What is controversial about party-girls being...well...party-girls? Nothing, except they hide the truth about their past behavior when they get older and want to settle down with a man who is husband material.

In which way? That's interesting. That they chase after players/assholes/alcoholics/druggies when they are young. Look at what he posts on Insta (he comes across as a huge jerk) and yet he still has beautiful young women begging for his attention.

The American Meme. It follows the lives of social media influencers, and one of them is Kirill from Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/slutwhisperer Basically, he is a man in his 30's who lives a life where he gets paid to travel and party in clubs. His shtick is that he does over the top things like dousing women champagne, dresses in ridiculous costumes, and is politically incorrect. His success validates some of the stereotypes about party girls that are discussed on PPD. It was interesting…

Within the next five to ten years, there'll be a TV show, movie, or play (maybe it'll manifest itself as all three) that features incels as the main characters. The movie will be honest in their depiction (they'll be disgusting, angry slobs) but it'll be intelligent and sympathetic to them as well, showing their human sides and explaining a bit as to why they've ended up this way. I actually agree with this. I think it will be similar to "13 Reasons Why", where there is was a supporting characte…

Well, like doesn't this already happen like with guy/bro codes and rules and maning up and acting like a man and taking it like a man etc? Yes, but I was asking what would happen if you could hypothetically get all the men in an entire country to agree to the same bro code.

MGTOW involves not working? I don't think I've ever seen anyone claim that It involves not working to your potential. Like why climb the corporate ladder and make money when you can have a lower stress lower paying job. If you don't need the extra money, and the prestige won't help attract women there isn't an incentive to put nearly as much effort into your job. The only reason a MGTOW needs to pursue a harder job is because he personally feels like it, but many choose a lower stress route once…

Why in the world would US culture/the US government care about individual men getting laid? Because those men can cause socioeconomic instability if the group is large enough. Like if they all go MGTOW and stop working hard that would probably create societal problems (shrinking population, lower tax collections) that the government would want to fix.

I mean what is it that’s being done rude? To give an example they might get a polite rejection if they ask a women out, but then that women turns around and tells her friends something like, "can you believe that loser thought I would go on a date with him".
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/18 03:38 PM
2

How specifically do women "treat incels like garbage"? By what behavior other than ignoring them? By calling them losers behind their backs. For instance if they get asked out by one of them they will politely decline to their face but then they will tell their friends can you believe this guy really thought he was worthy of dating me. Basically, they treat them like second class citizens even though they use polite language to do so.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/18 03:31 PM
3

It wasn't. You asked how women should treat men, so the response you quoted was referring to society, not to your OP. You are correctly representing reality in your OP claim 1. Society does things like fat acceptance and telling low value men to be themselves. That is what I was referring to by society should be more realistic about messaging.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/18 03:02 AM
1

In your opinion, how should women treat men they are not attracted to? How should men treat women they are not attracted to? I was making the point that society should talk about how we treat each other in a more realistic way. If you're a low value man most women will ignore you and treat you like you have no value. Men do the same thing to physically unattractive women. We shouldn't use language that pretends otherwise. In an ideal world people would look beyond SMV and treat people with more …

Wait your job analogy doesn’t make sense. Hiring an employee is putting a significant investment in them. What are you expecting women to do that is comparable, for incels? I'm not suggesting they do anything. I was pointing out how the OP statement "Unattractive men don’t get hate" is smuggling in an assumption that women are therefore treating these men in a "good way". The same way saying someone doesn't use racial slurs is smuggling in an assumption that they aren't racist. However, when you…

Not wanting to date someone isn’t treating them like garbage. They treat them like they are not useful, like their life doesn't matter, they ignore them. That is what you do with garbage. I probably should not have use that word because the idiom also has a slightly different meaning, but I stand behind the general point as I clarified it to mean in this post.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/18 02:04 AM

Claim #1: look at how women react to incels! This is how women treat unattractive men! Correction: Women are reacting to men who either promote (or associate with people that promote) some pretty hateful things. Unattractive men don’t get hate, they get ignored. Most unattractive men aren’t yelling about farms of women for their use for women to react to. This is not how women and unattractive men interact. Women treat incels like garbage. I agree with your semantics that they aren't outright me…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/18 01:25 AM

I wish women knew more about the challenges men face if they have poor social skills. If you have poor social skills it creates a loop that is hard to escape - you need to practice social skills to get better, but most women (and many men) don't want to hang out with or help these men. Like everyone just assumes they will figure it out on their own, or someone else will help them. A severe lack of social skills effectively locks many men out of the SMP.

Hahahahahahahaha. I'm sorry, are we supposed to feel bad for people getting audited to make sure they are paying their taxes? Because I don't. Saying you thought you didn't have to pay taxes on it doesn't make you sound innocent, it just makes you sound dumb. Ignorance of the law does not prevent you from being punished by the law. If you drive 100 mph and get pulled over saying, "I had no idea the speed limit was 55 mph" is not going to get you out of punishment.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/18 01:17 AM

However if you tax something you are making a pretty big case for legalising it That is not correct, the tax law is such that most income you make (even illegally) is taxable. For instance, Al Capone was arrested on tax evasion. If you make money selling illegal drugs you are also committing tax evasion if you don't report that income.

Actually I was about to remove OPs because it seemed a bit lower quality than yours. But if your willing to remove yours and maybe repost it tomorrow or the next day I would appreciate it. I deleted mine. I won't repost it, I copied the points I wanted to make into my response to this OP.

Lol, we both posted the same thing minutes apart. Should I delete my post? My thoughts were: It is unlikely these men could know if someone is reporting their income appropriately or not. The men are correct in principle that money received from sex work should be taxed and that there is nothing wrong with reporting tax evaders to the IRS (if you have actual proof of tax evasion). If women report their income correctly they have nothing to fear, the article makes it seem like the accused can get…

And so women's reaction is to shun the betas and have more casual relationships. To clarify my OP point (the internet is causing women to be more cynical about dating/relationships) was explaining the cause of an observation made in the article, "quite a few people told me that they were taking a break from sex and dating".
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/18 11:31 PM

When was it ever not a common complaint? It was less of a complaint when women made men wait longer (several dates, weeks, etc.) for sex. This is because the longer dating process somewhat filters out fuckbois. That said I agree with your point that it was always an issue to some degree, the point I was making is that anecdotally it seems to be even more common today. When women adopt a strategy of "sleep with high SMV men on the first date and hope for the best", the obvious outcome is the fuck…

Is that really more prevalent? Yes, they are called fuckbois now. It seems to be a very common complaint among women these days, there are all kinds of memes and anecdotes about the dangers of fuckbois.

My theories on why sex is declining: The availability of high quality distractions such as porn and video games The internet is debunking true love mysticism. Not just TRP but all kinds of anecdotes about relationships gone awry (frivorces, the Aziz story, etc.). It also causes women to be more cynical because the "he will say anything to get in your pants" message is a lot more prevalent. Women are increasing their standards of who they hook up with due to technology giving them access to a lar…

Speak in examples of masculine famous people. Say masculine celebrity X seems to be doing pretty well, why do you think that is? Help them connect the dots that the masculinity helped with his success. This way you won't induce an ego reaction where they filter out what you are saying.

We should listen to what works in real life, Not what anyone says. who cares what anyone says when there actions contradict there words. Yep, people say some things solely as a means to avoid conflict, people please, increase their reputation, etc. The words don't reflect reality. Look at this way: corporations throw around all kinds of positive sounding jargon but at the end of the day they are usually just acting in their own profit-maximizing self interest.

now it's all about private groups and hidden event pages and group messages that are only visible to people who are invited to be part of them. so people who are out of the loop socially don't see any of that hidden private activity and Facebook and other social media seems dead to them. but in reality, it's just as active and popular as ever. Right, but you mentioned anger and misogyny. Misogyny is the hatred of women. Did you hate women? I wouldn't say that I ever hated women. It was more like I felt that their behavior was wrong (choosing jerks over NiceGuys) and I wanted them to be punished for it so they would learn their lesson and behave better in the future. Like how if a thief stole something I would want him to be punished by the law but I wouldn't hate him, I would just want him to learn a lesson and not do it again. In the…

We do not have a doctor shortage. I'm not an expert on the subject but I've read that an aging population, increased lifespans, and Dr. retirements are contributing to a Dr. shortage. As you mention this is more of a problem in non-urban settings but it can impact certain specialists in urban settings too. There is also another argument to made about the Dr. shortage. If everyone got medical care at the same rate as people with good insurance then the Dr. shortage would be much larger. Some peop…

Thanks for the reply! I've been in situations where I've met women and trading Insta would have been the lowest friction way to keep in touch. Like they have all this attention on Insta, I'm not going to try to get a phone number and try to out value the Insta guys with text message. /r/seduction07/10/18 09:57 PM

Thanks! I know your advice sounds super obvious but I hadn't really considered doing that. I have way to much of a FB mentality: Never add randos, like if you haven't met them in person it would just be weird to try to friend them. By having interesting content on Insta I guess it would make sense that people would just want to follow you based on the merits of the content alone.
/r/seduction07/10/18 08:04 PM

Thanks for your input! I actually think I would enjoy Insta, I enjoy creating interesting content as a way to exercise my mind. I'm mostly being self-conscious and worrying that even though I'll have decent content I'll have a hard time gaining more than a handful of followers.

You can't obtain objective proof based off of a party's character or past behavior. Dude, listen, the court of law isn't about vengeance for the person who was hurt, it's about determining if a person did something and if they should be punished. In criminal court, prosecution is required to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. Beyond. Reasonable. Doubt. Do you know what that means? It is absolutely NOT reasonable to assume that a man committed rape because he said he had a "couple drinks" when he i…

Why is it okay for you to risk causing damage to innocent men, but not okay with you to refuse vengeance for a woman who is unable to produce objective evidence against the person she accuses to have already hurt her? That is not my position at all. I'm saying we should do everything in our power to get to the objective truth. When no proof exists we should factor in both party's character and past behavior. It works both ways. If a women is caught lying about multiple small details and has a pr…

In what other crime does it boil down to "past behaviors"? In criminal court, a lawyer has to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt under the presumption of innocence. Why do you think that this should be any different? How would you feel if the cops arrested you for robbing a bank that you didn't rob, then the jury gave you the full punishment because there was evidence that you stole a piece of gum from a grocery store when you were 14? I'm saying that is the unfortunate reality of how the system w…

In what universe is approaching tonnes of women fun? Especially if you don't like them and only want them for sex. Sure if you like them in other ways too then yes it's not bad at all. Unless the woman you're talking to you actually like talking to why not just skip that shit? I see advice sometimes on redpill where they say you should talk to everyone and have tonnes of small-talk with every woman or man around . Two things wrong with that. If you have to put all this hard work in to just achieve the sex life the average guy gets anyway by default. Why not just bang hookers? Because you derive self-satisfaction from successfully completing something that is hard. Look at people that assemble model cars, like they could just buy the completed model instead of assembling it themselves. They don't do that because they enjoy the process of actually doing the work. If you learn to enjoy the process instead of the end result it no longer…

the accusation of rape is so powerful that it has incentivized people to use it falsely for personal gain. Normal people don't have this incentive though. You're wasting your time (which you could use to make actual personal gains) doing something which you won't receive any money for. I get that occasionally someone has some weird justification for wanting to hurt someone else but it just seems so far outside the realm of normal behavior that I don't think very many people would think to do it.…

your proposed solution would just make the problem worse. here is how it would work in real life: Yes, those are the problems I was alluding to when I said that it wasn't a practical solution. The point was it is theoretically possible for a system to exist that resulted in a more accurate evaluation of rape accusations (although it requires changing culturally acceptable behavior). Look at online dating at one point that was socially unacceptable among normal people but it no longer is. It is p…

Any man a woman had to help create is a loser by definition. Not necessarily, the man could have gone from average SMV to high SMV all on his own, but she just helped him get there faster. Basically, the strategy is to look for the Bill Gates of the world and lock them down when they are young and at a low SMV. They are going to become a great marriage partner in the future so you might as well speed up the process by helping them become a more attractive partner to you.

what's the most prudent way for female mating strategy (romantic/sexual) to accommodate for male disenfranchisement if at all. If a women wants to get married to a decent guy and have the highest odds of avoiding players but still end up with a sold guy here is the strategy: Instead of dating players date men who are somewhat shy/nerdy today (like meet guys IRL in places where these men congregate) but have great potential to become really successful in the future. I’m not even sure everyone agrees rapists should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I guess a better way to phrase is it: Rapists should face some form of punishment for their crime. People can disagree on what exactly the punishment is.

I contest your assertion that most rape claims are true. I mean I guess that's a fair point since we'll never have data that is 100% accurate. However, when you logically think about the effort required to make a false claim vs the payoff it just doesn't seem like something most people would do. I can see why people do it in certain cases (as I outlined in OP) but I just don't think that a majority of people are like that. That creates an environment where cops can't go to victims to help them solve crimes. Which is, you know, how cops usually solve crimes. Joe being interviewed and investigated will be a pain in the ass and embarrassing, but unless the cops fuck up, he won't suffer any consequences beyond losing a some hours to aiding an investigation. If anyone is responsible for false convictions, it's the law. I lost 2 days off work and was majorly inconvenienced because I happened to be an eyewitness to a cri…

the amount of false accusatiosn is miniscule The impact a false accusation on an individual person is huge. There are obscure diseases that impact less than 1 in 1 million people but society still tries to solve them. You can't just accept false accusations as part of the system no matter how miniscule. If the system shrugs off false accusations then there is a moral hazard for someone dishonest to take advantage of the system.

If someone insists they were attacked by Joe, but it turns out they were actually attacked by Jim, punishing the victim for being wrong is not appropriate. But in that case Joe is out time and money through no fault of his own. I think it is fair that the victim should compensate Joe for putting him through that. Technically, not a "punishment" but more of a compensation to restore him to his original position. Like a car accident - you didn't intend to rear end someone, but you still have to pa…

I would suspect this has to do with the cultural attitude towards sexual assault, and how both the victims and the perpetrators are perceived. Yes, I think it ultimately comes down to cultural attitude. So to kind of restate the question in those terms: What can a society do to encourage a cultural attitude of rape accusations are a very serious and important issue but they need to be critically examined before punishing someone for something they may not have actually done?

When you say "false rape accusation", do you mean a woman knowingly going to the police and filing a factually false complaint to have criminal rape charges investigated, or some woman posting "omg Johnny totes raped me last night!" I'm not sure what you're getting at now. You just said that desperate guys with nothing to lose would use this stuff, and then gave a list of reasons why they wouldn't. There is a very small percentage of men who reach a point where they truly believe they have no hope. At the point they become willing to try anything because they are so frustrated. Nootropics seem like snake oil to me. The level of evidence we have for most of this stuff just isn't there, and my imprerssion is (like vitamins before it) the experimentation going on will be useless or harmful. Test and steroids are readily available and cheap if you're willing to DIY it. Why aren't these desperate guys doing that? They don't think the benefits outweigh the effort and potential side effects. It is a hassle and there is no guarantee that they would personally see rewards. A lot of it is just anecdotal so they would have to research the benefits and also believe the anecdotes. How can someone honestly know their true, current SMV? Similar to the way you can know your value in the economic market place. Always apply to better jobs and see who hires you. You have to do things where you put people in a position to accept/reject your dating/sexual proposals and then analyze the feedback you get. Like the economic market place, value is subjective. No way. You mean that a one-sentence "But I don't blame them, it's just in their nature, bro" disclaimer doesn't automatically make a post non-judgmental? The Red Pill is men's sexual strategy that describes what they observe to be reality. I view them as a scientist conducting a study. Say a scientist were to conduct a study and find Group X is more likely to cheat in a relationship under circumstance Y. Some people might moralize that Group X are bad people. However, at its core RP is observat…

Both your examples come from envy. The point is you should or shouldn't do X because it will give you give the optimal result. Not you should or shouldn't do X because of envy. To put it another way you shouldn't steal because you could get arrested. It is also potentially immoral to steal, but I'm giving you a pragmatic reason not to steal regardless of your moral opinion of it.

I’m sure “men are dangerous” would go over well to amongst your group (hint: it would not) Men are dangerous and RP even says so in the parts about how to deal with angry men you might encounter while out meeting women. If RP says be cautious in situation X because reason Y someone could interpret that as women are dangerous but that isn't the actual RP message.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/18 03:24 AM

Ha. RP moralizes a shit ton. About women. The amoral shit is lip service because they don’t want to promote to moralizing of men. IMO when people say RP is moralizing they are misinterpreting the message. Example: RP says low n-count women make better LTRs. That is a pragmatic statement, not a moral position. It would be like an employer saying I'm going to only hire someone with a college degree. The employer isn't saying there is anything wrong with not having a college degree or the businesse…

Can you be more specific regarding the first and third? Look at it this way, most people know what they need to do to achieve a goal, but they make excuses to not do that thing. Like if your job sucks you need to work on applying to new jobs and building up skills/knowledge for the job you really want. The same thing applies to dating, if you're not happy with your situation do things to improve it. The core of PUA is not complicated and most people recognize what they need to do but rationalize…

Stop making excuses, take action on the things you know you should be doing. Read Models by Mark Manson (assuming you have no knowledge of PUA). Honestly assess the areas you struggle with and make relevant efforts to improve at them.

RP is amoral, it doesn't shame anything. It observes things that are relevant to the male dating strategy and explains how to use that information advantageously. The cat trope is meant as a descriptor, not as a moral judgement. Men are told to take action (which would mean not using dogs and sex dolls as a distraction from meeting women, but again that it is not a moral judgment, it is a pragmatic statement).

That chart shows almost the exact same thing. Less than 2% post age 33 or so. A cumulative chart would be even clearer. You are not interpreting it correctly. It is saying the percentage of men getting married (first marriage) at each specific age is something like: age 34: ~2% age 35: ~2% age 36: ~2% age 37: ~2% age 38: ~2% age 39: ~1% age 40 ~1% ….. age 60: ~.1% You have to add up all of the data points of 34+ to get the amount past 33, it comes up to over 10%.

Assuming the standard deviation is about correct in the source I cited: 99.7% of men are married between age 22.9 and 33.8 99.7% of women are married between age 20.3 and 31.3 The source is wrong then because that is just not reality. I like how you missed the important part: that you meet your spouse years before you marry them (there is a courting / dating period). I understand your point, and I agree that it the courtship process takes time. I'm just disagreeing with the 99.7% number you reached. Think of the percentage of men that get married past say like 34, it is probably at least 10%. Go to an affordable college. I mostly agree with the overall post but I want to expand on this point specifically. You need to choose an affordable college that also has a good social environment (from a social life perspective: a state school where you live on campus is a way better choice than a community college where most people commute). College is the one time where you can be surrounded by tons of attractive, single people in your demographic and you really need to capitalize on that inst…

Therefore ~99.7% of men meet their spouses between the ages of 18.9 and 29.7 years of age. And 99.7% of women meet their spouses between the ages of 16.4 and 27.2 years of age. There is no way that is correct, something is off in your logic. If the median age of marriage is Male = 28.3 that means 50% are married after that, so there are a significant portion of men married in their 30s and beyond. I'm not buying that almost every single one of them is marrying someone they met before they turned…

Why do I say that? Because you demonstrate that you judge anyone and everyone who may do something you yourself would not do. Its probably the most pathetic of all places to be, making judgements based on what is popular at the time. Throughout history society tries to cherry-pick this type of relationship is ok and this other type isn't ok. Then in the future attitudes change and they realize w…

It's perfectly fine to want to live a lower MC lifestyle. However your point rests on the presumption that women your own age won't want that (ie that as women age they will want a higher MC lifestyle and not settle for less), which means you are pursuing younger women with the knowledge that they only settle for your type of lifestyle due to age/naivety, and that as they mature and grow older they will want something else. Logical reasons to NOT date a younger woman: All fair points. The man has to weigh those reasons against the benefits. Most 20 year old women are not really adults yet. Society treats them adults in almost all other respects (able to live on their own, able to have any job, able to make legal agreements, punished in adult court for crimes). If society agreed a higher age than 18 was adult then I would amend my criteria to she must be that age before a relationship with an older man would be valid.

Your theory is predicated on the idea that older men want LTRs. Many of them are perfectly happy to pump and dump younger women even unto the end of time. The woman still has to filter for the LTR seeking men specifically. I'm making a general statement that as men age the percentage that wants LTRs goes up. Most men eventually come to appreciate the benefits of LTRs as they age.

You don't have to disapprove of the relationship to not want an 18 year old at your grown up dinner party. I feel like we've ventured too far into hyperbole territory. Most 40 year olds that want to date younger aren't going to date an 18 year old. The consequences you mentioned are just not worth the benefit. Age-gap relationships used to be far more acceptable (although they were always a minority). This cultural shift is recent, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it shifted again in my lifetime. That's my theory too. If a college woman only dates college men she artificially reduces the supply of men and it increases the SMP leverage of the college guys. Even if your friends are receptive to the general idea of the age gap and look at your particular age gap relationship and decide you're not a creepy manipulative jerk, an 18 year old just isn't the same sort of fun as other 40 year olds are. 18 year olds are pretty much kids who socialize best with other kids. You cannot make a younger woman who has zero interest in older men change her mind unless you're bringing some serious money or status to the stable. How about being pressured to drop out of high school to take care of a sick parent? That would be acceptable if she is over 18. It is really a judgment call given your particular society. The third one is obviously fucking stupid because ridiculously flawed people get into lasting relationships all the time. It is like when a person with a job says the homeless deserve their fate because they don't work hard. In the employed person's mind they need to justify that the other person has some type of character flaw, because if bad outcomes aren't determined by character flaws then there is the possibility that they could suffer the same fate.

This study seems to provide a lot of evidence for TRP claims. I'm quoting the study: (http://advances.sciencemag.org/content/4/8/eaap9815): The number of initial messages a user receives....is roughly consistent across cities, and although women receive more messages than men overall, the distributions for both display a classic “long-tailed” form—most people receive a handful of messages at most, but a small fraction of the population receive far more In other words: the 80/20 concept from TRP.…

I fail to understand why having a bunch of animals is a problem as long as you are not a weird hoarder person and they are properly cared for. It is not a problem. I was just interested in seeing if there were connections between SMP problems and any behavior (good, bad, or neutral). Kind of like how if a person buys product X at a store they are more likely to buy product Y too.

You're implicitly discarding my proposition that women want "naturals" rather than people who had to make themselves hot. If they want the hottest genetics then it is naturals they would flock to. Ergo, if the program you proposed was a thing, they'd have an incentive to start digging through records. Or maybe demanding teenage-photos on dating profiles. Yes, a natural might be preferable but I think you're thinking about this too theoretically, it is not how normal people behave. Look you can f…

Actually, your proposal in the OP would function better as a Non-profit Private Organization. That is a really good point, now that I think about it that would probably be a better approach. That way it could start small and the impacts could be measured before scaling it to a wider audience. It's more of a match making program that the government runs. The first problem with that approach is that arranging dates fails to correct the underlying problem for why a person can't get dates. Without f…

Okay, do you think the government would provide mental care as well? Yes, most evidence seems to indicate that the universal coverage approach provides the better outcomes at a lower cost than the current system in the US. I don't think it's the government's job to do something like this for it's citizens. It's not necessarily the function of the government to assist it's citizens in order for them to live productive lives. Aside from that, a government program like this would cost a lot of money. Some of the cost would be made up by the people in the program becoming more happy and productive members of society (thus paying higher taxes). Furthermore, if some of those people would have become addicts without SMP …

Do you know why there is public education at all? It is because people who have basic math and know how to read are way more productive, have netter wages and thus, pay more taxes. Yes, government programs are assumed to have a benefit greater than the cost. I'm saying that the benefit of helping people with thier SMP problems exceeds the cost. most of society's problems are caused by rewarding the weak and unsuccessful at the expense of the strong and successful. it feels good to take care of the weak, but it incentivizes and encourages further weakness. What guarantees people will use the correct one in those tax paid courses? Most of those courses are lackluster to say the least and are always pushing some political agenda. Government programs are very well known for inefficiency. An ineffecient solution is better than no solution. For instance you could say public roads should never be built because the government is inefficient, but then we just wouldn't have roads because no individual has the incentive to fix the no public roads problems. I think these concepts are very interrelated. When you live in a small group you have more of a vested interested in helping your community (a subset of society) succeed. Competition in any marketplace will always have disadvantages to those that fail to succeed. The net benefit, however, is that society as a whole is progressed further by the competition. Some wives don’t want their husbands to improve too much because then those men will become more attractive to other woman and the wife is afraid of the competition. If a man improves too much he might just start getting offers from younger women and leave her. TRP is a toolbox, it tries to tell you the optimal way to achieve various outcomes in the SMP. If you want to “spin plates” it tells you how, but it also tells you how to optimize the chances of a successful LTR. It is always up to the man to decide what they truly want from the SMP. In general if she doesn't put out by the third date it means she isn't very interested in you or she is only interested in you for the BB/provider role. It is going to be nearly impossible to get her to want you for the AF/lover role. Bottom line: If she is making you wait longer than she made other guys wait then you are not her top choice. There are women who will put out sooner so you shouldn…

although why they want to be with women who act like that is still a mystery. Because they can't attract the kind of women that appreciates them for who they are. So the logic is that they would rather have a "flawed" woman than no woman at all. TRP does push pretty hard that all woman are "flawed", so they may also decide that there isn't a better option anyway.

Those are fair points. I was just acknowledging the points about male privilege that I thought were reasonable. It is mostly irrelevant who had more privilege historically because it isn’t fair to punish an unrelated party for something an entirely different person did in an entirely different time. We should focus on making a fair and equitable world today but we shouldn’t use historical privilege as a justification to make policy. The justification for policy should be that this policy will ma…

you still have a lot more women with privilege over a lot more men, despite having a few men with way more privilege than anyone else. That was exactly the point I was trying to make. Society views privilege as "net privilege", men (as an entire group) have something that women don't and that is all that matters. They don't consider that the average man receives no benefit from many of the privileges. It is usually framed as every man benefits from privilege just because he is a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/18 12:23 AM

Imagine 100 men with the following net worth: 1 man has 100M, the rest have an average of 10k each. Then imagine 100 women with the following net worth: 1 woman has 1M, the rest have an average of 15k each. Men in total have a higher net worth than women. However, the average man has less net worth than the average woman. Because the most net worth (analogous to the benefits of privilege) benefit a man the entire net worth is considered male privilege. The point is when women talk about privileg…

Also remember that the 'average' person isn't really young, and even young 'average' people are going to get older. This is especially true in nerd culture where women th…

Women were not allowed to vote or have jobs at many points in history. It is obvious men had more privilege then. It is also obvious that today's top males have received a lot of benefits from privilege. What I wanted to talk about is if the average man still has more privilege than the average women in light of recent societal changes.

Your claims about videogames, male validation, and more are full of your assumptions on what it's like to be an AVERAGE woman. Where did you get that random number, 100k? Are you simply being hyperbolic? You seem to switch back and forth between literal and exaggerated claims, none of which are universally true or even true for most women. The videogames example is observational. Men with nerdy hobbies put the average women on a much higher pedestal than most of society. It is commonly accepted …

The top 1% of males have way more privilege than anyone else in society. They can set laws and have enormous amounts of wealth that they can use to influence a number of outcomes. They use to their privilege to benefits themselves, not to benefit females, and not to benefit the 99% males. The average male no longer sees many benefits from his privilege. That has to be the most incredibly bizarre way of looking at the world I have ever heard of. So, even though 99% of men have less privilege, that the top 1% have a lot more means that, overall, men, as a group, have more privilege? Are you somehow under the impression that the top 1% has the interests of the other 99% of men at heart? why do you care what feminists say? I care because they are teaching women to view men as terrible people that do nothing but ruin society. While there are bad men out there I feel the way they frame privilege leads them to punish people who have done nothing wrong. The people that go to college are the ones who will help develop the policies and laws of the future. It will impact society negatively if they use that view of men to design policy.

No I didn't. It is possible for men to have more privilege in total but for the average man to less privilege than the average woman. Having looks that can be used for personal monetary gain is a privilege available to the average woman. Men also have privileges. A privilege is an advantage available only to a particular person or group of people. Since male privilege is about advantages you get for being born a male I would think the advantages you get from being born female would also be considered privileges.

I feel like the concept of male privilege is often used to invalidate legitimate concerns that men express in the mainstream. The way the privilege argument is used prevents certain SMP issues from being addressed constructively by the mainstream. There's enough space for allow masculine traits to flourish. They're called the Army The army creates more problem for men than it solves. It creates mentally and physically wounded people who have a hard time reintegrating in normal society due to issues such as PTSD. What needs to happen is allowing space for masculine traits to flourish Yes, totally agree. Men need places where it is acceptable to be masculine. However, I think the solution is much more nuanced than masculinity is good 100% of the time. It is blazingly obvious to an outside observer, but not necessarily to the person facing the problem. Sometimes people just need a small push or reinforcement in an area they struggle with. So the question is how do you help someone who does not accept help? Even a professional cannot do so. That's where the tricky bit comes in. Sorry, my comment was worded like everything in dating is a methodical calculation, but I didn’t mean it that way. So, women that want to marry a high value man have a better chance of achieving that if they adopt a lower N count strategy (sex in LTRs only, no ONS/FWB). It is not so much that I care what other people think. I care that the current SMP frustrates many people of both genders. I want to help people understand the realities of the SMP so they don’t set themselves up to fail based on a misunderstanding of how it works. Just because something doesn’t impact me doesn’t mean I’m not concerned about the well-being of others. I don’t personally do illegal drugs but I think society should try to mitigate the damage they cause to other individuals.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/18 04:11 AM

Yes, that is actually a better example. You captured the crux of my argument that bad advice sets people down a path that will most likely fail. Only after they fail do they realize the mistake and it is often too late to fully correct it by then.

Correct, but expected value illustrates the optimal course of action. In a situation without a guaranteed outcome you can evaluate your options based on the weighted average value of the possible outcomes. The correct action is the one that will most likely achieve the outcome you want. Just because chance/luck results in you not getting the desired result doesn’t mean you took the wrong action. It is better to have a plan than it is to act haphazardly and hope for the best.

Sure, the entire series of events is more than “small”, but the entire chain can be started by a tiny detail. Examples: A hashtag that goes viral started with a single post. A new year’s resolution leads someone to sign up for the gym, ultimately leading to an entirely different body. People like to drink and do drugs because of the positive feelings it generates. However, as a society we warn them of the negative effects of overuse. If they choose to use alcohol or drugs they know the potential consequences of that choice before they make it. Thanks. I was making an indirect point that advice and events in a young women’s life can have an influence on how her life turns out. The point was that a small event at a young age started her down a path that ultimately led to the high N count. Society feeds young women messages that they can do whatever they want with basically no consequence. The toolbox analogy is a great way to summarize the grey area concept you mention. tRP information is a set of tools and it is up to the user to determine which tool (advice) to use in each situation. Altruism - the belief of disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others. People with that belief should want to create a better model because it would help solve a societal problem.
