I'm definitely getting a r/thatHappened vibe from this post, for sure.

I've sorted it out, you had to be dragged there kicking and screaming like a petulant child. It depends on the context, sometimes equal treatment is wrong, and sometimes it isn't.

Not one film at all, there are way more. In X-Men, Wolverine fights multiple women, in Total Recall Arnold fights Sharon Stone, Batman fights Catwoman multiple times in different films, John McClane fights a woman in the fourth Die Hard, Zorro fights a woman in The Mask of Zorro, Max fights Furiosa in Fury Road, these are just off the top of my head. There are tons, you just don't care.

How many women does it have to be before you stop crying about it? 50/50? Are you looking for equity in movie goons? The reality is that we don't see men beating up women in movies as much because it's less compelling to watch, and it would be less of an accomplishment for the male hero character. Most men can beat up most women.

It's not just one woman in John Wick, it's multiple.

Men push the idea that men are expendable, there's even a friggin' movie series directed and written by men called The Expendables. How is this a women thing?

Atomic Blonde handles it well too, her character does best multiple men but she gets the shit kicked out of her in the process and barely walks away alive.

It sounds like your argument is that some movies... are unrealistic in how they portray fighting. Well shit, and here I am thinking John Wick fighting the entire friggin' world was believable. You taught me something today, good sir.

Empathy isn't just understanding emotions, it's also feeling and sharing those emotions. Manipulation, as you demonstrated, is also not inherently bad.

2

Are you saying these are bad things, or...?
/r/MensRights15/09/23 01:48 PM

Rape? That seems kind of redundant, of course men are more likely to be falsely accused, they're far more capable of raping than women and are more likely to rape... I think someone with more empathy is probably more likely to treat people well than someone with less empathy.
/r/MensRights14/09/23 10:08 PM
-22

Do you think someone with more empathy is more or less likely to do good? Falsely accused of what?
/r/MensRights13/09/23 11:36 PM
-26

Pretty sure studies have shown men are more likely to cheat than women, and that women consistently score higher in empathy than men, so... not really. There are criticisms to be levied at women, but collectively this ain't one of them no matter how many women have pissed you off personally.
/r/MensRights13/09/23 10:20 PM

/r/MensRights26/08/23 08:02 PM

But that... doesn't make sense. He's a tall white male perceived as less threatening but he would've done the same thing? Why does that matter when we're talking about how threatening a woman is?
/r/MensRights26/08/23 06:15 PM
-6

No, I wouldn't, if he mentioned "black" I would assume it's because society often considers black men more threatening than any other group, so he mentioned his race. The same is not true of white men, so I'm not sure why it was mentioned.

my question is why you went immediately to "he could have sexually abused them Because it's a possible reason why a woman might want to dance on the grave of her father. as if twerking on his grave did anything that would equate to that, likely meaning that he was a normal dude with some weird daughters, if he did something terrible it would be more likely that they just outright make fun of him / or did something to the gravestone They are outright making fun of him by publicly dancing on his g…

are you implying he killed women and children? No, I'm outright stating that simply being a veteran doesn't excuse other behaviour or entitle you to respect regardless of anything else you do. I made this about as clear as possible. Killing women and children was an example of something you could do, while also being a soldier, that would remove any entitlement you had to anyone's respect. Being a veteran doesn't give you carte blanche to be a cunt, nor does it demand respect regardless of behaviour. If someone's defending their country, but they're also out there killing women and children like in Vietnam, that person does not deserve respect. If someone's defending their country, but then coming home and abusing their wife and children, physically or sexually, that person does not deserve respect. That goes double when they're dead, since corpses aren't sentient. Respect is not …

Nothing. This sub frequently posts women doing bad things which in some way involve men, often leaving out additional context, in an effort to paint women in a negative light. Simply "placing more women in power" won’t resolve the problem, because one gender isn’t better than the other, it’s all about the person itself Nobody said one gender was "better" than the other overall, but since men generally don't seem to give a shit about other men, it might be time to put more women in charge and see what happens. Because the soldiers come home and don't have jobs. This really is a pretty well-documented phenomenon. Japan's actually got a really informed take on it, in relation to the Samurai class and its connection to organized crime. That's 20 year-old research, my dude. Things might have changed since then. Those aren't modern beauty standards though, I don't think most men give a shit if a woman has a perfectly defined jawline or perfectly symmetrical lips. The more symmetrical your features are the better, but very few people are gonna think you're not hot if you have a few slightly asymmetrical ones. Hell, imperfections often make women sexier. Why are these teachers always hot? It baffles me, if they wanted to cheat they could probably have any man they wanted, of any age, and yet they choose a child... Is it emotional immaturity? Is it wanting to have power over them or easily manipulate them? Is it lack of teenage exploration making them wanna relive their own youth? Or is it just because of the forbidden nature of it all making it extra exciting for them?

If you're gonna start claiming women act like fragile teenagers, then you should specify that it's the women you've personally encountered in your limited experience. In what world is $52,000 a month not living a luxe lifestyle? Just because it's not $240,000 a month doesn't mean it isn't more than enough to give the kids more or less anything they need. Child support exists to safeguard children's well-being and ensure their base needs are adequately met, not to fucking ensure the mother is able to financially compete with the father for their children's affection by buying them the most shit. You seem pretty angry, are you okay? Given how many blokes on this sub accuse women of being overly emotional, a ton of you are very, very bitter people. Calm yourself down. If marital rape is bad then you should be in favour of criminalising it. You can do that while also pushing for harsher legislation punishing those who falsely accuse. I skim-read your link, and it appears to inflate the figures of male rape by including other criteria, while it's not clear if they did the same for the female rape figures. It even acknowledges the limitation: "It is perhaps not appropriate to call all these cases rape; to borrow a term from Hartwick, Desmarais and Hennig (2007), a lot of these men have possibly been “sexually victimized”. There's no evidence I'm aware of that false accusations happen at anywhere near the level of actual rape, or that men are raped remotely as often as women are. So while I do care about female-on-male rape and false accusations, I tend to focus on the larger problems.
/r/MensRights06/07/23 12:57 PM

It's anti-rape if the victims are male, if they're female nobody here gives a shit. Unfortunately, this sub is pretty misogynistic, and the mods either don't care enough to do something about it, or they're just as fucked up as many of the members. This is basically the male equivalent of FDS, only arguably worse since there's virtually no attempt to even thinly conceal hatred of women, it's out on display.

Of course not, that's why you keep calling them "whamen", I'm sure that's a term of respect and endearment... Nobody said being a man was toxic, the claim is that certain types of behaviour primarily exhibited among males are considered toxic masculinity. There are also non-toxic aspects of masculinity. People care less about a man's emotions than a woman's, but I think that's more true of other men than it is of women. Women are more likely to care about a man's feelings than men are.

I’m sorry but for my sanity i can only conclude you are either evil, brain damaged, trolling or all 3. I'm not the one personally insulting people, lad. And how does putting a father in prison help the child? The father will surely lose whatever job he did have. It incentivises other fathers to pay child support, which helps children. The state will also take away a fathers drivers license, making him unable to get to and from work. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure there are ways to get to work without a car. This is just a straight up lie. We don't know what happened yet and we don't even know if the woman will be arrested at all, the article just says it might happen. It's entirely possible that she might not get arrested, or that she might, but both of them are guilty of domestic violence. This does not mean he was "falsely accused" of anything, knee jerk responses like this are just as bad as those who condemn the accused before the trial.

But not all women are disinterested in being friends or meeting with people outside of work hours. The question is, as men who are expected to make the first move, how else are we supposed to know unless we ask? This guy's mistake was continuing to ask after he was told no the first time. If you just never ask at all, then that's yet another place men can't attract women. What places are left, at this point?

If a girl says no the first time and doesn't say "We could do it another time" or make arrangements, this suggests she's not interested. What you don't do is ask her two more times, that actually does sound like harassment.

Without men choosing to lynch them nothing happens, what do you mean? If the same accusation was made today, that man would still be alive. The primary cause of the man being lynched was the men choosing to fucking lynch him. On zero evidence. But I guess the woman is solely to blame, not the actual murderers. I can't tell if you're joking, so I'll just respond as if you're not. Men were entirely in power back then and women were relegated to prized possessions who existed to cook, clean and have babies. Internalized misandry wouldn't be a thing because white men weren't taught that they were inferior, they occupied the highest rungs of society and were regarded as the example of success. Which biology papers say women get nicer on testosterone, and men protect women because they can procreate?
/r/MensRights21/06/23 03:43 PM

Tribalism too, sure, but toxic masculinity describes (among other things) the testosterone-fuelled rage men go into when they even suspect a woman has been harmed. We've seen this manifest in white knights who assault men in the street for defending themselves against women. They don't know what the context is, they just immediately and instinctually protect the woman violently, because to them women are possessions. Especially white women.

I doubt the woman who lied anticipated that she would cause a riot that huge, as opposed to people who intentionally went over there to burn shit down and kill or harm people. It was likely an inevitability, whites at the time didn't like that blacks were doing their own thing and succeeding without whites. They felt threatened by it, and used the white woman's accusations as an excuse to cause chaos. Most, if not all of the rioters were men, and most people who commit violent crime in general e…

It's not "right" per se, but it's understandable. Most straight men are not a threat, but they're significantly more likely to be than gay men. You can't necessarily challenge a preference, but you can challenge the underlying mindset that leads to it. So for example, if you say you will only date white women, that's your right, however it could suggest some underlying perception that you think white women possess qualities unique unto them that other races cannot possess, ergo racism. Challenging said racism is valid, and should the person's mind be changed, it's possible their preference would by extension.

Some of these people clearly have mental health issues, they're speaking incoherently, their mannerisms are erratic - definitely either psychiatric disorders or drugs, or both. Probably best not to make fun of them.

The degree to which women "don't want to be approached" appears to vary largely based on how attractive they find the man approaching them, and how well he does it. I've even witnessed a ton of women basically admit to this, that they let attractive men get away with a lot more, so if you're good looking and sociable then you probably have greater options for approaching women in most public settings. If you're not, then pretty much anywhere you attempt to approach them you're probably gonna get…

People don't naturally want to be subservient to others. Even literal children don't want to be told what to do by their parents Do you think that's all subservience entails? Being told what to do? Implicit within the concept of subservience is taking care of the person you're dominating, it's not just telling them what to do, it's providing for them. Men are trapped by toxic masculinity. Men would rather live up a social standard of being unemotional than admit they suck at figuring out their emotions and communicating them. Men are less likely to seek out help and try to learn new shit to improve their life. My point has never been that no one can stand against the US military, my point is that no one can stand against the US military in 2022 on their home turf and win. The example of Vietnam in which US soldiers were ill equipped and with vastly inferior technology compared to today, being hit with guerilla tactics in an environment they were completely unfamiliar with, is not even remotely analogous to a civilian militia attempting to take on the US military today in their own fucking country. The…

You take a chance every time you walk down a dark alley or drive on the road, what do you mean? People take chances all the time, and this is a relatively small one because most burglars aren't gonna be there to kill the owner. They're gonna be there because they don't know the owner is home, or because they think they can burgle the house without being seen. If you're saying you should just kill someone purely because you don't know if they have lethal intent for certain, I could justify a ton …

Did I say anything about psychic powers? I said hide or order them to leave at gunpoint. You could do that from behind a wall, most burglars aren't gonna wanna stay for a fucking shootout, they're gonna book it as soon as they know you're there and willing to kill them if necessary. Now there's always a remote chance of course that the person is there to rape your wife and kids or something, in which case if they refuse to leave or they physically aggress upon you, by all means kill them. If you believe in any way shape or form that #3 is reasonable, then you do not believe in #1 or #2 and your argument is absolutely pathetic. In America I believe you should have the right to defend yourself with a gun if you have a reason to believe the individual has lethal intent. Breaking into your home alone does not demonstrate this, and I believe you have a duty to either hide or order them to leave at gunpoint before you murder them.

There's no such thing as "ethical meat consumption", so that reason's bullshit, you can fund wildlife conservation without slaughtering animals, one doesn't cancel out the other. As for "relationship building", unless you can provide evidence that gun ownership is somehow fucking integral to forming a relationship with your child then I don't see why that would be worth the kids getting shot in schools. If the kid hasn't aggressed upon you physically, and has only stolen property without threatening you in any way, then it isn't self defense. If he robbed you, i.e. held you at gunpoint or knifepoint and threatened to harm you if you didn't give him your cash, you might have a stronger argument, but that's not this hypothetical. In this scenario we're talking about a literal child breaking into your house, who might not even know you're home, and who hasn't demonstrated lethal intent. If, rather…

No, you misunderstand, I'm not talking about arming the civilian populace to supplement the military in a hail Mary tactic to delay an invasion long enough for the money to run out, with the support of almost the entire planet. That's feasible. I'm talking about an armed civilian populace acting alone against the world's most powerful military, with no training, resources or funding, on their home turf. Do you see a difference there?
/r/PussyPassDenied06/04/22 09:14 PM

Wait, I'm confused, are you implying a civilian population with limited or no training armed with a few firearms could successfully topple the world's most powerful military organisation on their home turf, or not... ? I don't think I've ever seen it applied to any woman, ugly or otherwise, but why should it apply to anyone? Dildos aren't part of the lonely woman stereotype, it's typically cats, hence the term "cat lady." Sex toys are normalised among women in the western world today, even encouraged.

World for Libya is an NGO, a charity registered in the UK to help Libyan people. So very much western. Them calling it a war crime is expected, but doesn't mean that the rapists in Libya are charged. Is the NGO prosecuting them? Of course not. They don't have to be the ones prosecuting them to call it a war crime, the ICC is labelling it as such too, and there needs to be evidence before a crime can be prosecuted. This isn't from the perspective of a western journalist, did you even read your own article? They're quoting from Nader Elhamessi from the Libyan aid agency, World for Libya, and the ICC. How is it Islam in practice if it's considered a crime? The rapists are seen as predators, even in the article you provided they say it's a war crime, what are you talking about? Not only that, but in the very same article it says the women are killed out of "love", in an effort to "save" them. It's not perceived as blame, it's perceived as mercy.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/22 05:18 PM
2

Okay, then it's more attributable to the geopolitical conditions in those regions than it is to Islam - I've seen nothing to suggest that Islam says rapists are victims of their own lust and the women should be punished instead.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/22 05:03 PM
3

Do you understand the difference between saying rapists aren't punished in Islam, and rapists aren't punished in Libya? I'm sure these things do happen, but it's more a product of the country's culture than anything else, or the geopolitical circumstances in that specific region at that specific time. Moreover, it doesn't say anything about anyone being a victim of their own lust, it says that rape is a crime and is being used as a weapon of war.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/22 04:56 PM

I'm not sure where you got that from, what I've read of Islam and Islamic culture seems to suggest that proven rapists are not only blamed, but punished. As for women covering up in Islamic culture, again: "Despite many criticisms of the practice of hijab being oppressive and detrimental to women's equality,[106] many Muslim women view the way of dress to be a positive thing. It doesn't make you a terrible person, but for men there's a stigma to using things like fleshlights, you're placed in a category of guys who can't attract women and thus have to rely on a fake pussy. Women absolutely do talk about masturbation with their friends, they compare sex toys, discuss how often they do it, make jokes about their partners' inadequacy compared to the toys they use, etc. Men talk about sex with each other, but it's typically to brag about their sexual conquests, they rarely seek advice about it, or discuss masturbation because they typically don't feel comfortable confiding in other men without fear of being mocked or derided.

I don't find this to be true at all. I don't gauge my self image of being a "man" in line with whether I get validation from females or not. I didn't specify females, I said a societal perception. I actually said the opposite - that the subconscious has no idea at all if mating resulted in procreation. That's literally the entire point I was making! Then what claim are you trying to make? So, if I mean more to her, exactly why rob me of something I want? She's not robbing you of something you want, she's delaying gratification, not denying it. This is the stupidest reasoning I’ve seen on here, everyone knows men want sex. You think the boyfriend material guy is okay with you making him wait but not the hookup guy? But it means you're attractive if a woman wants to be in a relationship with you as well, in fact it means you're more attractive to her, because she wants to be around you even after fucking you. The validation from hook ups comes mostly from appeasing some societal perception of what it means to be a man, that your value or your worth scales with how many women you've slept with. Which isn't true, ultimately, you determine your own value and with self respect comes the respect of others.

The basis I have to question it is that you're making unsupported scientific claims about the human psyche, and you haven't clearly explained what you mean. How does that work? How do you subconsciously think you've procreated when you haven't, and how would you know this?

It depends on what you're talking about, there are some things only you can know (like for instance how painful something is to you personally, since pain is subjective, or how you feel about certain things), but for the most part people can easily know more about your body than you do. Easily. Unless a guy is a health care professional I'm not g…

Not buying that people "can't help" being fat, if that were true then no one would ever lose weight. They can help it, they choose not to. No man ever takes up 2-3 seats with manspreading, this isn't a friggin' Taylor Swift video, they might take up half of one extra seat or something and a lot of it has to do with the fact that men have balls, so it's more comfortable. They'll typically move if you ask them politely, if you do it with an attitude they might not.

Like no, I don't want to hear from strangers online about how my body works when they don't have a body like mine. Do you think it's possible for someone who doesn't have your body to know more about the human anatomy than you do? Joking with friends is fine, everyone can enjoy a good joke. A "joke" that I have heard a lot about is r*pe. No guy is going to joke about dead parents one someone's parents in their group have recently died, but joking about r-pe when people they know have gone throug…

The alternative is unintentional unwanted sexual advances so I think it's worth at least exploring ways to make sure she says yes before you go for it. Not having sex is more morally acceptable than risking doing something one of the parties doesn't want to do. If the alternative is unintentional unwanted sexual advances I'm sure men would be comfortable accepting that if there was a possibility of those advances eventually being wanted. We always engage in a risk of doing something another part…

Just because there are women who say no but don't mean it doesn't mean guys should assume the woman they're with is playing hard to get. Guys should just not go after women who are playing hard to get and saying no, that would resolve this issue. I think you're underestimating how many women do this, they'd be cutting out a large portion of potential suitors from the dating pool, and men already have greater difficulty dating than women do. The majority of men, sure, but we're not talking about the majority of men, we're talking about promiscuous men. I also disagree that any woman can be a slut at any time. If you agree that women tend to have higher standards than men, then the pool of men from which to choose is going to be significantly smaller. If you're a physically unattractive woman, even smaller than that unless you lower your standards. The average woman will have an easier time of it than the average man, perhaps, and th…

Somewhat, I was relatively successful with women in my teens and twenties. But I've also hung around with a lot of other studs, they're not dedicated people who work hard, it's easy for them. What they suck at is holding down long term relationships, they're great at hooking up but that's about it. Because long term relationships require actual effort. More than just going to the gym, blow drying your hair and being yourself.

I disagree that's it's hard, it's harder than being a slut, but let's not pretend studs don't typically have a ton of advantages. They're typically naturally attractive or with great genes that enable them to achieve athletic physiques much easier, they tend to have good social skills because they don't have to worry about being found physically unattractive, therefore some degree of confidence arises organically out of that, especially if they got attention from girls early on in school. It's not a question of whether any women slut shame men, it's a question of whether men historically have been regarded as "players" and women have been regarded as "sluts" for being promiscuous. Truth be told, I had no idea where you were from, but your attitude is so stereotypical of bad european behaviour online that it was a safe and easy guess. If I had to narrow it down youre either German or English, more money on the English than the German. Am I close. Wait, what "bad European behaviour" online? Give me specifics. On the contrary, I've encountered many many Americans who believe everything is about America, I don't consider myself Eurocentric at all because I recognise that not everything is about Europe. In fact, how do you know I'm even from Europe? There was no reason to nationalise the comment, it's a popular show, that's all you need to say.

I specified the reason.
/r/PussyPassDenied14/08/21 10:13 PM

Of course they can, but mentioning Americans specifically carries the implication that it's only popular among Americans. Otherwise, why nationalise the comment at all?
/r/PussyPassDenied14/08/21 10:12 PM

There's a difference between suggesting the show has a majority-American audience (which hasn't even been established, btw), and suggesting it's for Americans, as if it isn't massively popular internationally.

TBH, the term sexual orientation usually seems to refer to choice of behaviour, too, and not something you are. Same goes for choosing to identify as the opposite sex. Still you often see those mentioned among protected groups. Sexual orientation isn't a behaviour, it's a state of mind, it's who you're attracted to - nobody chooses that. Nor do they choose who they feel like, it's just something that's there. The things that are truly beyond one's control are sex, skin colour, birthplace and dis…

It’s incel shit but you should probably google “chad fishing”. Literal incel nonsense. No thank you. Women can be thirsty as fuck and some will absolutely kick a baby and foreswear their family to get with that hot profile pic. They're very liberal now, but that wasn't always the case, and coincidentally these days you don't see as many women slapping men because they're angry. It still happens, but a lot less often from what I've seen. There have been studies that suggest conservatives have less empathy than liberals, and I guess lacking empathy would probably play into the tendency to be violent, so make of that what you will. No specific studies on female-on-male violence among conservatives I'm aware of though.

I'm glad to hear it, but historically (at least if we go by the media which is usually a good measurement of the cultural zeitgeist) that doesn't seem to have been the case. And it makes sense that women would be more likely to do something they don't believe there are consequences for.

Traditions being harmful is subject. I agree, I'm not suggesting all traditions are harmful, I'm saying that the left tends to try to break down traditions they believe are harmful. While I like your point of “traditionalist” simply towing a line and keeping tradition for traditions sake. I disagree that left wing politicians have anymore virtue in undoing traditional things, which we can leave open ended for the duration of our dialogue. I'm not sure about left wing politicians specifically, I …
/r/PussyPassDenied17/04/20 09:45 AM

Many women pick fights with men because they're traditionalists, so they don't expect any consequences. I'm not aware of any tradition about women not hitting men, in fact it's always been shown to be the opposite. If a man offends a woman's honour, she slaps him. If he cheats on her, she slaps him. If he makes a particularly hurtful remark, she slaps him. This has been portrayed in the media for decades, without anyone ever questioning it, because that was tradition.
/r/PussyPassDenied17/04/20 09:31 AM
6

In my opinion it's actually worse on the right, because a lot of them are traditionalists whereas people on the left tend to usually be about breaking down harmful traditions. There are idiots on both sides, but when it comes to simps who moan about hitting a woman in self defense it's undoubtedly more right wingers from what I've seen.
