I have been much more intentional on this with my 2.5 year old. I found he loves to role play and “fix things”. This gives me an opportunity to show him new and exciting things and he feels empowered that he is “helping”. We fixed toilet paper roll holders all the way to drilling in shelves. I’m convinced this creates an extremely great bond between father and son. Not only shows him real masculinity. disclaimer: avoid the urge to try and do it quickly and urgently. Let him learn and try to do i…

Completely agree with this and that is why I am here. I'm done trying to dip in and out when my life sucks. I will be intentional and not slacking any longer. This is the issue, I have been a lurker and never dove "all-in". Basically RP Lite which absolutely does not work. I know my faults and that is why I posted. I could have easily just decided not to. I know this is the only path forward for a fulfilled life.

OYS #3 7/6/2021 Background / Stats: 32 years old, 6’2”, 220, 16% BF. Married 7 years, 2.5 year old son. Discovered RP July of 2019. LIFTS: 3x per week HIT, 2x per week 2 mile run, BP 315, SQ 400 Bible Study: Still do my best to have quiet time in the morning with devotion, etc.. It has been very bland as of late and I need to get back to really focusing on this. I do however listen to podcasts and/or RP Christian Youtube while lifting in the morning. Assurance of Salvation: 10 Scripture Memory: …

This is perfect timing as I just encountered this same issue. After reading NMMNG and taking in the sidebar, I noticed I had an enormous amount of Nice Guy tendencies in my marriage. Recently, my wife and I had a “main event” where we were discussing why when women withhold sex how it increases sexual sin and temptation in men. I know I am accountable for my actions regardless of her putting out but we all know this struggle. She asked me for the first time in a long time, “have you ever looked …

Having this conversation this week. It seems that in the initial months my wife had no issues with our arrangement. She takes the night time and mornings and when I got home from work, I grab him and do my part until bed. I could have exacerbated the problem by some nights wanting to help to give her a break so I could play the "nice guy". This obviously caused confusion for her when I was stepping in on the original agreement and doing it to seek validation. Now I know much better and am still …

Great input from all. I really appreciate the advice. u/rocknrollchuck: The Golf analogy was GOLD. I am a golfer and this really made a lot of sense to me. Thanks for that.

Strength brother. This is a rough spot to be in but you seem to be on the right track. It is her job to come on board your ship or jump off. With that being said, I still struggle with these things as well. When the wife denies sex for 4 weeks or longer, I go mad. I'm weak in that area and working hard to keep frame and not let the denials rule me. Any tips on how you battled this in your head during your transition? After reading a lot about habits it seems you must insert a new routine rather …

OYS #1 9/4/2019 Background / Stats: 30 years old, 6’2”, 227, 21% BF. Married 5 years, 10-month-old son. Discovered RP July of 2019. Bible Study: Quiet time each morning after workout normally around 20min. I read 2 devotions and a little scripture. Sometimes it is hard as my wife is up when I come in from the gym at 7 and my son most of the time as well. Can be a little distracting and trying to find a place quiet is difficult. I am wondering if I should move it to when I arrive at work in the m…

I agree with the Tiger reference. Not really a "man-crush" just like seeing RP principals in daily life without the guy being called every name in the BP dictionary!

Working on paying off debt at this moment. I have been on and off with trying to get debt-free. This is an area I need a lot of improvement and lifestyle change in.

Thank you for taking the time for this great insight. I really appreciate it. In regards to the mission, you are absolutely correct. I am a very high driven individual that has no problem with attacking a goal or moving forward. I think most of the time it is just me leaving her behind in that. I will work on this mission and make certain to approach it with the principals you described. That is certainly something I am missing.
