The idea of men needing their rights protected may seem hypocritical to some. I think it could be because historically, (white) men were the ones deciding the rights of others. Women didn't get the right to vote until 1920, same with the rights of african americans (right to vote, abolition of slavery, Jim Crow laws, etc). Just a thought.

I don't think alimony should exist. I understand if in the past a woman didn't have an education and was the primary caretaker of the children afte the divorce...but this is 2013...any woman with a high school degree can get a burger flipping job to pay for herself and child support for her kids.

I think it might also come down to the fact that women are not allowed to hold the financial responsibility, or at least not expected to culturally. Just a thought.
