Good question, but essentially it was always going to be impossible to get a perfectly representative non-biased sample because this study didn't have any funding for randomised polling systems like Amazon Mechanical Turk. Because of this, we had to pursue "opportunity sampling", just focusing on getting as many participants as possible. And in light of that, the strategy was to visit forums where people would be most interested. This ended up being the following sorts of places: Gender or sex b…

I think because trans people are a fairly small proportion of the population it could be easier to just make the study all inclusive and recruit widely. Could do something like what you mentioned and combine it and that would be okay, but because I want to add in some extra factors it would probably be more useful to recruit combined with cis people

Yes that would be a workable idea. It was a tough call. It was originally my intention to include trans participants. But given the study's hypotheses relate to cisgender people specifically, and given what I mentioned before, my supervisor recommended we make it cisgender participants only. your participation is greatly appreciated. Pleased I could post on a male-focused subreddit, it's been quite difficult to get male respondents so far. speaking of which, if anyone has more male spaces/subreddits to recommend I would like to hear it

Yeah I can revisit the various places I've posted with my results. These results will also be released on the Open Science Framework. I could either provide a link to the full report, or I could provide an abridged version - any preference?

STUDY (Mod-Approved): How does stress relate to gender beliefs? (18+, Cisgender participants) Hello, the mods have allowed me to make a call for participants on this subreddit for my ongoing study conducted with Northumbria University. Please see the details below: Why is there such disagreement on gender issues and could it have something to do with stress and perceptions of inequality? This survey investigates relations between gender values, stress, and identity. This is an online questionnai…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
