You're confusing having morals with having your morals. Someone can have morals and be totally on board with sex work. There's nothing inherently bad about it, some people's beliefs (religion mostly) prescribe it to be bad. Hell, the Greeks had a God devoted to this stuff it was clearly moral to them.

You're ignoring the factual discriminations women face because you think they're either things women ask for (LOL) or because you don't realize they exist or how bad they are since you're a man. You're literally saying "not true" to things provably true and the pulling 0 statistics to back your point up. For essentially every point I made you plugged your ears and went "nah" doesn't happen anymore. But you are wrong it does, a lot. You need to realize the entire society we live in was shaped by …

Decades of analytical studies have consistently debunked the feminist "oppressive male patriarchy" rhetoric. Source Firstly, the Vietnam war is far, far from the only war where men were drafted against their will for the "privilege" of dying for their country My apologies for getting this history wrong but it doesn't change the point. The privilege was (still is to a lesser degree) voluntary service, selective service is an entirely other bag of bullshit and yes, is patriarchy since women are on…

Well in Britain the murder rate is far lower... Lack of guns and everything. If it’s real risk, then there’s practically no reason to be scared at all for most people, women included. Thata pure conjecture. Women are already avoiding these situations we have no idea what it would be like if we didn't.
/r/PussyPassDenied24/09/20 05:05 PM

You've given me a British source for American? Alright... The privilege isn't fear, it's real risk. Men have essentially no risk of rape/abduction, women do, that's the privilege. It doesn't need to be more complex than that.

This whole comment section is conjecture. It's alright to discuss and debate with limited data. We need to be able to make decisions as a society without having perfect data because you won't always have what you need. Engineering 101

Welcome to lack of data, I've given you the data available that showcases women are likely just not out, if u reject that I cannot fix it. But do you have any data to the contrary? You've provided nothing to support your point. Murder statistics cover everything from gang violence to lovers disputes, to bar fights, to suicide (if it's actually homicides). Where's your data showing how many men are killed while just walking around in the streets? Because that's all that's relevant to this discuss…

Women are likely just as likely targets of Robbery as men. But source needed I posted polenta of data to explain why more victims are male but there's no data to support either side. You have to infer using common sense when data isn't available. Why would men be targeted over women? Men are typically stronger and more likely to fight back. They make worse targets. yet the stats show that it is not As mentioned men are generally less risk-adverse. a major flaw in your logic is also that men are …

Source? Even if we assume men and women are equally likely to be mugged (which is not true), the original statement was male privilege is not being scared to go outside. Both sexes are multiple times more likely to be mugged or murdered than they are raped. So how is that true again? Because women have an added risk ONLY BECAUSE THEY'RE WOMEN. The magnitude of that risk doesn't change if it's privilege or not.
/r/PussyPassDenied24/09/20 12:59 PM
1

Women are not less likely to be murdered just for the fact that they're women. It's because they're less likely to be in a situation where they're likely to be murdered (gang violence being the primary reason). And once again, the privilege is the reduced risk of rape/abduction solely because they don't have a vagina. The risk of random Robbery, murder, or assault is likely the same for men and women.
/r/PussyPassDenied24/09/20 12:40 PM
1

Women are likely just as likely targets of Robbery as men. But they have the added much higher risk of rape/abduction that's the point. To address your added comment Men aren't staying inside because they're more likely than women to judge that it's safe to do so. That's a combination of men being less risk-adverse and men having overall less risk because they're highly unlikely to be raped or abducted. Women are less likely because we're taught from an early age not to and because we're about a…

Literally everone in this thread is saying men are targeted more and so women have nothing to fear. They're entirely wrong and misunderstanding the statistics aa I pointed out.
/r/PussyPassDenied24/09/20 12:32 PM
1

Men are already less scared, that's why they're most of the victims. The privilege is the reduced risk of rape/abduction. It's not victim blaming its explaining statistics. I'm not saying it's their fault (it's not) but you cannot be mugged on the street if you're not there.

It showcases that men are in general the ones involved. So either women are just walking around peacefully while men beat the shit out of each other or, more likely, that women are just not outside alone and therefore aren't victims as often
/r/PussyPassDenied24/09/20 12:21 PM

I'm not claiming causation, quite the opposite. I'm demonstrating that men are the majority of victims and the significant majority of perpetrators. There are two potential causes for this. Either women are just waking around peacefully not attacking or being attacked while men beat the shit out of each other. Or, way more likely, that women just aren't outside and that's why men are overwhelmingly the ones involved. The causation correlation that you and others are doing is saying that because …

Your argument is akin to saying that the reason more men have died in wars is because they were "privileged" enough to have to go to war in the first place. That's actually correct. For a long time women were unable to reap the benefits of joining the armed services. Outside of Vietnam no one forced these men in. Selected service is due to patriarchy. "Women are fragile and weak and shouldn't be drafted" Or that the reason men statically pay much more child support than women is because they're …

So men have an uncontrollable urge to rape then? They're just inherantly bad?
/r/PussyPassDenied24/09/20 11:07 AM
1

I mean... Guys could just stop raping people, men can help by keeping other men honest. Also economic disparity causes crime increase so solving that would massively reduce rapes. Part of the issue with guns is that you've turned it into a life or death situation. Without a firearm you're more likely to survive the rape. If the rapist finds a gun they're more likely to turn the rape into a murder.

Here's rapes by strangers: https://popcenter.asu.edu/content/sexual-assault-women-strangers-0 This is about as close as I can find with a quick google search. But you should know that prison rapes are irrelevant. Unfortunately, victimization studies do not collect data on the locations where assaults occur. We're talking about the risk of being attacked IN THE STREETS. Prison rape is terrible, yes. And something needs to be done about it. But you are obviously not at risk of being prison raped on the street now are you. This discussion is about being able to walk alone at night. The statistic that matters is your risk of rape while out alone at night, which doesn't include prison rape since that cannot happen out on the streeta at night. Quit arguing in bad faith.

Men are also more likely to be the perpetrators of violent crime. Men are more likely to be in situations where violence is more prevalent. The statistics suggest this is the opposite of true. Men are far more likely to be attacked. Source? Is there any info that supports the idea Men and women are equally likely to be mugged if they are alone? Common sense? Why would men be a better target for mugging? They're physically stronger and more likely to fight back.

I avoid spiders when possible, but it doesn't mean that if I pick one up I'm more likely to get bit than someone who picks them up all the time. But what it means is that you have a lower lifetime risk of being bit. If you grab one you aren't at any less risk but since you rarely do it's far less likely you will be at any point. The statistics about men being mugged more are lifetime risk of being mugged, it's the same as your example. You're literally proving my point with that example. The sta…

Common sense. Why would a man be a better mugging target? He's likely stronger and is far more likely to fight back. Not to mention women have the added risk of rape. The explanation for why men have a lifetime higher risk of being assaulted is they also have a lifetime greater likelihood of going out alone.
/r/PussyPassDenied24/09/20 12:32 AM

Because men are statistically more likely to be out alone than women... A woman alone on the street is at greater risk than a man on the street because she has to fear rape on top of mugging. But women are very rarely alone on the street, much less so then men.

I had a friend walk to my house only about a mile The major difference is women don't do this fearing the reprecussions. We're taught from an early age that it's a death-sentance and so women either travel in groups or find a safer method of travel.

A man alone on the street is no more likely to be attacked than a woman, quite the opposite actually. Men in general are more likely because women are FAR FAR less likely to be out at night alone. But if a woman and a man each went out the woman is statistically more likely to be assaulted because she stands the same risk of mugging but with an ADDED risk of rape.
/r/PussyPassDenied23/09/20 11:53 PM

The reprecussions of being robbed are you have less things. The reprecussions of being rapped are massive mental and physical trauma, potential pregnancy/termination, and potential loss of life (since rape often leads to murder so there aren't witnesses).

I have personally been called toxic. Because I enjoy things like carpentry, Blacksmithing, or Whiskey, Or because I enjoy the company of a woman without the expectation that I have to take care of her. I'm sorry you've had to deal with that and your last example is oddly something that is distinctly NOT "toxic masculinity". I would like to point out that this is a survey of 250 people from their own social media circles (primarily British and of an average age of ~45) and so this does mean there's a level of inherent bias. The framing of the question is also quite odd. Hell, 1/3 of men surveyed said they're insulted by the concept of "positive masculinity" so it definitely seems as though there was confusion. toxic femininity? IDK, go make one that's how wikipedia works. Here's an article from Psychology Today: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/sex-sexuality-and-romance/201908/toxic-femininity And another from HackSpirit: https://hackspirit.com/toxic-femininity/ To be fair, historically women had very little power and so toxic femininity tends to only affect other women whereas toxic masculinity affects both sexes. I'd love to hear your explanation for this. It's not as if I've put words in men's mouths of my own invention. These are actual things that happen, and historically (as is the context for toxic masulinity/femninity) happened a LOT. The "no homo" joke/meme is literally a direct example of this.

They're bullied into not participating at all. Keep in mind these people feed in from chess clubs. Would you want to participate in a club where people bully you? No, you drop it and it turns you off of chess forever. This is a VERY real issue facing women trying to enter into anything considered "traditionally masculine". For a very visually obvious example see "gamer girls" who are constantly bullied and mocked out of gaming and e-sports.

As pointed out above you'd expect the percentages to track. ~13% of directors are women but only about 1.6% of best director nominations go to women. Just as you'd expect 1% of chess tournament wins to go to women if 1% of the players are women we should expect to see around 13% of best director nominations to go to women. Certainly not a 10x difference.

But that's covered by the fact that you'd expect to see them by the same ratio of the number of directors. In this case ~13% of directors are women but only about 1.6% of best director nominations go to women. About a 10x difference.

Because IQ tests are literally worthless and for centuries women were forced to be housewives while men worked.

Corrected my statistic but the point is still valid. First off the reason I stated you're wrong is you clearly said In proportion, it’s actually pretty equal to what it should be. Which even at 13% is still off by an entire order of magnitude. Now to your NEW point regarding it being a contest, you're right that it's the top 5 but assuming an equal distribution of still statistically over many years you'd see things even out. The fact is that over any meaningful time range this statistic holds t…

If they weren't you'd see fewer female directors as they wouldn't be hired/would be fired. In almost any other field there are pretty major disparities in representation that happen naturally. It is almost certain fact that these aren't "natural" disparities but are a result of cultural pressures. Women were told their place was at home with children until only a few decades ago let's not pretend nature has been the guiding force.

But there are a LOT more plausible answers to that than "biology" and to imply that's the case is a HARD push. The go to argument for men being better than women at chess is that simply more men play it, and there are more opportunities for them to play and compete. That seems like a fair argument to me. There could be no actual difference between men and women's capabilities in chess, but men just dominate the field because they have a larger presence in the field. 100% agree with this and that…

In part yes, there's a lot of discrimination against women in those kinds of competitions.

I mean, you're wrong and clearly talking out of your ass: https://twitter.com/UN/status/1217603798451081218 4 nominations in the last 5 decades that's 1.6%. Women make up about 13% of directors so the numbers are massively skewed.

In theory, you'd expect awards to be given out in equivalent percentages based on the actual percentage of male and female directors. If it consistently deviates from this than either women naturally make worse directors (highly unlikely) or more likely Hollywood is a bit sexist (which should surprise no one).

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
