Take it seriously because I’m sure it’s very true. While also acknowledging that men have similar fears of either being stalked, harassed, or losing their careers and livelihood over false accusations. And that’s probably when I would lose her, because women don’t like finding out that things they were told are women-only issues also happen to guys.

I believe them, mainly because I’ve met a handful of women like that in real life. A few are in my family but I also have a few friends that are women who genuinely are worried about men’s issues in recent years. Not many, but enough that I’m not too suspicious when I see one online.

When I was 14 a friend’s mom accused me of trying to molest his younger brother when I gave him a wedgie. At the time I didn’t full understand what she was accusing but she demanded I never go near him again. My friend stopped talking to me after that night. On behalf of those comments, I apologize. I am glad there are at least a handful of women out there like you who are a supporter of men’s rights. My guess is that many of those men are just projecting from their own experiences of seeing certain women say similar things about men and “paying it forward,” not that that’s good. But I understand that for us to have progress we need to not make the same mistake that the side we are against have made.

I remember discussing this on a psychology class, and one of the reasons given was that men tend to use more definite means of suicide, guns, hanging, or Faul from great heights. Whereas women are more likely to use pills, or cutting. It’s obviously not meant to represent all. I myself am a two time male Suicide Survivor by way of cutting.

Totally agreed. I’ve made similar posts about women complaining about “having to apologize so much” or “people telling me to smile.” Both things that happen to men just as much but have never been considered Men’s Issues because men just don’t make a big deal about them.

But then the whole Brett Kavanaugh debacle happened and I was suddenly terrified of any girl who didn’t like me making up some story that millions of people would believe without proof. I’m not going to get into an argument over which one is worse because frankly they are just incomparable experiences, but don’t think that a man losing his job and way of living, possibly losing his family, and being turned on by those he cared about for something he didn’t do isn’t a form of trauma. Trusting a claim with no evidence “just to be safe” isn’t any more fair than just immediately assuming the woman is lying without looking into it. My point is let’s not be dismissive of either strug…

I agree I hate how dismissive the attitude has become to this fear. It was part of the reason why I didn’t go see the movie Promising Young Woman after they had an exchange in the trailer like “Getting falsely charged with rape is like every man’s worst nightmare” “😒You wanna guess what a woman’s is?” Especially because the implication is so backwards. I feel like the average person knows that being raped is a woman’s worst nightmare but people are less likely to know that being falsely charged …
