This was fantastic. I also belong to the Falsely Accused sub (have personal ex), and this is hugely applicable

The list of obvious red flags gives me whiplash. At some point you realize that you’ll never be prepared for all the different versions of malice/evil/crazy that there is in the world, and it never appears like you would expect, or else you would have avoided it.

She was never violent with them, if that’s a “saving grace.” Her fantasies/delusions about herself were all about her being a hero/victim, and she only cut out or went after people who challenged that, namely her family, my family, me, and any adult who called her out on her bullshit. Narcissism/BPD is a helluva thing

Thanks. It’s waaaaaaay more common than you want to know. Men are always thought to be the more dangerous and the aggressors. Immediately gave me more empathy towards other victims of bias (racial, socioeconomic, ethnic, etc)

My ex physically assaulted me several times, and I finally called the cops because she started doing it in front of the kids. When a woman deputy was giving me grief, while I was bleeding and my eye swelling because she scratched my cornea, I had to say, “But I’m the one that called you guys!” Her response was, “…and that is what’s saving your ass right now.” Ex claimed, literally, that I was attacking her and she just karate-blocked my hands into my own face and head (found this out later). Jud…

Because that is the legal procedure in cases of potential child abuse. You are absolutely correct to think that destroys any presumption of innocence before guilt. So now vengeful ex wives can manipulate children into making false claims, and there is literally no burden of proof or evidence. Even after DFCS cleared me, I never talked to a single police officer or investigator. If you are still saying, “That can’t be right” and if I hadn’t experienced it (along with her going after her family an…

Are you OP? If so I’m sorry. My prosecutor did the same thing, and I think you would be hard pressed to find a prosecutor who became a politician that DIDN’T do this, so they could claim to be “tough on crime” OP had his life fucked up, and I wanted to support him, but now I’m arguing with an ignorant fuckstick about Kamala

My focus was for the falsely accused OP, as it should be. If you need examples prosecutors manufacturing evidence, false confessions, paid witnesses, abuse of power to steamroll the innocent, which would include police misconduct as they gather/plant/manufacture “evidence” then you’re in for a rough ride. The point is that prosecutors have no penalty for abuse or misconduct, and the scale of abuse is massive, and you think Kamala is the only prosecutor who has done this shit???? Buckle up butterc…

Look up prosecutorial misconduct and your brain will explode from every Republican or Democrat misusing their position to be “tough on crime.” If we’re going to make generalizations, republicans are just as bad buying into this bullshit or manufacturing bias to achieve their political goals

Don’t blame one political affiliation or the other. Anyone who refuses to look at the facts of each case before sending charges to a grand jury and either embraces bias is doing harm. I say this as someone falsely accused of child abuse (physical and eventually sexual) by an evil ex spouse, where OVERWHELMING evidence, testimony from her previous victims in her own family, her history of physically abusing me and manipulating the kids, didn’t matter at all. If they hadn’t dropped all charges, th…

“Statistically”? Let’s see those statistics. You’ve just responded to the premise of ad hominem attacks with an ad hominem attack. Nice

As my life was destroyed for years with an easily disproven false allegation, where the only “investigating” was taking her statement, please go fuck yourself

Having just gone through being falsely accused by an evil, insane ex wife and dealing with the legal system for 4 years, even with piles of evidence to prove the claims complete false , and testimony from her ENTIRE FAMILY about her repeated patterns of insane behavior, truth doesn't matter. The judge LITERALLY advises a jury that corroborating evidence is NOT REQUIRED to find a defendant guilty. Defending yourself in court sets you up to be "attacking the victim" I dealt with 4 assistant DA'S, …

THIS IS THE MOST INFURIATING THING!!! The cops probably watched while the guy at the counter was in a no-win situation with this insane pitch, who GUARANTEED would have screamed bloody murder if he tried to defend himself (like when she did a professional level fish flop after he shook off her arm), and the cops would've 100% taken him in Sorry, but this is so much like my ex-wife's bullshit that I may have been triggered

She played the game well. OP completely missed the greater context (if there even was a real discussion with her landlord and not just social media fodder)
