The slightly odd lines are the best - knocks people out of their social conditioning and lets their guard down. Essentially if you open as if you've known each other for ages, they're more likely to be as open with you as their best friend.

We used to do a variation of the odd conversation game called 'first lines' and it was to give someone a first line to say to a particular girl. Depends. How did you try to escalate and when? My trick was to always escalate just as I'm leaving. Want to get a phone number? Say it was nice meeting you, walk off then say "Oh! I shouldn't be so rude. You were going to give me your phone number." then walk off after &, depending on what else I find, you can always come back later. Either way you've got a possible out for future.

The key is to not worry about what might happen, but to enjoy what does. Go out to have a good time, not to get laid. You're placing more of a value on your time which women will see and therefore make yourself more attractive to them.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
