Alcohol was a big problem for me. I did many things while an active alcoholic that directly contributed to my marriage ending. It's hard to deal with the shame of that but I'm working through it and living for my kids in sobriety.

I personally doubt she's cheating. Try reading to her a book about improving marital intimacy... It sounds a little sappy maybe but I learned too late that what my wife wanted was that increased emotional connection with me to engage her sex drive. I became emotionally distant with her so she didn't feel safe to be physically intimate with me.

Is the relationship you have with your wife worth more or less to you than your business? Unless he's a jerk or you guys hate each other, your brother likely just wants you to be happy in the remaining part of your life. Telling you a hard thing sounds like an act of a brother who cares about you. You aren't a twenty year old man with lots of time to "start over." Generally we reduce risky investments as we get to retirement age so we have the security to retire.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
