Well, sure, but there are bad apples in every lot. It seems as if the vast majority of people were reasonable.

What am I missing here? It seems to me like your comments were upvoted, and the comments arguing that she's not a rapist were downvoted.

From the article: a young white woman charged with foot on a subway seat

I really enjoy how often-touched the woman's legs are. They must be so silky!

Ya'll do know that dailymail is a tabloid and is not to be taken seriously, right?

If someone assaults you, you are fully in your right respond with force. Morally, or legally? I believe that, legally, you can only use force for self defense. When someone's assault on you ends, you have no legal right to retaliation. You could've shoved her off of you legally, but returning a punch after she's stopped assaulting you would not have been legal. Why didn't you call the cops and file a police report???

You're right but, sadly, that's not how most Americans feel (yet). I'm sure there's tons of misinformation about the dangers of smegma and improper cleaning being touted by those who support MGM. We need to get more Americans to see it as you currently do.

The difference lies in who enters first. If you open the door for someone, they go first. If you hold the door for someone, you go first. The men I work with are, for the most part, taken aback when I gesture that they should go first.

I just asked my partner and he says that he wouldn't be willing to do any of those things, either. Would you? If so, which?

I wouldn't be willing to do any of those things. However, I don't believe I would be willing to do them for women if I were a man... Maybe that makes me a bad person.

It's because he's a minor. The same thing happens when kids don't want their vaccines. If the parent decides it's necessary, it happens. What needs to change is the law. MGM needs to be straight up outlawed until the male is eighteen and can make that decision for himself.

Would you be comfortable living with the opposite genetalia? If you identify as a man, would you be cool with having a vagina?

I'm a woman who makes a point of opening doors for the men with whom I'm walking and talking, and they ALL at least look at me like I have three heads. About half of them will stop walking and refuse to cross the threshold before me. Wtf. Not everyone is ready for equality.

You did not say anything wrong, but I'd suggest not mentioning "feminism" next time. Sure, we know what you mean by that, but not everyone does and the word means different things to different people. Generalizing groups of people is an easy way to put people on the defensive - which is exactly how this conversation started (OP generalizing MRAs). Instead, I find that you can get a better reception (and thus end up speaking to people more willing to listen) if you use examples instead of labels,…

It's the same feeling some women get the first time she's alone in a bedroom with a man. Is he going to rape me? Probably not because most men are not psychopaths and most women wait until they get a sense of safety around a man before deciding to go there. But guess what? Most women are also not psychopaths. Also you should be waiting to have sex with a partner until you trust them not to do this. Maybe that means no one night stands, but the women who fear rape don't often partake in those eit…
/r/MensRights04/04/15 03:14 PM

I'm sorry I made it sound that way. That's not what I believe. I tried very hard to convey that in my post. Can you please tell me what I should've said to make myself clear?

I agree. I'd like to see a place where men, women, and others can all discuss equal rights without the word feminism being used

So, what? Am I simply not allowed to fight for men's rights because I'm female?
/r/MensRights23/03/15 01:35 PM

Wtf, NO. I genuinely believe that there are currently many people, of any gender, who absolutely hate and blame the other ones for their problems, whether those problems are real or not. There are also those who take advantage of the legal system to do so. Yes, many of them are women, and many of those women call themselves feminists! I'm just saying that there must exist more people like me who, regardless of their genitals, believe in truly equal rights between the genders. I previously believ…
/r/MensRights23/03/15 01:31 PM

Ok, I think I understand your point. You don't think there's currently any value in having a multi-gendered, united front against gendered discrimination of all kinds? But perhaps there will be in a few years?
/r/MensRights23/03/15 01:28 PM

Ah, I don't believe that and I don't believe that I'm unreasonable. I think we'd all be the same if society didn't train us to be different. Mentally, not physically. But I don't believe that our physical differences cause us to react that differently in a mental sense.

I'm just looking for a place where I can defend ALL RIGHTS. I, like many women, support things such as: equal sentencing for sex offenders, equal custody/alimony laws, equal employment rights, equal support for victims of abuse, equal everything. Ghost edit: the word equal looks weird if you put too much thought into it.
/r/MensRights23/03/15 01:17 PM

Exactly. I feel like it's the same with many who call themselves feminists. A very vocal portion of them may hate men, but many people who support women's rights also support men's.
/r/MensRights23/03/15 01:12 PM

Well I'm a woman and I do not feel this way. I also don't believe I'm in the minority, regardless of gender.
/r/MensRights23/03/15 01:10 PM

Ok, so, this is the kind of comment I'd want banned in this fictitious sub. Here you blame women, not feminists.
/r/MensRights23/03/15 12:56 PM

Ugh this special snowflake and triggered ppl infuriates me. Why can't we all just get along? However, what do you call women who still suffer from gender bias against them, yet who also fight against gender bias for men? For example, a woman who believes there should be baby changing tables in the men's room and equal sentencing applied to rapists, regardless of gender, yet still get cat called or drugged by men in the clubs?
/r/MensRights23/03/15 12:52 PM

I don't disagree with any of those things. In fact, I'd want them to be present in any sub. Anecdotal evidence is just bullshit

Done, thanks
/r/MensRights23/03/15 12:48 PM

I'm a woman and I thought this way for a long time. By that I mean I thought that feminism meant equality for all genders. However, I've come to realize, through reddit, that either the word has evolved over time, or that it never actually meant this (to most people). I absolutely hate that people are becoming opposed to one another, instead of fighting for equality together. I believe that men and women and the other genders should all be treated equally, and I don't believe I'm the only one. C…
/r/MensRights23/03/15 12:33 PM

Yeah, that's one thing I'd want the mods to remove.
/r/MensRights23/03/15 12:21 PM

I don't believe that MRAs hate women. I only believe that, as the achronym suggests, it's based on men's rights. I agree that the word feminism is used by a great deal of people who villify men. I'm looking for people fighting for equal rights for all people. Am I wrong in assuming that posts detailing gender bias against women are unwelcome in this sub? If I am, I'll delete this post ASAP. Not that there's anything wrong with those posts being unwelcome here. It's just not the place for it. I'd…
/r/MensRights23/03/15 12:15 PM

My mistake. That was 100% unintentional and I do not believe that. Would it help to edit the post now, or would that make it seem like I was back peddling?

ARE YOU FUCKING SORRY?
/r/MensRights23/03/15 11:48 AM

It didn't. Sorry if my reddit reference went over your head.
/r/MensRights23/03/15 11:34 AM

I don't disagree with you. I'm just saying that there exist some people who fight for equality for EVERYONE. I'd like to see al l of those people come together.

Oh. I just misspoke, then.
/r/MensRights23/03/15 11:29 AM

Woah, I never meant to imply otherwise. I agree with you.
/r/MensRights23/03/15 10:45 AM

Sorry, I've really not been in this sub so much, but from what I've seen so far, the feminist movement does seem to be to blame for many men's troubles.

ARE YOU FUCKING SORRY?
/r/MensRights23/03/15 10:43 AM

I'd be happy to see open-minded critical debate. I'm envisioning a sub where any article or story involving gender bias is welcome, but any comment directly blaming a gender, MRAs, or feminists, gets removed. Does that make sense? I'm unsure if my meaning comes across. I just feel that MRAs and feminists are at odds with each other, and that many reasonable people are feeling forced to choose sides. If I did make this sub, I'd make sure there were mods from both movements, who have all proven to…
/r/MensRights23/03/15 10:05 AM

Sorry if I broke the sub's rules submitting this. Feel free to delete or recommend a better place to get the attention of the MRA movement.

Yes, I agree 100%.

Chuck Testa. Feminism and egalitarianism are, quite literally, the same thing.
