Firstly, I feel more context is needed for this question because it's hard to say what an appropriate response would be given the relationship of the girl asking. Yeah, they probably are doing it for tips, but they could also not flirt with you all the same if they didn't want to. If they're being overly friendly it also opens the door to react the same.
