"Turns out she was going to a work party the next day, so she needed to see me because she was horny and missing me, and she was afraid of what she would do on alcohol around her work orbiters (would rather not go if I couldn't see her first)." That's an automatic dump as far as I'm concerned, you could have ended your story right there. My response: "Then don't drink. It's a work party. Furthermore, if you are thinking of cheating on me that easily, then we really don't have a relationship." Ha…

I have 3 small dogs, bout 15lbs apiece. I love them dearly and their companionship means everything to me. But dogs are a commitment. You have to train them using positive reinforcement techniques. Vet bills aren’t cheap (though not 4yrs-of-college expensive). In no way would I start comparing it to having children, but it is a similar paradigm: you have a small being in your care that depends on you for food, warmth, shelter and companionship. Obviously it is different, you can leave the dog at…

My parents are in their mid-70s and as active as any of my 50-something friends.

The upward inflection is annoying. But not nearly as annoying as the constant use of the word “like” throughout someone’s dialog. Absolutely grated on my last nerve. “And I was, like....”. Ugh, just tell me what you did! Or better yet, don’t.

I like seeing new places and visiting new destinations. Or even revisiting places I like and didn't fully explore before. But I hate *travelling*. That is, the physical act of getting there from here. Once I'm there, it's cool. But I'm only good for about a week. Anymore than that and I get antsy for home. Course I live in New Orleans, so.... One thing I have noticed about travellers these days is travelling abroad seems to be the thing. I will say that I was blessed to have seen the better part…

From one quiet guy to another, the best way to overcome that is to put yourself in situations where you have to talk and communicate. Keep making mistakes till you figure it out. I barely said 3 words to anyone in high school. Right out of school I took a job in retail and turned it into a good career. Consistent hard work and drive was important. But communication was vital. I HAVE to talk to customers, employees, my boss...everyday, all day. One key is to over-communicate. If you think you are…

DNC debates were a clown show. They all looked and talked like clowns. If anyone thinks these people are qualified to represent you or any other American, you should seek professional therapy.

The government can only give you stuff after they take that stuff from someone else who created or earned it. The government and politicians create nothing. Nothing is free.

At least he appears to not be a power-hungry pandering psycho. Which immediately separates him from the rest. Unfortunately he is still ultra-liberal, so that's a no-go for me.

I feel so bad for y'all. Canada is too beautiful of a country and the people are too goddamn nice to have to suffer with this nonsense. Trudeau is a 12yr old feminist, not even a woman. Unfortunately we are too busy here in the States keeping the Communists at bay to be of much help. But I'm praying for ya!

Excellent comment. Right now I'd be hard pressed to buy a house. I bought mine in the right place at a great price, right at the end of the housing bust in 2009. The house appreciated in value in 1 year before I even did any work to it, just due to n'hood demand. I'd pay the same in rent for half the space that I have now, as I do my mortgage. And I like having my dogs and no neighbors, and my own guaranteed parking spot. On the other hand, when I was single, I happily rented, had no interest in…

He should have been able to keep it all. But then again, divorce wasn't finalized, prob cause he was trying to avoid alimony? $40m loss, but he still has $40m in his bank account. Invest wisely and live off the interest.

Double-edge safety razor FTW. Better quality razor, better shave, blades are dirt cheap.

I’ve never understood how men fall for #2. People and family you have close relationships with, you just drop cause wifey says so? F that. I made this very clear to every girl I’ve dated in the past, and my wife. Started right when we first started dating and have never wavered, even demonstrating it a couple times. My wife is a part of my life, not over it, she accepts all parts of me or none at all.

Never thought about that but I went to an all-boys Catholic high school too. Always never liked it, as I was rather socially awkward in HS, would’ve been nice to have girls there. Seeing society today, I am now very happy I went there.

3 and 6 are very underrated comments. In the 9 yrs I’ve been on Facebook, not one person I work or worked with can see my profile. Zero. And while none of my work meetings, etc have ever had alcohol, I wouldn’t drink any if it was served. Easy way to screw up.

Wow, seconded on this post. The best thing parents can do for their kids is light a fire under their rears, not give them the world and make the kid work for every nickel he gets, with maybe a rare treat at Christmas or something. The quicker a boy learns the true value of work ethic and a dollar, the better off that boy will be as you cross into manhood. Even better if the parents live this philosophy by working hard themselves and being scrupulous with their own budget.

Unless you live in an overtaxed city like NY, $80k a year is a good salary, esp for a 28yr old. Get out of debt as soon as humanly possible, start taking those payments and "pay yourself" to a savings, IRA or 401k, keep pushing forward. You are on the right path!

If a person claiming rape is pressing charges, then I see no problem with this. I'm not familiar with UK law, but if we are going to talk US law where you are SUPPOSED to be innocent until proven guilty, then this should be standard procedure in the person prosecuting trying to prove my guilt.

You just perfectly explained what’s wrong with our educational system and parents involved in it. School is where material is presented and explained, then tested to see if you learned it. The “learning” part happens at home. Many folks seem to forget that second part and expect the school to work miracles with little Johnny. I had the privilege of 2 hardworking parents that sent me to excellent primary and high schools. But they wouldn’t have meant anything if mom and dad hadn’t sat down with m…

This. Thank you. I don’t think non-pet owners understand the ramifications of things like vet bills and caring for an animal that is actually helpless without its human to care for it. Dogs are wonderful but they are family. Don’t leave family home abandoned while you are out doing fuck-all.

There is no such thing as a long distance relationship. You either live together or you are dating. And she wants a say in family money that isn’t hers? Pump one more time and dump. Should never have gotten to this point. First time this came up, dude should have said “it’s their money, not mine and certainly not yours. Drop it.”

You don’t let people physically attack or harm you. Whether or not they have a vag is irrelevant.
