< a handful of same sex cases This just opened the door for a flood of same sex marriages and over time, as divorces happen, it will gradually revolutionize our current sex-based jurisprudence. I am not a MRA just a lawyer who sees that the implications of this are huge. I thought all the "divorce rape" TRP types would be happy at this prospect.

I am not suggesting TRP will embrace the concept of marriage. However, TRP should embrace the change in divorce/custody law that this will cause. It will benefit men.

Huh? If they read my posts on and regarding TRP I would be fine with that. It's the fact that TRP censors and bans (contemporaneous) dialectic that is problematic and unhealthy both for TRP and it's patrons.

< Science is indeed amoral. It is merely hypothesizing and testing. All of the ethics boards you mention are attempting to constrain science to a particular morality. From a social prospective they're necessary, but from a pure science prospective...they certainly get in the way of research especially when it comes to human test subjects. Some pure science theories and applications are truly amoral. However, most theories lose that naivete when transitioning to application. For instance, the Man…

<*Ok. The. Who decide what is moral and what is immoral ? You for you... And... Me for me. Or you for me.* I don't have a problem with this, never have. It's pretending that its amoral that bothers me. Just own it instead of lying.

No I just pointed out their misinterpretation of Aurelius and the logical problems with their assertion that TRP functions in an amoral landscape. So the proper analogy would be going to a genetics sub and pointing out a mistake in their interpretation of Mendel and pointing out that the science of eugenics cannot be amoral either. Your analogy is inappropriate. It is the type I see TRP make daily.

If it were only mature Redditors such as yourself I would have much less of a difficulty with TRP. However, I regularly see posts from some as young as 15 years who are in a crucial stage of psychological development. You can do real damage by promoting negative/destructive thinking at that age.

Take a look at narcissistic personality disorder and it's key traits: http://psychcentral.com/disorders/narcissistic-personality-disorder-symptoms/ Edit: What made me think of TRP and narcissistic personality disorder was the sharing of what is regarded by some as the "key trait:" The most telling thing that narcissists do is contradict themselves. < So what if they do? The point is that SOME of the prescribed methods advocated by TRP will actually worsen these issues. There is reference in TRP to "reprogramming" as a process. An outcome of deliberate attempts to reduce empathy, increase manipulation and view others (women) as evil and sub-human is a risk of sociopathic disorders. That is the sort of thing that can really fuck up your life. Many fields of employment do psychological testing as do courts in family law matters. If you test a…

What I have seen on TRP is a very juvenile sense of Aurelius (in particular) and stoicism (generally). Here is an excellent overview of Aurelius and Stoicism that is universally accepted amongst scholars in the field: http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/marcus-aurelius/ Part III: Justice for the sake of the cosmopolis seems missing in the TRP understanding of Aurelius. Fundamental to his concept of a "good man" was that he would act as a responsible citizen and contribute to the welfare of the cos…

Here is what you are not getting or purposely avoiding: by directing "debate" to another sub you deprive TRP of meaningful debate. This is the same strategy adopted by corporations for many years. If there is some contraversial topic that holders of stock want to address at a share holders meeting they will claim "it isn't the appropriate time and place because it will derail their (agenda)" and refer it to a committee for another time. This removes the context and timeliness which effectively b…

As it stands presently TRP is more like attending church than participating in any discussion of ideas. I noted on first checking it out some obvious (to me) breaches of logic in their founding principles and some interpretations. What struck me as really perverse was the notion that Marcus Aurelius was a proponent of amorality. I was an Aurelius scholar in university and nothing could be further from the truth. When I tried to point out the mistake in their interpretation as to what he meant, I…

Idk if I'm wrong about AA, as I attended meetings also and in THOSE meetings there was a lot jingoism ("play the tape," "fake it 'til you make it") and pressure to turn yourself over to a 'higher power'. However, I did meet some wonderful people too. When I use the term 'losers' I am using the self-referenced form that many RP's use to describe themselves pre-TRP. Red Pillers know that they are pretenders so they don't feel adequate to compete with naturals for an experienced woman. As a result they target a naive virgin in the hopes she will overlook their many dysfunctions. They are in for a surprise though as many of those naive virginal types have an awakening as they mature and become desirous of an equal relationship with a real man.

The difficulty I have with it is that you seem to have picked the most favorable example for TRP and a bland (almost non-existent) one for BP. I would have similarly complained had you given us a basement dwelling STEM nerd who lifts but has Aspergers for TRP and a brilliant sensitive medical student who used to be a male model but now marches for social justice as the BP rep. Am I to take from this that EP has made a comeback? When I went to university (some 20+ years ago) it had been quite discredited and was well back of SSM or cultural modeling. How has it been able to overcome the twin fallacies (known as the naturalistic fallacy (that what is found in nature is good) and the moralistic fallacy (that which is good is found in nature)) which plagued its rationale? The reason I ask is that those same fallacies seem to be fuelling OP's analysis. Well, that and it to…

I can't post this in TRP because I am banned from doing so presently. TRP is inviting comparisons to Pravda, an information source affiliated with another 'red' system of theories which handled dissent similarly: censorship, intimidation and banning. We all know how that worked out in the end.

Some more room for debate and discussion. Anytime someone posts something that challenges any aspect of the orthodox view, a mod pops up and pulls the plug. We are not children and are quite capable of considering differing viewpoints. Sure, obvious attempts at trolling must be discouraged but it is swung too far in favor of censorship. The interpretation of the rule "alleging moral imperatives which cannot be deduced from empirical observation" has become "no discussion of morality whatsoever."…

You have misunderstood what Aurelius was trying to convey. He was saying that we know what a good man does. He does not steal, kill, cheat or otherwise debase himself. A good man does not need to be told these things. Lastly, it was an admonition to not allow philosophy to become an excuse to delay and avoid moral decisions. I would argue that reliance on 'TRP is amoral' is a deliberate construct to avoid moral responsibility. It is a means to equivocate for which Aurlelius would have branded yo…

I think you are over-thinking things and taking this sub too seriously. If one accepts a dogma and applies it with no regard to the conflict felt internally, they are literally failing themselves. I work in the criminal justice profession and have participated in cases where bar/street fights have resulted in serious injury or death. I agree. The upside though is when the shit goes down it is somewhat comforting to have an idea what should happen. I did some self defence training about 15 years ago through www.scars.com that was incredibly useful in how to handle street fight and weapon situations. About a decade letter I interrupted a guy trying to break into our house. He came at me with a knife. I managed to knock him out (after taking one stab to my forearm). It was nice to have that training.

That's a thoughtful post on this topic OP. I have boxed for close to 30 years now, for sport as a teenager and fitness since. However I have always appreciated the confidence it has given me for those uncomfortable situations where violence is threatened or foreseeable. I have had a few fights over the years but I would strongly agree that the best strategy is to avoid if at all possible. Humans are remarkably fragile and a subdural hemotoma is not that rare of an outcome from a street fight.

I appreciate the effort you put in but this would not be enforceable in family court for a number of reasons. Some of the basic issues are that you can not contract out of certain rights (be they legislative or jurisprudence derived). You can not legally contract out of a right which does not belong to you or for which you have standing for- child support is the right of the child not the mother. The b…

I would say she succeeded: so many views that her site could not handle all the traffic. Maybe she was looking to promote unity between TRP and XX as both hated it. What a strange woman.

< well then the law needs to be changed I neither agree nor disagree but simply say that ship sailed long ago in the legal world. There is decades of jurisprudence that support that position. It will not be changing so you need to look elsewhere for solutions.

I have two sons who are school age and this does not concern me in the slightest. Nothing could have shaken my desire to bang every girl I saw when I was that age. Plus we talk about things like this in our home. If you think you can avoid issues with kids by not talking about it or trying to mislead them (abstinence-based sex 'education', DARE Drug program, etc) you are sorely mistaken. Junior is not going to go LGBQT just because they talk about it at school.

Difficult to see how financial abortion could be applied legally. Financial support is for the child not the mother therefore she is not in a position to waive it. There have already been cases where women have signed agreements to no financial support that are not upheld in court as they say the woman had no right to make that decision.

If you are making considerable gains naturally you don't need to contemplate PED's. It's an unwarranted risk.

If this is all that stands between your SO and infidelity then that's going to be a problem.

I can see no downside to a medication like this. Bring it on.

Neckbeard did one of the lamest proposals I have ever seen. Props to his girl for rejecting that shit. McDonald's Drive-Thru?!

Pretty good creative writing. Not sure why you are pretending it actually happened though.

The article said it was his idea. My youngest is 7 and he gets strange ideas too but I let him run with them unless it's going to hurt him or someone else. I am not going to teach him he can't grow his hair long to help out a cancer charity just because he is boy.

Hitch would not have been into the TRP. He thought the whole jock (lifting) / frat (rating girls 1-10) culture manifested itself into entitled sociopaths who plundered society as politicians and businessman. Read "Arguably" by him to gain a better understanding of him. I suspect he would seen some good in our endeavour but felt some dismay with our execution.

I don't see the logic in the impossibility of turning a hoe into a housewife. This would mean that a player could never become a husband. Each of those scenarios required a difficult transition into a committed relationship but can be done. I think its more hamsters masquerading as TRP who are insecure about themselves and want a wife who has no experience. However, those sort of wives sometimes have an awakening and start to desire experiences later. My wife was neither a hoe or a virgin and th…

I fail to see how his gender change can impact your life. If it bothers you that's probably something you need to work on.

As a parent with two sons I do not have a problem with this. He was intrigued with the cancer charity and wanted to contribute. That's laudable. That he had to endure some taunts probably did some positive for his character: there are always small-minded individuals trying to derail you. Ignore them.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
