There are generally 2 ways a society could be prudish or largely abstinent. The first is what the majority of them are, societies where sex is improperly looked down upon, but that also expect you to be completely fine going right into it after marriage. It's an extremely poor idea and the main problem with abstinent-only education, especially considering the significantly different opinions on sex in the modern times. On the flip side, you can still see the charts where those that remained virg…

There aren't many studies on it as ED is underresearched in general, but the 2 I saw indicated that somewhere between 61-72% of men experience some level of sexual dysfunction while under the influence of alcohol. I'd say even 60% would constitute saying most men

I’ll address your points separately: To the first part, please read my comment again. Much of my comment was explaining that not all men get alcohol or drug induced ED. In fact, the statement that you copied was immediately followed by the words “this is not a perfect mindset as not all men get alcohol induced ED.” Secondly, you misunderstand ED. Erectile dysfunction is not just about a complete inability to get an erection. It is also about the inability to stay hard, the inability to get compl…

If a man gets extremely drunk, he has the risk of getting ED to some extent. Anything from quick losses of erections to total prevention, and this has been documented in various studies. However, barring a woman passing out, there’s no change in a sober and drunk woman from that perspective. So, if there’s evidence she was drunk (usually a friend’s confirmation), there’s evidence that a rape occurred as if the man was drunk sex would’ve been extremely unlikely. Unfortunately this is not a perfec…

A few points have to be made about the statistics used. Firstly, provided all the numbers are true (I highly doubt it but arguing that would get us nowhere), they still don’t tell the whole story. If I date 50 women and cheat on all of them and they’re all surveyed, it would all lead back to me (1 man) but would massively skew the survey. Add in the fact that cheaters are incredibly likely to cheat again and you have further proof of that idea, that it’s a lot of the same people. The same is tru…

Regardless of the actual claims, I don’t buy into the “people are having less premarital sex because of morality” claims. The primary moral opposition to it, Christianity, has fallen apart in recent times. Upwards of 50% of christians are okay with premarital sex and contraceptives, which directly contradicts their statements about modern morality. I think a larger issue is a rise in porn addiction, and that many of the 25+ crowd in 2010 that never watched porn outgrew the survey.

Men and women are attracted in very different ways, and it’s shown in the constantly cited dating app data. Men, having a much larger libido and being able to feel greater attraction from looks, tend to put more women on the “more attractive” side. Women, with a lower libido and less look based attraction, tend to put more men on the “less attractive” side. As seen in real life though, they’re very willing to date men that they would’ve placed on the “less attractive” side. It’s because their at…

I didn’t fully read your question, my bad. Just ignore the “as you say” and “you”, the actual point I try to make stays the same.

Women are attracted by significantly different things than men are. As you say, you see a lot more attractive females with average looking men, meaning that you’re placing value purely on the looks of both of them. While you know nothing about the value of the woman outside of her looks, it’s very likely the man has something that the woman really likes, be it his personality, specific interactions between the two, future career opportunities he might have, who knows. That’s the same reason that…

The goal of marriage in my eyes is to signify that you’re going to be starting a family. You both agree to only love, have sex with, and raise kids with that person for the rest of your life. Once you get several years into raising your children, the age when you would assume he would look for someone younger, there’s no reason to. He has his family with someone he loves, so any other thoughts should be irrelevant. Obviously, as with everything else, “should” is the important word there and not …

I’m assuming your question is if you should follow your heart or your friends and so I’ll give my best insight on it. The first step into seeing how good a relationship would be should be to exclude their past and focus on the present. Looking just at what you mentioned, a girl who “isn’t looking to settle down in a committed relationship”, is already committed to having sex with you despite that, and is “not financially (and likely not emotionally) stable” are all things that would immediately …

Porn is one of the worst creations ever made, and is rightfully mentioned in over 50% of divorce proceedings. Regardless of how high your libido is, not being able to go a day without either sex or masturbating isn’t a normal thing and is something that should be worked on instead of given in to. As for sexual fantasies and fetishes, they work back on that principle. You’re addicted to sex, are unable to consistently have it normally, and so you have to turn to fetishes. Porn is one of the most …

While the post set up this way is kinda counterproductive as you’re calling out men and giving obvious ideas rather than actually giving good advice, I do agree with it. Women are having sex at a higher rate than ever while men are reversing to pre-sexual revolution rates of virginity at ages like 18-21. While rates reversing should be a good thing in my mind due to my religious beliefs, the general trends are not a good thing. Porn use and amount is significantly up, so it’s not that sexual act…

I think you’re placing too much value on things that most people see as fantasy by looking into a small group of men that make the most noise. The real issue is not that a few men that are awful socially see these harem animes and believe they are due women for being kind, it’s that a majority of men see porn and unable to separate that fantasy from reality. The actual issues with relationships these days as well as the oversexualization of women both stem from an extreme rise in porn viewing, n…

I think there is a point to get worried about in the future as people will be having children later and sperm quality and quantity is decreasing. That, however, is an entirely separate issue and will not need to be dealt with for at least decades if not longer than a century. The real issue is looking at declining birth rates while looking at the generational gap and not understanding that this dip isn’t going to inevitably reverse. The last generation of having children in the early 20’s is on …
