I got in to an argument with a woman about this. She argued that it's harder for women that were once beautiful but now older and "invisible". From my experience (may not reflect reality everywhere) men may do worse in school because the way school is taught is geared to how women learn.. For myself, I was skipped grades, chosen early for college prep, etc and I still dropped out of school because I couldn't stand the non interactive way things were taught and anytime I expressed dissatisfaction I would be punished. It wasn't worth it to me.

This can stem from women's insane standards for a mate. Women date laterally or up meaning they won't date a man who makes less, is less attractive than her, or is shorter than her.
