I’m torn too on this. You can’t erase a part of your life though, you need to be able to accept it, come to terms with the end, and move on. I don’t think erasing it is healthy. What happens when you encounter some aspect of your former life that reminds you of those memories? Do you want to be overwhelmed or controlled by those memories? I think there is something to be said to staying away from it for a time but erasing is absolute. You’ve learned lessons from that relationship and you should …

Same here, over 10 years two kids. Takes awhile to adjust but you will too. I’m a year since separating and I’m starting to look forward to life again.

It’s only been about 3 months of this transition of not seeing my kids everyday. I always made it a point to put my kids first because my father wasn’t around as a kid. I think that’s an issue too because I can’t fulfill that psychological need. It’s definitely an adjustment though. Good luck and we are not alone.
