7	Female applicants to be given preference for firefighting jobs: "preference in selection will be given to female applicants assessed as suitable" Male teacher applicants in elementary education are expected to remain silent. A dept. in my town was taking this same approach. They held the fitness tests, and surprise surprise, no women passed. Instead of hiring men that did pass, they invited only the women back to redo the tests with lighter sled drag weights. Then placed both of them number 1 and 2 in the hiring pools.
