across as a bit aloof and care-free with a chuckle, I think that's fine but if you're being nervous about it, try getting acquainted with pauses during talks.
