This is the most important thing right now. Separating yourself from lethal means. You want as much distance between yourself and whatever means of suicide you are planning to use.

Your first two paragraphs are crazy man. Speak to a lawyer yourself and go from there. Lawyers aren’t advising women to fabricate domestic violence claims. Now if there’s a history of abuse I could see how you might be nervous.

You gotta be down real bad to put this much time into a book 99.9% of us never heard of.

Hard to believe you can’t find a good one man.

She may be putting on a mark for you. She may be genuinely happy to just be divorced. No offense. But for some people everything can be falling apart but they are just happy to free of their ex-wife/husband.

I hope this isn’t real but if it is, my condolences. Sounds devastating.

Tons of this all around. 95% of men in this sub believe their wives are borderline narcissists who only divorced them due to therapy and TikTok. Everyone find evidence to confirm their biases.

Your ex can and has painted a totally different picture than you. The lawyer doesn’t know what’s really true. But your ex is paying her a lot of money to try to change the custody and that’s her job. Doesn’t make her unethical or a scumbag imo.

She must be taking you to the cleaners.

Late teens means 17-19 to me. Adults or close enough. They should be able to have whatever relationship with you that they want(or don’t) at that age.

This sub will have you jaded if you aren’t careful. Majority of posters are misogynistic. Whether that’s a temporary reaction from their pain or who they are it’s hard to say.

Did she have to get back home and get ready for work herself or was she coming home to lay on the couch all day? If I had to take the kids to school and come home and then get ready for work myself, I wouldn’t have wanted to stop either. If I was off/unemployed, I agree it does seem selfish.

I still care in varying degrees about all my serious ex-gfs, as well as my ex-wife. I don’t know how you spend years of your life with someone and not care at all afterward. I know some people on here have horror stories and this sub has a lot of very bitter people, but I think the average person still cares somewhat for their exes.

Sure there’s a lot of great info with a channel name like that.

Give 988 a call if you haven’t already. I know you said you were a therapist so you know talking helps. 99% of the time. Someone anonymous and unbiased.

Hurting him intentionally? That’s quite a leap. He looked at her phone and then asked her about it.

I think it kinda depends on the circumstances of the divorce but ultimately you should follow your heart. Once she’s gone, she’s gone.

I will go on record as saying that while cheating certainly makes someone a bad spouse or partner. It does not necessarily make someone a bad person or parent. And I say this as someone who has never cheated.

No matter how badly you’ve been burned or hate women, a cheating spouse doesn’t deserve to lose their parental rights. That’s insane.

I think the hatred you see toward women in this sub is pretty strong as well. Men get burned. Blame women. Women get burned. Blame men. Everyone’s a narcissist according to the other ex spouse. Everyone was gaslighted. Different side of the same coin.

Spent less than that in IN with an amicable divorce with kids and a house. It’s entirely possible. You hear the worst on this sub from the most bitter guys.

Kanye is probably about a year out a from a room with padded walls. He’s got other things to worry about.

But it’s always just one side of the story. The other spouse has a completely different version and the truth always lies somewhere in the middle.

As a man who is recently divorced, the bitterness and hatred toward women in this sub is crazy to me. The regular Divorce sub has been much more helpful to me. I kinda just read this one for the train wreck aspect.

No way you should be paying 625/month making that with 50/50. That’s insane.

My ex filed in February.I had one consultation but didn’t retain the attorney. We have been amicable the entire time. Just signed the decree tonight. Totally fair settlement. 50/50 joint physical/legal. She pays me child support since she makes me more. I keep the house until we sell it in a few years then we split the proceeds. So I’m proof you don’t have to get one, but I understand my situation is not the norm.

Kinda hard to hide that if you have a normal job that doesn’t pay cash under the table.

17-year-old son I see on the weekends. Been split from his mom since he was two. We just hang out and play video games together when he comes over for the most part. Or if it’s nice go outside and shoot baskets or play catch. It helps when they share your interests.

I can see getting married a second time. But a 3rd and 4th?!? You must be a glutton for punishment.
