Exactly my point. You seemed to imply that people are being oppressed because of Hollywood. Did I misunderstand?

So adding boob and ass shots doesn't hurt the bottom line but showing a guys bare ass or something else does hurt the bottom line. Where is the sexism here? I don't go on the internet and watch gay porn then start claiming that im being oppressed. If you don't like it, vote with your wallet. Sounds like many women just don't care.

But do you think anything would have come of it had the memo not been leaked?

One thing I've noticed that trainers tend to do is try to hype people in attempt to make friends. Once they have a rapport with you, they'll try to use that rapport to win you as a client.

You'll overtrain if you do 5 hours in the gym

I just re-read your comment. Sorry I didn't see the quotes on the first pass. You can disregard that reply.

Philosophically speaking, solipsism is more or less the idea that you are the only mind in existence. Sometimes it's referred to as the "brain in a vat" idea. Basically, the idea that you are the only one that actually exists and everyone else is a figment of your imagination. It's pretty much an untenable position and no real philosophers actually hold that position but it's unfalsifiable so you'll hear people talk about it from time to time because the only real rebuttals are that it's pointle…

I've seen a few people using the term solipsism in the context of a "man's solipsism". I'm familiar with the philosophical usage, but what does it mean in this context?

This is programmed into us biologically. It's part of what causes the uncanny valley as well. When we see another person that looks strange we react to that on a biological level as a defense mechanism against catching diseases.

This isn't new. From an evolutionary perspective, women have always had to manipulate men into caring for them and their children. Think about Hunter gatherers. Women being the physically weaker sex needed protection, food, and shelter for her and her children. The best way to provide that was to have a man that can hunt, fight and build for her. Women have adapted the social intelligence necessary to acquire that and keep it.

If you're online dating, remember you're a fucking dime a dozen. It doesn't matter if you've got a great physique and personality, high SMV girls are getting handed cock left and right. You're disposable. You're essentially worthless to to any girl that is attractive. Why deal with your bullshit when they can next you and potentially find their Chad?

Mostly just googling stuff. My brother in law is an ME and he got into it through working on vipers. Ended up needing to write some ECU firmware and taught himself. I'm not an ME but I taught myself to code and now that's what I do for a living. Just find something you want to make and go down a Google rabbit hole.

You've got a mechanical engineering degree and you want to be a teacher? Maybe teachers make a better salary in the UK but it seems like you're aiming too low. Try to get into an engineering job making good money. Learn software development and get into that. I know a lot of MEs that are self taught software engineers making 150k+

Great point. The only reason I lurk in this sub is to glean what little self improvement info is here and for motivation. The more I read though the more I see toxic people posting garbage about how to take advantage of people in a way that diminishes their humanity. It's pretty disturbing tbh.

It's not about shit testing yourself it's about applying the philosophy discussed in this thread as a way of understanding and overcoming your own self doubt.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
