Read around, get familiar with PPD, then let's have this conversation again

That's not what struggling young men get though. And that's not what they get from women. They get JBYF. But we've beaten that horse thoroughly to death around here, I will discuss it no further.

Effective, male-centric dating advice.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/16 08:30 PM

I suspect that most of that is disgust with anger phase. I think a fair bit of TRP is rubbish too, but it's better than any alternatives offered at the moment, with the possible exception of Models. I haven't read it yet.

One of these days that flair is gonna flip bud.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/16 06:59 PM

Your phrasing led me to believe you did. Edit: Also, acceptance sucks. I don't 'accept' my friends shitty behavior. I help them make positive changes, or else drop them.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/16 02:33 PM

Depends on the woman. It's usually worth it to go for it if you can handle her saying no. She might have bad taste ;)
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/16 02:11 PM
2

Your point: It is impossible to help people change anti-social behaviors. You can only pander to them and treat them kindly, despite their shit behavior. My point: You can indeed affect positive change in peoples behavior, but helping them cultivate good behaviors is easier than just trying to stamp out bad ones without doing anything else.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/16 02:03 PM

I was a world of warcraft addict for several years. I was lucky enough to have friends who encouraged me to continue to pursue other, more active and pro-social hobbies instead. It's not so much about discouraging bad behaviors as encouraging the growth of new, good ones. But blues want status quo. It is unthinkable to them that a beta-orbiter niceguy neckbeard could one day be a person of value.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/16 01:47 PM

Dunno why you're purple, that's straight up redpill logic and behavior.

That makes you red in the eyes of the blues.

Agreed. The male bell curve is flatter than the female. More extremes of every variety.

I mean, it's easy to invest in your community, but will it return anything for that investment? Likely not, because you have privilege.

You're changing the question by changing context. 'Am I okay with my long time girlfriend going to XXX VEGAS NIGHT SPOT with a bunch of single girls looking for anonymous dick?' Probably not, because meatmarket. 'Am I okay with my long time girlfriend going to Frank's Craft Beer Bar down the way with her best friend from college because there's live music tonight and we haven't caught up in weeks.' Absolutely, because of the context. Edit* The former is 'clubbing' the latter is not.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/16 03:28 PM

Go read Starship Troopers instead. The movie is amazing but doesn't do the book justice at all. The passage I quoted is DEEPLY instructive.

No No No, I've always been relationship minded except for briefly at the end of undergrad, even then I tripped into a year long relationship. From time to time. If by 'dread game' you mean 'Shape up or I'm leaving' then, yes, if the woman in question was worth 'shaping up' for. No Yes. "Mr. Dubois had said, "Of course, the Marxian definition of value is ridiculous. All the work one cares to add will not turn a mud pie into an apple tart; it remains a mud pie, value zero. By corollary, unskillful work can easily subtract value; an untalented cook can turn wholesome dough and fresh green apples, valuable already, into an inedible mess, value zero. Conversely, a great chef can fashion of the same material a confection of greater value than a commonplace apple tart, with no more e…

I have, and I have not. I always appreciate when a woman offers to pay for at least her half as I go for my wallet. Depending on the circumstance, I may let her pay for herself, or go dutch. I have no use for 'chivalry.' Any definition anyone would care to use is either a modern term or medieval term, neither of which I care for. I treat women who are close to me differently than I treat men who are close to me. I treat male and female strangers with as much courtesy as I am able to at the time.…

Because the women are answering the question of 'What other traits would you like sociosexually attractive men to exhibit beyond being sociosexually attractive?'
/r/PurplePillDebate16/03/16 06:08 PM
1

'Hey guys, what are you looking for in a girlfriend?' 'Kinda cute, nice to be around' tends to be the refrain. If a woman asked a man what she in specific could do to be more sociosexually attractive, she could get some very useful, pragmatic advice. My own answer would be 'Reduce bodyfat to healthy levels, build some muscles (Squats!), dress for the figure you have, not the one you wish you did, approach men that you think are interesting and ask them if they would like to get coffee/a drink.' …
/r/PurplePillDebate16/03/16 05:36 PM

It's commonly phrased as 'When women give men advice on what women like, all of the things they list are traits they want in men that they already find physically/sociosexually attractive.'

Depends on who you talk to. There is a growing community of 'Moderates' within TRP. There are also longstanding EC's who are disgusted with the state of the sub and it's fixation on anger phase. I believe that TRP first caught on with men who were trying to move from my category number 3 to category 2, and guys who are unhappy in category 2 caught on and want to become category 1.

There is a large spectrum of relationship outcomes that gets lumped together under the 'Chad Thundercock' label. If you had a few dates/girlfriends in high school/college, were rarely if ever cheated on, and ever got laid outside of a strictly defined boyfriend/girlfriend thing, you could be classified as 'Chad Thundercock' without much trouble or indeed, thought or accuracy. Depends on your point of view. Dark Triad men have more offspring on average than non-DT men. Evolutionarily, this is a good thing for that man. His sons are likely to exhibit some degree of DT themselves and have more children. Darwinian fitness cares not one whit for us, our opinions, or civilization.

Scheper-Hughes studies rural northern Ireland and finds that women leave for the city for education and jobs (Nursing, secretarial work, etc) and there is a cultural incentive for sons to stay on the farm. These young men become old bachelors and never find wives. They go nuts WAY more than any other demographic. Higher incidences of depression, suicide, schizophrenia, etc etc etc. But the interes…

An important piece of nuance to make note of. But you need, for lack of a better word, interpreters for those who find speaking in front of large groups difficult. If you wanna help poor dudes struggling with women/relationships, go help them. You'll do a lot more good that way than arguing with people on the internet. Once somebody has a cogent, workable, direct and EFFECTIVE alternative to TRP, TRP will go away.

so I come here to discuss that. You just said that you come here to point and laugh. Seriously, you are the best possible advertisement for TRP, keep it up.

My point is that lots of people here don't like red pill stuff. That's perfectly fine. Of the set of 'people who don't like red pill stuff' there are two subsets, 'People who want to debate (dictionary definition)' and people like belletaco, who just want to point and laugh, and complain they aren't being taken seriously. The purpose of this sub is debate, not point and laugh. that's what /r/bluepill is for. Technically belletaco isn't breaking THE RULES, but she is breaking the spirit of the ru…

I'll repeat myself. IF YOU THINK TRP IS DANGEROUS/SHOULD GO AWAY, YOU HAVE TO PROVIDE A SUPERIOR PARADIGM. Since you're still here, that must mean you don't have anything better and just want to be an argumentative ass. You don't want an actual debate, correct? You just want to point and laugh?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/11/15 06:52 PM

If you think it is dangerous/should go away, you have to provide a superior paradigm. If you don't, then stay away from debate subs.

That's a just world fallacy. Bad things happen to good people. I'm done talking to you. You leave a bad taste in my mouth.

My point here is that a guy who is not successful with women for years, and is not drawn into bitterness/cynicism/etc, IS NOT MENTALLY SOUND. As in he is ILL because his brain is not having normative responses to stimuli. It is normative for rejection to hurt. It is normative for repeated, unrelenting rejection to create cynicism and bitterness.

Feminist means person who wants equality for women. According to you. Lots of people have other definitions, and would say that you are NOT a feminist.

'Get along just fine' is your impression of the relationship. If the guy is a beta in an unsatisfying relationship he's not gonna say shit.

I don't identify as red pill. I am definitely anti-blue though, or anti-whatever the fuck the modern dating game is. Feel free to show me any data showing that majority of young people in relationships are unhappy and/or sexless. That's an entirely different question than the one we started with. But I like your specificity.

These are definetely not my experience. Which is the core of the biggest problem with this whole sub. Personal experiences vary widely and, emotionally, are bigger persuaders than mountains of data.

We have to make a distinction here. A man and a woman who have known each other for 2 years, been dating for 1, are in a relationship. A man and a woman who have known each other for 50 years, dated for 3, married for 46, are also in a relationship. Are those words describing the same thing? Absolutely not. Within the set of 'Heterosexuals in monogamous relationships between the ages of 21-27' there are some who are in good, fulfilling, emotionally and physically healthy relationships. I wouldn'…

It's what I've witnessed, not a mentality. There are men and women who have happy, and from what I can tell, physically rewarding relationships well into their marriages /after having kids. But they are not the norm.

I don't have much empathy for them in most cases. Anecdotally, (And there is some data to support this, I'll have to find it later though) they are the cause of their situation. Ignoring rationalizations, high percentages of the time they have altered the husbands behavior and appearance to the point where he is no longer sexually attractive. These women, by and large, also have social support for their choices (Even if it is just their girlfriends), and the behavioral changes they enforce on th…

That presupposes an already healthy sexual/relationship paradigm. Lots of guys might be in relationships, but that doesn't automatically make statistically significant numbers of those relationships healthy. It's a bad joke in western culture now that lots of guys get stuck in loveless, deadbedroom scenarios. Anecdotally, that seems to be the norm.

The majority of guys are in a relationship so by definition this cant be true. Men in relationships don't have to put in effort to get sex? Maybe not AS MUCH effort, but I still wouldn't apply the word easily to the phrase.

The point is that populationally speaking, both men and women can be viewed on bell curves. The male bell curve for intelligence, violence, hell, even height and weight is flatter and wider than the female. There are more males at both extremes, and more women in the middle. That isn't saying that there aren't high achieving or highly violent women, it's saying that there are fewer of them than men.

It was previously asserted that You should cultivate female friends in the hope that one of those friendships will become romantic, after first being platonic It was then also asserted that Eh, I think it's more about the way you state your intentions. Being bluntly honest while also respecting someone's right to say no is easy. Although it's unrealistic, what part of my quote violates those terms? In letter or in spirit?

Guaranteed that if you get an MD, you will marry a guy with one, or an equivalent. If you get an RN, statistics say you'll end up with an MD, MD PHD. You will not give plumbers the time of day.
