2	What are your thoughts on gender roles? I think they are only useful as far as they provide value and meaning for people. It's OK to want to be a stereotypical provider, so long as it doesn't disenfranchise you, or create problems for the people you love and I tract woth. Conversely, there are a lot of people who view gender roles as innate/inherent, and this is where the tension and harm comes from. 1	I Hate The Stigma As per my comment, my childhood friend killed himself earlier this week, thus emotional. 1	I Hate The Stigma That's what I was getting at, though it appears to be at play in this very comment section. I care about what the future looks like for men. A childhood friend of mine hung himself yesterday. Kids are drawing swastikas at the school my wife works in, and we're in Australia. Just like "feminism" os a somewhat outdated term, so is Patriarchy, in the sense that the system itself is inherently oppressive to both men and women, broadly. The dudes they have dealt with who say "men's rights" have just been misogynists, only pretending to care about men's advocacy for the sake of wanting to uphold traditional gender roles.
