My fuckface of an ex fiancé used to work for a major retailer in Canada that’s from the US (ok I’ll just say it it was part of the Marshall’s group) and they had customers who would come in with cards issued by publicly funded services and they could only buy kids clothes and shoes etc with it... so those systems are possible to put in place but I agree, difficult.

It’s not the judge who decides what the charges are. The judge applies the penalty, which is somewhere on a range. And better to get the 6 years to stick than give her 20 and potentially lose on an appeal.
