I swear, it's like people are living in different realities.

I can’t find actual reliable stats on it, that was among men who are already interested in cosmetic products, but that’s still a big portion of men, and there is more makeup made for men these days. Destigmatizing these things for men is good imo and isn’t inherently effeminate.

Makeup among men is still very much stigmatized because like you say, it is widely regarded as purely feminine, but that doesn’t mean it can’t work in enhancing appearance. Yet it has gotten more popular for men, and looking it up, it’s at around 15% and I’m sure that will rise overtime.

It's not effeminate when you use it to enhance your masculine appearance. The makeup used here enhances your skin and bone structure perception.

The equivalent of makeup for men would just be men actually wearing makeup. It may sound insane, but with a skin care routine and some concealer for a more even looking face, perhaps add some eye brow thickener, and men can increase attractiveness without sacrificing their masculinity. Combine that with grooming (men having facial hair as an option for appearance), hairstyles, dental, and the Red Pill idolization of gym gains, men have the ability to rise in attraction as well.

As discussed here already, putting it all down to "women's gendered expectations of male gender conformity" ignores that men are a crucial part of this very problem. The manosphere continually gatekeeps masculinity as an ideal you must maintain and young men eat it up. Anything less is shameful and weak.

However, makeup & aesthetical techniques are capable of taking an objective 5, and turning her into an objective 7. Because of this, there is a huge artificial disparity between men and women in terms of facial appearance. It's not like men can't make changes in their appearance to be more attractive, ever heard of looksmaxxing? While makeup isn't normalized for men, there have been claims about the use of eyebrow thickener in being more attractive to women. I have also heard about "mewing" your…

I just want to point out that the title seems more like a concept Red Pill men would ascribe to with men being the providers after reaching their prime age 30+ and settling for a younger woman who is a very attractive sexually inexperienced trophy wife; while feminism advocates for more women in careers which places greater emphasis on women providing value. Even from a Tradwife perspective however, the women is still valued for what they provide with childrearing and housekeeping, not to mentio…

What happened to the Red Pill philosophy that women are in their prime at their early 20s while men reach their prime past 30?

This is a good question, I hope we get detailed explanations.

Is the red pill a philosophy meant for all men or is it more of a guide for fuckboys to be better at their game? If I don't want to flirt and get casual sex from women, then it's unclear what red pill has to say about me. It seems that I'm either a complete loser, lying to myself, or just not part of the audience that it caters to. If red pill is more about pick up artistry as a hobby, I don't have much of an issue with it provided that it's consensual. Perhaps some of what red pillers teach is …

Sex is very important to so much of our society (reproduction aside) as it's a basic and fundamental expression of intimacy so I would expect it to be heavily moralized. While you certainly can look at things from a nihilistic amoral perspective and just say "sex is sex, who cares who's having it", that line of thinking isn't how society functions as a whole.

I've met a few women irl who are confused when I say I don't want a slut for a wife. People may take issue with the derogatory nature of saying that rather than the preferences.

Do you think what you see on social media represents much of the real world? If you go looking for it, you can find it online, so it's very easy for our cognitive biases to distort how we see the online space and the world in general. That's something we should all be considering when making such claims.

Well if this is a CMV, I would push back by asking, do you think what you read from people you argue with on Reddit represent much of the real world? Are people you meet or already know getting upset when you mention your preferences in women? What about your guy friends? If you are on a site that has many dedicated communities of different people, eventually you will come across someone who gets ass-mad about something, it's just going to happen, especially when you get in heated arguments. Why…

I don't believe in attractiveness, it's an illusion in our ape brains.

I think some people worry that by acknowledging there are some things outside of our control that we cede too much ground to incels and victim mentality and have to accept that they are right to "drown in their victimhood" so-to-speak, but I don't think that needs to be the case. Start small, clean yourself up, take care of yourself, if you can meet some very simple baseline requirements like putting in effort and showing up on time (punctual), you are can easily be ahead of a LOT of people out …
