Ok I normally agree with this sub, but this is a shit take. Especially since the vast majority of military age men would have been married, meaning joining the army or RAF would have been directly protecting their families.

While I agree with the sentiment, the USMC did a study a few years ago that showed mixed gendered units perform substantially worse than all Male units. Something about how females tend to be less lethal, worse under pressure, and less able to make decisive decisions.
