Was your kid sent to foster care?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/26 01:43 PM

When there is an option for another person to carry then bodily risk of pregnancy, then we can talk about banning abortion. But I guarantee you that if this sci-fi idea were to ever be a thing, abortion would suddenly not be so controversial. Imagine if for unwanted pregnancy, the father then had to be the one changing his lifestyle to carry the child to term if the mother didn’t want to.

In most states you can ask for a test if you’re being sued for child support and bring up paternity as an issue.

So you want to love someone for what they can provide for you?

Didn’t you read, it’s because they are efficient?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/23 09:05 PM

Most guys I know that work full-time don’t even do yard-work. They just hire someone. Which is perfectly alright in my opinion!

You responded to another person that’s not a stay at home wife so I figured I’d share too.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/23 04:53 PM

I’m living the stay at home daughter life right now while studying for a huge exam. I figure this will be pretty similar to what I’d do if I ever get a man to live with: I cook and clean everyday - someone always wants breakfast so I get up and make it. My dad complains about it spending money on takeout for lunch so I’ll pack him a lunch and my mom if she wants one. Always make something for dinner because I’m the only one that likes leftovers. I engage in all of my hobbies, walk the dogs, take…

This is what I thought reading this too. I think in this situation it would be perfectly acceptable for the working husband to get up, go to work and expect to do very little when he gets back. But, it looks like OP thinks differently?

Why? You don’t think there’s enough men around for her to get at least two days a week?

Are you assuming she doesn’t date? You can not have a relationship/partner but still be dating and having an active romantic life.

What if he doesn’t spend my money wisely or on me? If we have kids, I can be there helping him parent. But my grandma had to work and she gave my grandpa her money, he used it to pay for his second family before leaving her.

Listen almost every non-narcissistic woman I know has had a thing with a short guy. In all but three instances (where they got married or are dating long term) the short man ruined it by being weird about his height. The first guy I looked at and thought “wow he’s so hot” was like 5’5. Given he was very chiseled and well built, but the guy was short and was constantly getting interest from women.

You could also do something embarrassing ONCE that people would never forget. Even if it’s totally unlike you, that one moment could be made to define you.

As long as you also do not engage in casual sex then your expectations for your partner are sound. I only have a problem when people that engage in causal sex spout that it’s problematic and off-putting. But if you think it’s wrong for both parties then it’s completely fair and realistic for you to have that standard.

Several notable people have come back from less than stellar beginnings, or middles. Lots of celebrities have dealt with very severe, very public alcohol dependencies. And lots of them have used the experience to better themselves. RDJ, for instance, some past presidents were alcoholics or dependent on alcohol while in office. Most people recognize that behaviors and habits aren’t necessarily permanent. Habits are super easy to break, at least the ones that aren’t based on addiction. Now, morall…

But you said earlier that the studies you posted, I think it was you, suggested that promiscuous behavior impacts both men and women as potential partners.

If the town drunk hasn’t had a drink in 7 years and is currently an upstanding member of society is he still the town drunk?

How can they be good friends with benefits if promiscuity is equally damaging on both sides? Wouldn’t you, by participating in causal sex with that woman also be making yourself a worse partner?

Your sexual behavior during what one period? Does it reset if you haven’t had any sexual activity in months or years? If your sexual history is varied but with a low frequency? Is something really a pattern of behavior if someone hasn’t done something in a long time? At what point does the sexual behavior start to define a person?

You don’t need to be friends with your co-parent to be a good parent. You simply need to be cordial and non-confrontational in front of the kids. Being on speaking terms is not being friendly, nor does it imply being friends. Complicated could mean a bunch of things. They could have simply grown apart, or just been different. Maybe they wanted different things or wanted to raise kids differently? Maybe one of them wanted to cheat but didn’t because they were married so they just ended things. Co…

If she cheated on him in what world do you think they would have still “parted as friends”?

Also gay men will just not get married, while lesbians tend to move super quickly and get married fast, rushing into the relationship. Probably due to the fact that there are still societal pressures that push them to want marriage and family fast.

Hasidic Jewish women also tend to work more than women in general on average. And they are still expected to do all of the house and children duties. While being subservient to their husband. I read somewhere that after the holocaust, there was worry in the community about Haredi Jewish culture dying out after the founding of Israel. So then pushed as many men as they could to earn the Torah. This basically made it so that by 1990, about two thirds of Haredi men didn’t work.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
